Review of Faculty of Law, University of Calcutta.

Placements: There is no placement cell at the university of law. All students should practice in court, which you can call an internship. Students practice in many courts, like Baruipur Court, Howrah Court, Barasat Court, etc. After completing their B.A. LL.B., some students go practice in court and some students do a master of law.

One of The best college to study.

Placements: There is no such package offered in our course. There is no programme has been held where top companies will recruit us. 50-60% got internship in companies like Fox and Mondal, Khaitan, Nisith Desai law firm, S. Advocates, R. L. Law firm, Sarkar law firm etc.

It is a good college in terms of studies but not the campus.

Placements: Our college doesn't provide placements but it trains students so that they get jobs very easily. Most of the judges of the High Court of Calcutta are qualified from the department of law, University of Calcutta. Passing from CU is an achievement in itself.

The college consists of moot court society, debating society, magazine committee, legal aid clinic.

Placements: Placements in my batch had not yet been started. Few firms came for direct placements. Which hires almost 15-20 students. 20-30 students directly joins firms where they intern during their semester. 15-20 students from each batch go for higher studies. Few go for judiciary preparation and the rest go for litigation. (So we can say that out of batch of 120 students 30-40 students joins any firm/company. 20 students go higher studies. 20 students go for judiciary preparation out of which atleast 5...

Satisfied with the college as it has good facilities.

Placements: In this course, you have to crack different exams. The bar council examination will register you as an advocate if you pass. Every student can do internships provided by our college or one can do on their own in their preferred courts.

I am satisfied with this college because it provided good placements in 2019.

Placements: About 80-90% of the students from our course got placed. I don't know about the highest and the lowest salary package offered to the students. I am offered a salary package of 2.4 LPA. Hexaware is among the top recruiting companies that visit our campus for placements. About 70% of students from our courses got an internship in various companies. The top role is of a typist in our course.

Review of Faculty of Law, University of Calcutta.

Placements: There is a centralised placement cell for all the students under the university which isn't much helpful in facilitating the placements for students of law. In the previous year, a placement cell (IIPC) has been initiated and it was able to achieve placements in PWC for 10 students.

Slightly dissatisfied with placement opportunities, but good infrastructure, faculty and campus.

Placements: I heard that our college provides internships. Several law firms are available where students can apply. Seniors do help us a lot in internships. I do hope that our university provides us with more placement offers.

It is an old university, but still, it is excellent in modern times.

Placements: Many students don't go for the placement drive as most of them make some arrangements on their own. Some of them prepare for competitive exams, and a few opt for higher education in abroad. However, our college tries its best to place all the interested and needy students. In our course, the salary package offered ranges from 1.42 LPA to 4.5 LPA. Mostly PSUs visit our college, but also a few law firms also hire students. Top roles offered to the students are assistant researcher and associate. N...

Good infrastructure but lack of placements.

Placements: As such the college does not have any provisions regarding campus interviewing and does not provide job opportunities. One has to pursue his career in law upon his own merits. There are various arenas in law-one can go for judiciary as well as choose to be a solicitor in a firm.

Cu law, best place to pursue law.

Placements: The placement facilities are not good. Since this a government college where you don't get a good placement. You have to find your place since that college gives you a lot of knowledge and experience, which will help your future. Now a day the culture of placement is growing in the college.
