B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) - Batch of 2027

Good infrastructure, good exposure, decent faculty, poor placements and curriculum.
Placements: The campus placement is almost nil. However, students manage to get placed at good places on their own. The highest package of last year was 16 LPA. Students get placed as associates in law firms or as law clerks. Some government organizations like ONGC also provide placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent with spacious classes installed with projectors. The faculty has different activity rooms like a conference hall, moot court room, committee room, students' lounge, library, etc. The campus is very beautiful. The hostels are also good. Each hostel has a gym facility, common room with sports equipment, mess, and reading hall.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified but not much helpful except a few. The course is very conventional and lacks practical skill improvement. The semester exams are pretty easy as there are mostly repetitive questions from the previous years. The passing percentage is almost 90%.

The faculty of law in JMI is one of the best in the country; one must consider admission.
Placements: Approximately 30-40% of students get placement, and others generally opt for judiciary and litigation. Internship opportunities are plenty in Delhi, and the lowest package is 3 lakhs while the highest package is 18 lakhs. However, you have to grind for good placements. The average placement here is around 7 lakhs.
Infrastructure: The whole college campus has free Wi-Fi with excellent speed, and the facilities available in hostels depend upon the hostel allotted to you. Some hostels are good while others are very bad. The food quality is very good, and there are many paid canteens inside the university, so one can get food of their choice and refreshments. Additionally, the college is well connected by road and metro. The libraries here are large, spacious, and have many books.
Faculty: Teachers here are extremely knowledgeable and qualified with experience, and they teach well. However, the majority of faculty are guest and visiting faculty. Semester exams are lengthy, and one has to study pretty well to score good marks and grades. The pass percentage is almost 90%.
Other: I chose this course to obtain a law degree and take the judiciary exams, with the aim of trying to reform something in the field of law in India and helping needy people to get justice. Additionally, the college should build more student-friendly hostels and buildings with spacious classrooms and good connectivity with other faculties. More fests and festivals should also be celebrated to bring inclusiveness and harmony.

Review of Law Faculty, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
Placements: 8 students were placed out of 60. The highest package is 16 LPA, with ONGC as the top recruiting company. Many students did internships under different branches. The course is mainly judiciary and UPSC oriented. The NIRF ranking is 5th all over India, with companies such as Trilegal and Shardul being top recruiters.
Infrastructure: There is a separate, fully air-conditioned library at our faculty with several databases, including Manupatra, SCC Online, HeinOnline, Live Law, etc. Classrooms are spacious and fully air-conditioned. A canteen facility is also available, and there is an elevator.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and cooperative, assisting in every phase. The teaching method is unique and impressive. Semester exams are the best way to judge students' academic performance. The pass percentage is 50% marks in each subject. This course is relevant and more inclined toward judiciary and UPSC.
Other: Various fests are organized, such as Enactus and Zephyr. The 10th Jamia National Moot Court Competition was organized in 2023.

Placement is very bad, but the faculty are good and talented, and students are very cooperative.
Placements: Till now, there have been no placements except for two to three students, but some permanent faculty members are trying to bring top companies that will provide placements. However, it will take time for implementation. The highest package goes to 5 LPA, the average ranges from 3 to 4 LPA, and the lowest is 2 LPA. No top companies come, and many students secure internships on their own, as neither faculty nor teachers help in obtaining them. The top roles offered are as legal associates.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure facilities are average, but the classrooms are not air-conditioned. There is Wi-Fi and a separate air-conditioned library where students can issue books according to their preference. The hostel infrastructure is above average, with two halls containing multiple hostels and two canteens, one in each hall. In one hall, there is space available for playing, while in the other, there is no space for recreation. The quality of food is average and varies from hostel to hostel due to different contractors, resulting in differing tastes and menus.
Faculty: Teachers are generally good and talented, except for a few. The course is designed for judiciary practice, but it may not suit those wanting to enter the corporate sector. Semester exams are quite difficult, as the questions asked are both problem-based and theory-based, requiring students to be familiar with providing both types of answers. The pass percentage is 35%.
Other: I chose this course because I want to become an independent lawyer. The best aspect is its prime location in Delhi, which offers multiple internship opportunities. Everything is good, but placements are very poor; I wish they would improve in both quality and quantity. While the placement situation is concerning, there is a very competitive environment for mooting, presentations, article publishing, debating, and many other extracurricular activities.
