Christ University Application Process 2024

Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
On Application Process

Q:   Are admissions at Christ Delhi NCR entrance-based or merit-based?

A:

Christ University's Delhi NCR campus adopts a nuanced approach to admissions, varying between B.Tech and MBA programs. For B.Tech, the process is strictly merit-based, with no requirement for an entrance examination. This means that applicants are evaluated primarily on their academic achievements and related criteria.

On the other hand, the admission process for the MBA programs at Christ University involves a blend of merit and performance in designated entrance exams such as CMAT, CAT, MAT, XAT, or ATMA. This dual evaluation system implies that candidates need to demonstrate not only a strong academic record but also competitive scores in the specified entrance tests.

It's essential to note that this approach differs from a solely entrance-examination-based system. The inclusion of merit-based criteria suggests that factors beyond the entrance exam results contribute to the selection process for MBA candidates. This could include academic performance in prior degrees, work experience, or other relevant qualifications. Whether pursuing B.Tech or MBA, knowing the balance between merit and entrance scores at Christ University and being aware of potential variations in admission processes across institutions will guide you in making informed choices for your academic journey.

I would not recommend joining this college as it is pathetic.
Placements: Less than 20% of students get placed. The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 2 LPA - 2.5 LPA. The lowest salary package required individuals to work for free. Wipro, FY, and McKinsey visit the college. Internship opportunities are not offered by our college. It is mandatory for students to find internships by themselves and do the work, or else they won't be promoted. Internship opportunities shown by the university for marketing are false. They are simply lying with their placements and internships. Roles offered are sales, manager, and accountant.
Infrastructure: The one good thing about the college is its infrastructure and maintenance. I didn't go to the hostel, so I don't know about it. Facilities I have heard of in the hostel are very poor. The mess food can sometimes cause food poisoning as there is no hygiene.
Faculty: Except for a few, the majority of our faculty members don't know about subjects they are teaching. Most of the time, students correct them that they are wrong with some questions and concepts. Semester exams are not very difficult, but students have to study.
Other: I chose this course because I want to pursue an MBA in the future. There is no best thing. It is an easy course and can give students some industrial knowledge. In this college, the course plan should be shaped by practical experiences and case studies. Scholarships are the worst. Good students receive a scholarship of Rs. 10,000 over three years, from a total fee of Rs. 6,00,000. This amount is not given to them directly. Otherwise, all other things are average.

A nice college with a lot of restrictions.
Placements: Placements are available but as a BBA graduate, the package offered is quite average. Companies like Gartner and Genpact visit the college. Placements are sufficient as BBA graduates plan to do an MBA rather than picking up placements. COX MBA accelerates their package in 2 years.
Infrastructure: The campus is very small, which makes students' networking more fast.
Faculty: Faculty members are strict, but I guess they must be strict to maintain the decorum. The only corn of this university is attendance criteria, and it is the finest. Almost every faculty is strict, but at one point, they are understanding and supportive.
Other: Our college does not conduct freshers and other things. A lot of cultural fests are held. DJ nights are also organised by different departments. This college encourages students to participate in co-curricular activities. Recently, I got a chance to represent our college at the IIT Kanpur Sports Fest. Our college keeps on participating in various events of many colleges like Amity, UPES, Graphic Era, OP Jindal, Delhi University, Ashoka, etc.

Good but not for the weak.
Placements: We are the first batch to pursue this course, so we will be the first ones sitting for placements of this course. We don't have any information about placements the college will be providing for our course. But for the other BBA courses, the salary package offered is around 3 LPA - 4 LPA. Everyone doesn't get placed and I am not so sure about the placement percentage but as far as I have heard it is about 60-70%. Companies like Deloitte, EY, and Genpact come for recruitment. As ours is the first batch, we are not sure about roles but mostly students will be opting for analytics or finance.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are quite spacious and air-conditioned. We have smartboards for the faculty to teach. Wi-Fi is available but with very limited access to the web. The library is quite good in our university. Students can study plenty of books related to their courses for reference purposes. Hostel rooms are also decent. They have air conditioners. Fees are on the higher side but with facilities provided it's justified. The fines are hefty in the hostel. Sports like football, badminton, cricket, volleyball, basketball, and table tennis can be played on campus. They have their separate courts and turfs. The canteen food is good enough but very costly for a college canteen. Canteens usually have food items at an affordable price but here it's not the case. I am not sure about medical facilities as I never felt the need to use any.
Faculty: Faculty members are quite helpful except for a few. They pay attention to students in class as well as after class hours if someone requires it. They have proper knowledge of their respective subjects. Assignments are a headache in Christ. We get CIAs which stand for continuous internal assessments. Subjects are very relevant to the industry. Exams are at a medium level of difficulty I would say. They are not easy but on the difficult side. Generally, most of the students pass.
Other: I chose this course because it has finance as well as analytics. Two of the major specializations are needed in today's industry. I wish the crowd and campus life were better or maybe the location of the college was better. It's difficult for a student coming from a middle-class family to sustain with the crowd here. Plenty of events happen in the college throughout the year. Connectivity is fine. The metro station is 5 minutes away but the location of the college is very bad. A lot of extracurricular activities are held.

