JKCET 2025 exam is expected to be held in June 2025. In 2023 and 2022, the exam was cancelled and the admisison was made on the basis of 10+2 marks only. However, in 2024, the test was held in offline mode. The candidates are advised to check the JKCET dates to ensure that no events are missed out. What is JKCET?
Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) is a pen and paper-based state-level entrance exam. The exam is conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) to fill up the UG engineering seats offered in various government and private institutes in J&K. The exam is held for candidates who have passed or are passing 10+2 examinations in the current year as that of the exam. 10+2 level questions are asked in the entrance test from physics, maths and chemistry. The allotment of seats in various institutes is based on JKCET scores, reservations and preferences submitted by the candidates. The seats are allotted via an online counselling process.

JKCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria must be checked before applying for the JKCET exam. The JKCET eligibility is given below:
Domicile: Candidates must have the domicile certificate of UT of J&K or ST certificate issued by a competent Authority of UT of Ladakh to be treated as a Domicile certificate of UT of Ladakh.
Age: There is no upper age bar for appearing in the Entrance Test for admission to Engineering Courses, both in Government and Private Colleges.
Qualification: Candidates must
- have passed Hr. Sec. Part II (12th/10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised statutory Board/University.
- have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations in Physics, Chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects having 45% marks for Open Merit Category candidates, including the Children of Defence Personnel, Children of Para-Military Forces, Children of Police personnel, Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) of UT of J&K/Ladakh and candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in Sports. 40% marks for the reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST and other Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (PSP/IB/RBA/ALC/OSC).

JKCET 2025 Application Form
Candidates have to apply for JKCET in online mode on the official website.
The application form can be completed using the steps below:

Application fee: INR 1200 to be paid using the online payment method (“Integrated Payment Gateway” with the help of any National Credit Card/Debit Card/facility).
Documents to be uploaded in the online application form: All the documents to be uploaded in the online form must be s from 100-200 KB in size.
- Certificate of residence proof of domicile UT of J&K or Ladakh as the case may be
- Marks certificate of the qualifying examination issued by the concerned Board
- Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate indicating Date of Birth issued by the respective Boards
- The category candidates claiming benefit of any reserved category including Sports, JKPM, CDP and TFW have to upload a copy of their category certificate along with the Online Application Form within the prescribed last date. However, their eligibility shall be considered at par with Open Merit candidates.
Photo/Signature/Thumb Impression:
- The candidates have to upload a recent Photo a scanned copy of the Signature and Thumb Impression.
- The maximum size of the photograph/signature/thumb impression to be from 10 - 50 KB.

Candidates can check some useful tips to prepare for the JKCET exam here:
- Students must start their JKCET preparation early. It will help them to complete the syllabus timely, clear doubts, revise it thoroughly and appear for the mock tests.

JKCET 2025 Admission Process
The admission process for JKCET is as follows:
- Applying for JKCET 2025: Candidates have to apply for admission as per their eligibility.
- Download JKCET admit card: Registered candidates can download the admit card under their respective logins.
- Appear for JKCET exam 2025: Candidates have to appear for the entrance exam in offline mode from the centre allotted to them.
- Announcement of result: JKCET 2025 result is announced online, candidates can login to the official website and download their scorecard.
- Attend counselling: As per the counselling schedule, candidates have to attend the counselling.
JKCET 2025 Admit Card
JKCET admit card will be available online. The candidates have to download their admit cards from the BOPEE official website (www.jkbopee.gov.in) on photo paper printed in colour. No candidate shall be allowed to enter the examination centre/venue without a valid admit card in original. The allotted exam centre is mentioned via the admit card. Also, the JKCET admit card will have important exam day instructions, reporting time and other important details. Candidates who do not possess the admit card are not allowed to sit in the examination hall under any circumstances. This card must be shown on demand as and when asked at the exam hall. Also, candidates must preserve the admit card until the admission process is over.
JKCET 2025 Exam Day Instructions
Candidates can check below some important exam day instructions:
- The examination centres will open 35 minutes before the reporting time of the Entrance Test on the day of the examination.
- Candidates are expected to be in their seats at the reporting time of the Entrance Test.
- No textual material, printed/ handwritten will be allowed in the Examination hall. Candidates are advised not to carry any such material in the examination hall.
- No candidate shall be allowed to enter the examination hall to appear in the examination after the distribution of answer sheets.
- The candidates are not allowed to bring mobile phones/calculators/pocket transistors/electronic watches with facilities of calculator/slide rules, any form of table or any other such aid.
- Tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks are not allowed in the examination hall during the JKCET exam. Smoking in the examination hall is not allowed.
Tentative Time Schedule to be Followed on the JKCET Exam Day
On the day of the exam, candidates have to follow the below-given process as per the set schedule:

The Invigilator shall ascertain the identity of each candidate by comparing their facial appearance with the photograph given on the admit card and attendance sheet. JKCET 2025 Answer Key
After the conclusion of JKCET, the answer key shall be uploaded on the BOPEE website on the evening of the date of conduct of the test, or up to 12 noon on the next day, The JKCET answer key is made available on the website for three days so that a candidate finding any discrepancy in the JKCET question paper and answer key can submit representation along with proper proof from standard textbook within three working days after the test is over.
To challenge the JKCET answer key, candidates have to visit the BOPEE’s office at Srinagar or Jammu accompanied by a payment receipt of INR 1000 per representation per paper. The challenge fee is to be paid at the POS terminal at the J&K BOPEE office in Jammu/Srinagar.
Final JKCET 2025 answer key: The representations will be consolidated and referred to the experts whose opinions will be final. The revised key, if any, will be uploaded on the BOPEE’s website and thereafter no complaint will be entertained.
JKCET 2025 Result
The JKCET result is published on the website, jkbopee.gov.in. Candidates can check the result under their respective logins. Also, Candidates not satisfied with their scores in the exam can request for re-totalling of marks. Re-totalling of marks is allowed on written request accompanied by the payment receipt of INR 1000 paid at the POS terminal at J&K BOPEE Srinagar/Jammu. The application is accepted within 03 (three) days after the declaration of the result. Any application, received after this date shall not be entertained.
JKCET 2025 Qualifying Marks: The minimum mark to qualify the JKCET 2025 exam is 10. A candidate having scored less than 10 marks on the entrance test shall not be considered for admission.
JKCET 2025 Counselling
The candidates who qualify in JKCET can submit the online/offline preference forms for JKCET counselling. The online/offline preference form enables a candidate to fill in the preferences for various disciplines/institutions for allotment of seats for admission in BE/BTech Engineering courses in the government and private colleges of the UT of J&K /Ladakh. JKCET counselling will have 2 rounds and one mop-up round. A final, special counselling round can be held if needed.
JKCET 2025 counselling process:
- Registration: Candidates will initially be required to enter the requisite/mandatory details for registration and obtain the password for subsequent login into the website. After login, candidates can view their Personal Details and CET Score by clicking on Personal Profile.
- Fill preferences: Next, candidates have to fill out the preference form and lock the preferences before the last date. Candidate can add and delete preferences anytime but before the last date and before locking their preferences. During the online/offline filling up of the Preference Form, the candidates will get all the details of the disciplines available viz-a-viz the institutions.
- Make fee payment: Candidates will be given an option to “make payment” of the fee online only after the choices are locked, Fee must be paid before the last date of submission.
- Print the form: Candidates are advised to take a printout of the preferences they have selected by clicking on “Print Application Form” and retain a copy of the same.
