A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Com Courses at DAV School of Business Management

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Com courses:

* Limited number of companies visit: According to the students, only around 2-3 companies visit the campus for recruitment, with a few exceptions where students manage to secure internships themselves.
* Low selection rate: Students reported that only a handful of students get selected during these placements, often requiring a certain percentage of marks in academics.
* No guarantees: There is no guarantee of placement, and students need to actively pursue their own internships or jobs outside of the college's efforts.

While the college seems to focus on providing a supportive environment and decent infrastructure, its placement cell appears to struggle in securing top-notch job offers for its B.Com students.

Here's a breakdown of the key takeaways:

* Limited companies visit the campus for recruitment
* Low selection rate among those who attend the campus interviews
* No guarantees of placement
* Students must actively pursue their own internships or jobs outside of college efforts

Q:   Is B.Com at DAV School of Business Management a good choice?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current students and alumni, here's what we've gathered:

Pros:

* Good Faculty: Majority of the students agree that the teachers are well-qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. They provide detailed explanations and share additional resources to aid learning.
* Relevant Course Curriculum: The course structure is deemed relevant and industry-ready by many students. This prepares them well for internships and future careers.
* Infrastructure: The college has modern amenities, including air-conditioned classrooms, computer labs, and libraries. While some students mention room for improvement, overall, the infrastructure is considered satisfactory.
* Internship Opportunities: Almost all students secure internships, which is seen as a valuable experience in gaining practical knowledge and building connections.

Cons:

* Placement Statistics: Although some students were placed, the overall placement rate is relatively low, and some companies may not recruit directly from the college.
* Food Quality: Unfortunately, some students report subpar food quality in the hostel mess and canteen.
* Limited Placement Opportunities: Not all students receive direct placement offers from the college, and some may need to explore external opportunities.

Overall Assessment:

While B.Com at DAV School of Business Management has its strengths, particularly in terms of faculty and infrastructure, the placement record leaves something to be desired. Students considering this programme should weigh these factors carefully and research potential career paths and employment outcomes.

Recommendation:

For those interested in pursuing B.Com at DAV School of Business Management, we recommend focusing on developing strong relationships with professors, taking advantage of internship opportunities, and exploring alternative job prospects beyond direct placements. Additionally, evaluating the college's plans to address areas for improvement, such as food quality and placement rates, might be beneficial when making an informed decision about enrolling.

If you're opting for studies and not campus life then this is the best.
Placements: Almost 50-60% of students are placed in renowned companies like Motilal Oswal, DE shaw, godrej, ICICI Bank and etc. Here we not only taught bookish knowledge but also practical skill and soft skills. All students are given internships in government sectors too for gaining work experience.
Infrastructure: No hostel for girls. Classrooms are good with Wi-Fi and white boards. The campus is small so no dream of campus life can be expected here. Food quality is good but there is no class aesthetic cafeteria we expect to sit and eat it's just like a stall. No medical facility I've seen personally and there is space for sports and etc.
Faculty: Here the faculty members are the best. Friendly and commutative, kind and loving nature and very helpful. Curriculum is advanced and taught to us with ppts and personalized study materials. As it is under utkal university, the semester exams are easy if you study and moderate if you not!
Other: Here many seminar and webinar are conducted and expert talks too. Literary seminar and fest are also conducted. Brand building programs are done.

It is not an outstanding college, but it has value for money.
Placements: Top recruiters of DSBM are IndusInd Bank, Mahindra Bank, D.E. Shaw, Amber, Godrej, etc. The highest salary package offered by D.E. Shaw is 21.5 LPA. There are a lot of internship opportunities. Top recruiters in 2022 were D. E. Shaw and Tata Power. PPOs are offered.
Infrastructure: The hostel is available for boys. There are air-conditioned classrooms with an advanced computer lab. Wi-Fi is available. A library is available with all the required books. An air-conditioned conference hall is available. A mini-conference hall is available for small meetings. A canteen facility is available.
Faculty: Teachers are great. The course curriculum is very relevant. Many presentations and events are conducted to develop our skills. Exams don't seem difficult because of the notes provided, which are very useful. Teachers are experienced in this field.