If you want to pursue a future in management, then Christ is the best choice for you.
Placements: Around 79% of the students got their placements from recruiters like Deloitte, Wipro, etc. The highest package was 12 lac, the average package is 8 lac, and the lowest package is 6 lac. Everyone got their internships based on their interest; it's just you have to gather certificates for your CV to look good to the recruiters in order to hire you. Top roles offered were senior marketing analyst, senior marketing manager, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities here are very nice as the campus gets well-lit in winters with colorful lights. The infrastructure includes two football turfs, one big and one small, with a gazebo to sit, and two basketball courts with one badminton court. There are two blocks - A block and B block. The best part about A block is the cafeteria, and the best part about B block is the rooftop cafe. The classrooms are well designed and equipped with ACs, and smartboards are available to use. The food in the cafeteria is very nice as there are all types of food you want to eat, and the food is also fresh. Medical facilities are available all the time, and sports events happen regularly.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified from great institutes, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of every teacher is different, but their learnings from every teacher are worth it. The course for every subject is well designed, as they are course-oriented, and the things that would come in the practicals will come in the exam. There are two exams in a semester: mid-term and end-term. In mid-term, the exams happen continuously, with the difficulty level being average if you study well. Just do good in your CIAs/practical exams, while the end-term exams are held in November end, and they are difficult as the whole syllabus is hard to cover in just 2-3 days.

Delhi University or a private university, if yes to private, why you should opt for Christ!
Placements: So there are placement opportunities for up to 65% of students. The highest package I suppose has been 8 lakhs. Now, companies like Deloitte have been here. It totally depends on your GPA and how your interview goes. About the course, the course has an amazing curriculum that follows very specified detailing of the subject, and academic coordinators are assigned to each so that every student excels.
Infrastructure: Course again is amazing. The hostel gate closes at 9:30 pm sharp. There is no mess (food), but the hostels are very clean and nice. You can take up leaves for which you need to inform 3 days prior, and the environment is also nice. For food, you will have to use the college cafeteria.
Faculty: Faculty is amazing! Especially the economics department. The faculty has been amazing; they are very cooperative, fun, and amazing mentors when it comes to academics. For mid-semester exams, you need to have at least 75% attendance, and for end-sem, at least 85% attendance. But the overall curriculum frames you as a leader.

Experience in Christ University - Delhi NCR Campus.
Placements: The Delhi NCR campus of the university has been established only recently and hence the placements offered are not that great as of now. However, the college is maximizing its reach to bring potential recruiters to the campus. As of now, the companies that have come for the recruitment and placement process include companies like EY and Genpact (for my course). Various Masters students have been recruited into major organizations like Barclays, Grand Thornton and many more.
Infrastructure: The Christ University Delhi campus has a great infrastructure. The campus has two blocks and the third one is under construction. The campus has football turf, a basketball court, a badminton court and many more. Additionally, there are Domino's, Cafe Coffee Day and Giani's on campus. The classrooms and libraries are also well equipped. There are separate auditoriums on both the campus blocks as well as seminar halls. Overall, the infrastructure of the campus can be given a 4/5.
Faculty: Speaking for my course, the triple major is a bit tough (it has been discontinued on campus). The courses are sufficiently rigorous and aim to provide practical and hands-on experiences for the students. The hostel facilities are also great within the campus. We have separate boys and girls hostels. However, hostels do not provide dining facilities. Students have to visit the campus to dine (the hostels are located a two-minute walk from the campus).
Other: The campus provides a variety of events throughout every semester. The students are constantly kept busy with ongoing fests, extracurricular activities, concerts, clubs, etc. The college has a student welfare organization, a centre for social action and many more clubs. The students have the option to be a part of more than one club.
