Review of GKM College of Engineering and Technology (GKMCET).

Placements: Around 80 to 95% of the students got selected in the campus placement drive. They are offered with sufficient salary and good fieldwork. People got higher salaries. Our college gives training for placements, branch training, workshops, taught good communication skills, etc.

Good infrastructure and facilities, and they should concentrate more on placements.

Placements: The placement is one of the disadvantages for marine engineering cadets. Students are mostly placed only in small companies, or else, we have to try jobs outside of this field. There are many companies conducting exams. Some are Synergy, Walem etc. Even if we want to get placed, we have to gain good knowledge to move forward.

It is a good college, but teaching is average.

Placements: Students who got placed from our course are very low because they don't have sufficient resources. The highest salary package offered is 5 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA and the average salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. There are no top recruitment companies in our college. Roles are offered to the students based on what we have studied.

Don't waste your life by joining this college.

Placements: I completed BE (ECE) in GKM College. I joined in 2015, and at that time, it was a good college. But now the college management is the worst. They charge money from the students in the form of penalty, and they develop the college infrastructure. Except for the marine department, all other departments are totally waste. You can't expect any placements from this college. They will charge money for placement training, but it is a total waste of money. Companies will visit here for campus drives. On...

Placements: Around 29 students were placed in my course. The average salary offered was up-to around 70,000/-. Tata was the top most company for recruiting. The highest role offered is as chief engineer and average package was 1,00,000/-. Around and over 42 have got internship and have been placed in the top companies.

A good place to learn and also NCC is a big advantage in my college.

Placements: 75 % of students got placed in my course. The lowest salary offered was 8000 per month. Few top companies hired students. 8000 per month was the lowest salary offered for my course. Most of the students got the internship. One can go to that college because many companies are recruiting and offering a good position for freshers, but the salary is very minimum in the probation period.

This is an average college for marine engineering with reasonable fee.

Placements: Placements are not offered by the college. But from this year, they are offering placements in supply vessels. Most of our seniors have got jobs via an agent or by clearing the exams. The minimum salary offered for a junior engineer in the ship was around Rs. 15,000 per month, and the maximum offered was around Rs. 80,000 per month as this varies on ships.

Infrastructure facilities are satisfactory, bad placements in 2018, dissatisfied because of faculty.

Placements: Placements are provided for branches like CSE, IT, mechanical, ECE, and EEE. Percentage of students placed was about 35%. The salary offered ranges from Rs. 8000 per month to Rs. 14,000 per month. Companies like Wipro, TCS, Infosys, and some other famous franchises visited the campus. Generally, various profiles like BPO and few marketing profiles are offered to the students, which are not related to the course they study.

Absolutely dissatisfied with all aspects in the college.

Placements: There is no placement for us. They bring BPO companies only. No core companies are coming for my batch. Whenever we ask for a core company, they are saying us to wait repeatedly. No action was taken for placements for our department and placement cell. Some companies came before our batch and in that only two people got selected.

Mercenary college - Not advisable.

Placements: Placements opportunity is less only. Out of 10 people 2 or 3 only will only get eligible for the interview coz the low marks. The highest package which students got is 3L P. A and lower is 1.2L P. A. When says about companies mostly non IT and management related organisation is only coming like CSC, Sriram chit fund.

The worst college to study.

Placements: The college has no placement for Aero department. They will still make you to seat with the other department placements which was happened in 2015. It's better that you don't choose this college for your career. All I want say is that just escape yourself from this college before joining.

It was a below average college with a bad placement records.

Placements: In this current scenario, the placement is like climbing Himalayas, and we cannot say the fault is of the college because industrial peoples have changed as the college placed only a few candidates. In our college, just 5-10% got placed. The Tech Mahindra, CSS Corp, Sutherland were the only companies that came, and only 10-20 candidates got selected. Around 50% of students gone for the internship with their reference only, anyway the college doesn't oppose that. No stipend was provided for the s...
