    A:
    {Source: B.Des students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Des Programs at FDDI Noida

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's an overview of the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Des programs at FDDI Noida:

    * Limited opportunities: Most students agree that the college does not offer good placement opportunities for Fashion Design (B.Des) students. While some companies visit the campus, the number of job offers is limited.
    * Focus on self-hustle: Faculty members advise students to rely more on individual efforts and networking to secure jobs, rather than expecting significant support from the college.
    * Portfolio and CV requirements: The placement cell asks students to prepare a standardized portfolio and CV, indicating a lack of personalized attention or guidance during the recruitment process.

Satisfied with course content and infrastructure, but the fee is a little bit more.
Placements: There are very good companies who recruit, but there are also some companies who just want salesmen. I don't think after spending money on the course anybody wants to do a job as a salesman in any store. Companies like Decathlon, Aditya Birla Group, Reliance Footwear, Nykaa, Mirza Groups, etc., are some top companies that come for hiring. The course offers you jobs like designer, buyer, merchandiser, fashion forecaster, quality control, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good; there is a new building under construction, which is a new incubation center. I personally like the infrastructure and the course. The hostel mess is also good. The course we are studying is made by IITians. Wi-Fi covers the whole campus.
Faculty: Teachers are very qualified; they have knowledge about their subject and the industry. Yes, it makes the students industry-ready. Practical work and theory are also well planned. I think out of 20, you need to score 7 to pass the exam. Orthopedic shoes making is one of the high demands these days, and it is in the course.
Other: I chose this course to become a footwear designer. This course is very rare in India.

Our college has good faculty members.
Placements: Our college provides good placements. Top recruiting companies are Uniqlo, Puma, Adidas shoppers, etc. Our college provides internships. Before COVID, there were nice placements on this campus but post-COVID, it dipped a bit but it's on its way to the top again.
Infrastructure: Our college has some of the best machines compared to other colleges. Our college provides us with many facilities like a Wi-Fi facility, labs, classrooms, and a library. The hostel facilities are not good. There is a lack of cleanliness in the hostel. The food served in the mess is not good.
Faculty: Our faculty members are the best, well-experienced, and helpful. The curriculum and syllabus have been revised last year to make them more design-centric, but before there was specialisation like production design or marketing. Semester exams are moderate and depend on the student's preparation.
Other: I opted for the footwear design course because in FDDI footwear is the main course and it gives us complete knowledge about footwear and its aspects. Our college provides various scholarships for students. Events are held in our college. Our college location is very accessible to the city. The hostel facilities should be improved.

Infrastructure: Facilities of the college are very good Wi-Fi is not work properly but the classrooms and library also good as well as the computer labs and more Labs sir good. You can go anytime to the library and take a book any book you want Quality of acidity in hostel is called good rooms are sufficient everything is good just the food is not that much good.

Review of Footwear Design and Development Institute.
Placements: Around 40-45% of students are placed. The average salary offered ranges from Rs 15,000 - Rs 20,000 per month. The highest salary offered ranges from Rs 40,000 - Rs 45,000 per month. This college gets the highest number of placements.
Infrastructure: Laboratories and classrooms are well-equipped with the latest technologies but maintenance is poor. Students get Wi-Fi facilities on the campus, and there is an IT laboratory with good facilities. The library is small but useful. The hostel facilities are available with mess and average food quality is provided. It has a garden area on both sides of the hostel. There is also a basketball ground and badminton area and other extracurricular activities are also available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, and laboratory workers are well trained. Course curriculum is relevant. They give good training to students to be industry-ready, but students need to develop other software skills and work on it. Students could not be dependent on campus placements. Exams are not difficult if students attend classes regularly, they need to get atleast 6 CGPA to pass on to the next semester.
Other: This course will be valuable in the coming future. This college is famous for its footwear and merchandising field and also students get an international testing center here. Students will get an overall experience of how this industry works. Laboratory maintenance and facilities could be improved. There is also useful webinar and events. The campus crowd is average. Surroundings are good and peaceful.

It is a good college, and it gives its student equal chances.
Placements: The average percentage of students get placements from this college. The highest salary package offered ranges from 50 LPA - 60 LPA depending on students' skills and course. Aditya Birla Group, Zara, Future group, etc., are the top recruiting companies. Students get their internships on the basis of their skills and talent.
Infrastructure: The campus is big, but it is not well maintained. They get staff building, acad block main building, audit, mess 1 boy's hostel, and 2 girls hostels. The mess food is not good. The canteen is small, and the campus is situated on the outskirts.
Faculty: In this college, teachers are excellent and helpful. They do give their students industry visits for the knowledge. Semester exams are not that hard. Students will get a lot of submissions. Teachers help students with that, but they have to think something outside of the box to get noticed.

    The worst for fashion students.
Placements: The college doesn't offer good placement for Fashion Students. Footwear students do have some good opportunity. The faculty literally advice everyone to hustle on their own and to expect least from the college. Just for the records the ask everyone to make same portfolio and CV.
Infrastructure: Hostel and mess is very good, the mess food is good too. College infrastructure is nice but the labs for fashion students are not well functioning (like GC lab, the main lab) and some of the tools and other equipment they don't with them and some are restricted to use.
Faculty: For fashion they have only 3 faculty in which 7-9 subjects are distributed. And one of the faculty never come in the class to teach. He always say I am to busy to take your class and send some senior to teach us. In short, all the 3 faculty will teach you nothing, I repeat nothing and in return will ask a lot of submissions from you.
