One of the best private colleges in Kolkata.

Placements: The college has average placement records. In 2017, the placement record was 85.6, out of them 40% were BPO. If a student has the ability to get placed, then he/she can surely be placed. The top order of private colleges of Kolkata is similar to CIEM. Means CIEM is on the top order. Mostly big companies like Huawei, Amazon, TCS, CTS, HP India etc., are coming on this college and then some students are also placed in the better place on pool camping too.

The faculty members are good, but placements are not up to the mark.

Placements: Placements are not up to mark because most of the time there is pool campusing going on in the college. The college did not provide internships or placements to MBA students; the students had to find internships on their own.

It is not the best but definitely it can be.

Placements: They are giving placement, but we cant say whether it is good or bad. According to me, it is good to have something than nothing. When most of the colleges are not offering placement, this college is providing placements. Companies like HCL, Deloitte, Zycus, Genpact etc. are recruiting students.

Calcutta Institute Of Engineering & Management.

Placements: The placement provided through the college placement facility is below average as most of the recruiting companies that visit the campus are call centres. Our college provided internship to all the students of our batch but was not able to provide proper placement to all the candidates.

The college is overall good for education, but not for infrastructure and placement.

Placements: The placements are good, about 75% of the students get placed. Companies like Tech Mahindra, Sunte and many others visit for placements. They give the package about 3 to 3.5 lacs per annum. The deserving student gets good placement on the basis of merit. The placement cell of the college is very good.

Join CIEM college to have fun with friends and nothing else.

Placements: The placements are a joke here. They list several companies on their website with a percentage of students placed last year (85.2% for the 2016 batch), but just a fraction of the companies actually came for campusing for 2018 batch. Out of those, few companies hardly 2 were for software development, or engineering and rest of them were for ITES / BPO. So, if you want to work as a BPO, then maybe this college can help. Otherwise, you are on your own. Talking about the salary, it ranged from 1.44 ...

A good college in the heart of the city.

Placements: The reported placements were said to be 87.5%. The companies like TechMahindra, HCL and Syntel were among others that came to the college for placements. One of the known senior's batchmates' salary package was around 3 lacs per annum. A handful students get college placements based on their merit.

Not the place for placements, but amusements.

Placements: I got placed in Ericson as a BSS engineer, and later I got to know that I don't have a job. There are very few companies, or some can say 3 to 4 who come to our college campus. Again, those who come and do their recruitment will either not turn up on selecting candidates or won't contact the college any further. The placement community just sits at the office and would tell students to wait and look for the group mail if contacted. The students rather have to go to various cities and try walk-in...

Overall a good college. It's totally upto you to choose the appropriate college for you.

Placements: I got selected for two companies. One of them was in Mohali which was fake and the other one was in Kolkata but the package they offered was not that good. In fact, Tech Mahindra also came to our college and recruited about 50 students. Overall the placements that college offers is average.

If you looking for a good college then you must think about the CIEM.

Placements: I think the opportunity created by the college is good and we have to take this opportunity and make it successful. The college also brings various companies for our placement, and also the number of the successful student in placement is good. Also, top leading companies gather here for the placement.

Three and a half years, it's a once in a lifetime experience for me in this college.

Placements: The placement goes with the market trends. IT companies are hiring students from different streams. Core companies never visited my college on my watch. You have to get a job opportunity on your own skill. The average salary package is nearly 1.6 lacs per annum. The college is providing no internship till now. Mainly, the marketing jobs were offered to the students. There is a traditional placement cell.

Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management is neither good nor bad.

Placements: About, 70% of the students of CSE branch got selected by the different MNCs and the local companies. But only a few student like 10 to 15% students are satisfied with their job. Lots of students are not satisfied with the job because most of them get BPO jobs, data analyst job or system operator job. The highest salary offered by an MNC company was 3.6 LPA in which only three students get selected for the job. The average salary for the student was 1.5 LPA, and the lowest salary was 0. Dissatisfied because of faculty, poor placements since 2016 and average infrastructure, facilities.

Placements: The placements of the college are poor since a few years. The only on-campus recruitment we get is for the BPO jobs, and even if we get the jobs as, say, developer, the package offered is like Rs. 10KPM or even less than that. These firms are the least rated companies. We never got an opportunity to sit in a top MNC campus recruitment. No pool campusing is provided to us with a high rating. The salary offered is extremely low.

No problem with faculty and infrastructure, but there is a prior need for placement.

Placements: The placement is not as good as we expected when we took admissions. The pay scale is comparatively lesser than the other colleges. The recruiting companies are mainly startups who were looking for developers for their websites. I am from CSE branch, so I don't have information about other departments.

The college is a good choice for students in the West Bengal.

Placements: The percentage of placement for IT and CSE branches is best. For EE and civil branches placement is also good. The core companies like Captain TMT Bar, L&T visited the campus. Top IT based companies like Genpact, Cognizant, TCS visited regularly. The pool-campuses and off-campuses are arranged our college regularly. The internship opportunity conducts in our college properly. The highest package is around 6lacs per annum. The average package is 2.5 - 3.4 lacs per annum.

My road to B.Tech. and my experience in CIEM.

Placements: On campus, placements were below average during our recruitment period. About 30-40% of the students got placed with an average salary ranging from Rs. 1.75 LPA to 3 LPA. The companies like the Infoway, DCS, Pingaksho Technologies along with MNCs like the Mphasis, Tech Mahindra, HCL Maintec came for the on-campus recruitment.

A good college with good professors.

Placements: The placements were pretty decent in 2016. Around 85-90% of graduates were placed in good companies. Companies which hired students are Amazon, IBM, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Think and Learn, etc. Roles offered to students are testers, web developers, associate engineer, etc.

A private engineering college of Kolkata

Placements: There are very less opportunities for the placement. Though the TPO shows that they are working hard, but the work is not fruitful. So one has to make their career in their own way. Only a few MNCs visit the campus and most of them recruit for support profile, if you are very lucky and good you might end up in testing or development.

Good surroundings and helpful teachers.

Placements: If you expect that you will be getting a good salary package after completing your graduation from here, then you are totally into the wrong college. You can get up to 10-15 thousand maximum from here. The college placement cell teachers are helpful, and they will help you in everything.

A decent college for taking admission

Placements: It has almost 100% placements in companies with Tech Mahindra and HCL being the regular recruiters. The institute also provides placement assistance to the students for getting placed in companies like TCS, CTS, and Accenture by enrolling their names for tests like AMCAT and in portals like Cocubes, Monsterjobs, etc.
