Q:   Is B.Com at D.H.S.K. Commerce College worth the investment?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current students and alumni, here's what you can expect:

    Infrastructure and Facilities:

    * The college has good infrastructure with air-conditioned classrooms, a big library, and hostel facilities (for girls).
    * However, the hostel facilities for boys are limited and still under construction.
    * Other amenities include a canteen, sports facilities, and a gym.

    Academics and Course Curriculum:

    * The B.Com course is relevant and industry-oriented, preparing students for careers in commerce.
    * The faculty members are experienced, knowledgeable, and supportive.
    * The course structure includes six semesters, with a passing criterion of 40 out of 100 marks.

    Placements and Internship Opportunities:

    * Placements are scarce, and most students opt for internships or self-placed positions.
    * Although, some students did secure jobs in reputed companies, such as IOCL, and others opted for government jobs via NCC.
    * Career guidance cell and regular career counseling sessions are available to assist students.

    Other Aspects:

    * The college has a good atmosphere, celebrating festivals and organizing cultural events.
    * Scholarship schemes are available for deserving students.
    * The college encourages extracurricular activities, including sports and games.

In conclusion, while the college offers a good academic programme with a strong faculty, its limitations lie in providing adequate placements and internship opportunities. However, students who invest in this course may still benefit from the college's other strengths, such as its infrastructure and facilities, and supportive faculty. Ultimately, it's essential to weigh these factors against your personal goals and priorities before making an informed decision.

The college provides a favorable study environment and offers students good facilities.
Placements: The college does not provide placements. However, it emphasizes personal development, networking opportunities, and provides students with the tools needed to secure employment on their own. Many graduates go on to find jobs in their chosen fields.
Infrastructure: The college campus is small but well-equipped with a computer lab and library for academic needs. It has around 20 classrooms and air conditioning. The college provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. There is a canteen, and gym facilities are also available.
Faculty: There are two shifts—day and morning. I am in the day shift, and the teachers are very supportive and create a positive environment for the students. Yes, the current course is fairly relevant. Despite the teachers' efforts, the exams are tough, and the pass percentage is around 50 percent.

Just want to say that our college is good in northeast for taking admission in B.Com course.
Placements: Our college doesn't provide any placement because our college is not big enough to get placement from the big companies so come to our college and score good marks and apply for internships and placements from other intermediaries. At our college, many students get jobs in the banking sector at companies like IoCl.
Infrastructure: Our hostel is outstanding and everything is good. The girls hostel has small gym facilities for the girls and warden and the other staff of the hostel are good. The boys hostel was recently built, and firstly, only 10 seats will be provided for those staying in the hostel.
Faculty: Per year 2 exams are conducted in semesters and our college faculty are best having good relation with students they are always ready to help you from the problems and very gentle and our university has changed the courses to the new education policy where general degree course will last a number of years.

It is the best college in Dibrugarh for students who want to pursue B.Com.
Placements: Placement and internship opportunities are very less in our college. Our college provides a well-equipped career guidance cell for students to deal with real work situations. It provides frequent career counseling sessions from well-known dignitaries to students. Students may apply for internships or placements on their own. Our college supports students to get placements and internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is excellent. It provides well-equipped and spacious classrooms with digital education with the help of smart boards, video lessons, and practical sessions. It has various cells for the development and protection of students like an NSS cell, an NCC cell, a women's development cell, an IQAC cell, and an ICG cell. It also has various departmental labs and a determined computer lab for the advanced research and education of the course. It has a library with well-trained librarians and fully shelved books on accounting, finance, commerce, and literature. It also has boys' and girls' common rooms respectively for leisure time passage. It also has a gym, an NBA court, and a sports room. Our college organises regular health campaigns to promote sports and health activities. It has a canteen for students and teaching staff. It provides decent food items at reasonable prices. It does not have any hostel facilities. Students have to find accommodation on their own.
Faculty: All teachers are well-trained, qualified, and knowledgeable. They provide decent educational aid to students. The course curriculum is relevant because it is based on the recent practices of the industry and business followed by the CBCS course.

A polite and small review of the college.
Placements: Actually we don't have any placements but our college is trying to bring companies as mentioned by the authorities. We don't have any placements now but I believe that in the future our college will have placements. At least the New Education Policy is enabling them to give internships to the students.
Infrastructure: We have AC classrooms and very good infrastructure. We have a very big library as well as an e-Library of our own. We are given good hostel facilities. Transport facility is also provided from the college to provide the hostel and the other way. I don't know about the mess food as I was not a hosteller. The canteen food is average. Sports and games are also average.
Faculty: The best thing of our college is the teachers, they are very much friendly and cooperative. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes the students industry ready. Moreover, the New Education Policy has made great changes to make the students industry ready.
