This college will not provide great career opportunities; you have to do it on your own.

Placements: Less than 5% of students are placed, and the highest package is 5.6 LPA, while the lowest package is 2.4 LPA. Top recruitment companies are Pisoft and some small-scale companies. Less than 10% of students got internships from our course at Pisoft, and the top roles offered are designer and website developer.

This college is only for getting a degree.

Placements: Very few companies came for placements till now. Recently, 2 local companies visited our college for the placement drive. Placement packages were low. Internships from the college are poor. Only 1-5% of students get placements through on-campus placement drives.

The best students of Jammu and Kashmir are here, but the administration needs to be changed.

Placements: I'm in the 7th semester right now, and only a startup with 14 posts have conducted on-campus placements till now. The competing colleges provide funds for AMCAT and Co-Cubes exams regularly while ours didn't. Last year, the training and placement cell even posted the names of students qualifying for government and navy examinations as they qualified because of college.

I am not satisfied with our college overall.

Placements: The placements at this college are not satisfactory. The percentage of students who get placements is very low. I think for students who get placements, the salary package offered is below 5 LPA. Very few firms visit here. Wipro used to visit the college.

Course curriculum is average.

Placements: Mostly IT companies come in the college. If other branches need placement then there is less than 10% chance of getting the placement through college. Infosys, suzuki, Tata, IOCL is the major companies that comes in the college. Don't expect more from this college.

I suggest you not consider this college as the first choice. However, it is not much bad also.

Placements: Placements in this college are average, and there are opportunities but are not widespread. Many students have been placed in the past also, and almost 10-20 students from every batch get placed every year. Salary packages offered are not high. However, if students are talented and will work hard, there are ample opportunities for them. TCS iON and HCL are the companies which have recruited students from our college in the past. Internships are also available through off-campus placements, but s...

I am dissatisfied with this college.

Placements: The placements are very less in our college. Every year, mostly 2 to 3 companies visit the campus for placements. Every year, the placement percentage will be 10%. The salary package is also very low, and it is about 2 to 3 lacs per annum. Big companies never visit the campus for placements as only small companies visit the campus. Only fewer students will get internship opportunity from college, and its percentage is also very low.

Not at all satisfied with the placements and infrastructure. The faculty members are good.

Placements: The placements are not high. Only a few companies come here. The placements are almost negligible. Companies come to the college to recruit students without offering any huge package. I request our college to invite more companies so that the students can get placed.

GCET, Jammu is good but not the best. It should be an option only if you don't get JEE or NEET.

Placements: The placements records of GCET, Jammu are not good. Less than 10% of the students got placed with an average package of Rs. 3 LPA. The packages vary from Rs. 1 LPA to Rs. 7LPA. Being the only state government run engineering college, it is popular in Jammu and Kashmir.

A discouraging college for any computer loving person.

Placements: The placements at GCET are not good. A maximum of 2 companies visited the campus for placements. A total of around 10-15 students got placed. The average package here is Rs. 3.5 lacs per annum. The highest package is Rs. 5 lacs per annum. Mostly, TCS and Wipro visit the campus. They have to do it on their own. The roles offered to the students from the companies are mainly consultancy work related. Placement is only for computer science, electronics and communication, and mechanical branches. ...

GCET JAMMU College review.

Placements: There is no placement in this college. The placement cell is dead in this college no job is offered on this campus after 2021. Before that, there were government jobs and IT jobs on campus. There are many opportunities off-campus, but that would be really up to you and your abilities.

It is a good institute with some compromises.

Placements: The placement opportunities provided here are good. If you have the skillset and do hard work, you could bag a salary package of around 3 LPA-4 LPA. Most of the recruiters here are small companies. However, a few students are provided with opportunities in leading companies such as TCS, Wipro, etc.

It is a good college, but there is a lack of teachers and development.

Placements: We are quite unaware of placements because we had not been visited the college for above a year. We are in the 3rd semester, so we don't know anything about the placements, salary packages, companies, etc.

The college is having an average infrastructure and average teaching staff.

Placements: Placements are not good at all as the companies do not come in regular basis and also the payscale provided by the companies are not sufficient. Also college do not have the required staff and the number of permanent staff members are very few. My suggestion for the students is that it is a quite average college.