Honest review of my college DSBM.
Placements: The placements are of 50–60% chance, and they offer both in-campus and off-campus placements. Students need to prove to themselves that they are eligible for the job and submit their curriculum vitae to the respective office. They also offer summer internship programmes at our colleges.
Infrastructure: In our college, we do have hostels that offer three-time food at a reasonable price. But as usual, the quality of the food they give is not up to par, and the taste is average. Students prefer to eat outside the campus since they don't like the food given their.
Faculty: The teachers are very qualified and talented, and they are very knowledgeable and helpful too. They like to teach us and clear our doubts anytime during the day during class hours as well as off time. The semester exams are not that difficult since their is a 99% chance of passing them.
Other: I chose this career since it is my interest and I want to do CA after B.Com.

DAV School of Business Management is great for graduation.
Placements: Placement opportunities are average. Very few companies come for placements. The package offered by each company depends on the job role. The course (graduation) offers entry level jobs with a starting salary of 15,000 to 22,000. The college prepares the students to face interviews but the placements are average. Students can job hunt themselves also.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-equipped with projectors and speakers and air conditioners. The campus is relatively small but is good. The campus has Wi-Fi access. The library has all the books one might need for their course and these are updated with the latest edition. There is a huge playground for sports activities and other cultural programs.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly experienced. The curriculum is designed to enhance communication skills. Students are asked to participate in organizing seminars which gives them a real world lesson on management. Apart from the regular course, the college makes sure that each student is ready to face the interviews by conducting workshops and activities.
Other: The best thing about the course and the college as a whole is the opportunity that each student gets, to enhance their skills for the real world. Students learn a lot form these experiences and come out with great public speaking skills, management skills and technical skills.

We have the benefits of having government and private facilities in one college.
Placements: I got 88 percent in my +2 and placed here. The highest package is 21.5 LPA and the lowest is 3 LPA up to date. Many companies are recruiting like ICICI Bank, DE Shaw, and many more domestic and foreign companies. There is no percent required for an internship only an interview and CV. Mostly finance, and HR roles are offered.
Infrastructure: There are more than expected facilities provided in this college. I'm glad to study over here. The infrastructure is not that good but the faculty members are extravagant. There are labs, a library, a big field, clubs, etc. Good quality facilities are given to the hostelers. The canteen provides hygienic food. Numbers of sports and perfect medical facilities are provided.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified with extra skills which help students to do the same work and improve the students' skills. The course curriculum is relevant and makes every student relevant. The exams are not that difficult and the passing percentage is 30% which is very much easy for each student.
Other: I chose this course for getting several opportunities after my graduation. Every event is being organised here. From sports day, annual fest, every cultural event, and many more.

Honest review of our college dsbm.
Placements: Usually the students go for higher studies after B.Com since it is a undergraduate course and there is small scope for placements in big companies. Anyways some top recruiters come for placements like de shaw Nestled etc. The highest package of dsbm is 22 Lacs.
Infrastructure: Hardware Desktops and laptops for students and staff, smart classrooms, and computer labs Software High configuration serve room and serve for uploading and storming information Other facilities Library, sports complex, air-conditioned classrooms, Wi-Fi, conference hall, mini-conference hall, and canteen Accessibility Wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot.
Faculty: The teachers of dsbm are highly qualified and helpful towards students and are cooperative everytime. The teaching quality is top notch. The teaching quality is also good and understanding. The difficult level of the semester exams is not that tough and every student can qualify in each semesters.
Other: Since I'm from commerce background in my class 12. So I continue my studies with commerce stream. Our course is best for those who have a keen interest in business, accounting, finance, economics etc. They conduct various events every week. Sports day is celebrated every year so that students can show their skills in sports etc.
