JKCET 2025: Exam Date, Registration, Eligibility, Syllabus, Pattern, Admit Card, Selection Process

JKCET 2025 exam is expected to be held in June 2025. In 2023 and 2022, the exam was cancelled and the admisison was made on the basis of 10+2 marks only. However, in 2024, the test was held in offline mode. The candidates are advised to check the JKCET dates to ensure that no events are missed out. The exam date is announced by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) officially.

JKCET 2025 application form will be out in May 2025. Eligible candidates can fill out the JKCET application form. JKCET application process consists of registration, filling out the form, uploading documents and payment of the fee. Incomplete and invalid applications are rejected. Before filling out the form, the candidates are advised to check the official eligibility criteria. 

JKCET is held annually, that is once a year. Jammu and KashmirCommon Entrance Test (JKCET) is a pen and paper based state level entrance exam. The exam is conducted by Jammu and KashmirBoard of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) to fill up the UG engineering seats offered in various government and private institutes in J&K.

JKCET exam is held in offline mode for 3 hours duration. There are three sections in the JKCET question paper namely - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The exam pattern is as follows:

• Mode of Exam: Pen-and-Paper-Based Test

• Duration: 3 Hours

• Medium of Exam: English

• Type of Questions: Multiple-Choice Questions

• Sections: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

• Total Number of Questions: 180

• Marking Scheme: 1 mark will be given for every correct answer. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

In JKCET, candidates have to attempt Multiple-Choice Questions.  JKCET is held in offline, pen and paper based mode in english language only. There is no upper age bar for appearing in JKCET for admission to Engineering Courses, both in Government and Private Colleges. However, candidates must have the domicile certificate of UT of J&K or ST certificate issued by a competent Authority of UT of Ladakh be treated as the Domicile certificate of UT of Ladakh and 10+2 passed/passing in the curren year of JKCET exam.

There are no provisions for correction in details filled in the online JKCET application form. Once the application form is submitted and the application fee is paid, the forms cannot be accessed for editing or any sort of correction. Therefore candidates must carefully read, fill and submit the JKCET application form. The details in the application form will be used in admit card, the result and also in the final admission/counselling. Hence the candidates must be very cautious while submitting the JKCET form. Check all details twice before the final submission of the form.

The applicants of JKCET can check the status of their application on the official website. If any form status is not confirmed, the candidate concerned must report in the BOPEE  office by or before the stipulated date fixed for this purpose in the admission notification, failing which their application form shall be rejected.

Candidates have to fill the below details in the JKCET application form:

• Candidate’s name
• Candidate’s father's name
• Date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format
• A valid email id and mobile number
• Academic details
• Complete address of correspondence and permanent address
• Select the exam centre

After completing all the formalities, candidates will receive the application number on the registered email id.

Using the JKCET question papers from last year candidates can understand the difficulty level of the questions, marking scheme etc. Practising the JKCET question papers is helpful in exam preparation.  It will aid them in understanding the nature of questions, time management and more.

As per the marking scheme of JKCET, 1 marks is awarded for each correct answer and for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks is deducted. Each 3 section of the question paper has 60 questions and has mamximum 60 marks. The, maximum marks in total is thus 180.

The topics asked in JKCET exam in the physics section are: Physical world and measurement, Kinematics Laws of motion, Work, energy and power, Motion of system of particles and rigid body, Gravitation, Properties of bulk matter, Thermodynamics, Behavior of perfect gas and Kinetic theory, Oscillations and waves, Electrostatics Current electricity, Magnetic effects of current and magnetism, Electromagnetic induction and alt. Currents, Electromagnetic waves, Optics, Dual nature of matter and radiation, Atoms and nuclei, Electronic devices, Communication system.

The topics that are asked in the JKCET exam in the maths section are: Sets, relations and functions, Complex number; linear inequation; linear programming, Sequence and series, permutation and combination & binomial theorem, Trigonometric and inverse trigonometry functions, Matrices and determinants, Limit, continuity and differentiation, Integration and differential equations, Straight lines and conic sections, Statistics and probability, Vectors and three dimensional geometry.

The topics that are asked in the JKCET exam in the chemistry section are: Chemical arithmetic & atomic structure, Chemical equilibrium, Chemical kinetics, Solutions, Chemical thermodynamics, Redox reactions and electrochemistry, Solid state & states of matter, Surface chemistry, Periodic properties, Chemical bonding and molecular structure, Chemistry of representative elements, Transition elements including lanthanoides, Co-ordination chemistry, Nomenclature and basic concepts in organic chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Organic chemistry based on functional group-i, Organic chemistry based on function group-ii, Organic chemistry based on functional group-iii, Molecules of life Polymers.

The candidates have to download their admit cards from the BOPEE official website on photo paper printed in colour. No candidate shall be allowed to enter examination centre/venue without a valid admit card in original.

Candidates have to use application number and password to login and download the JKCET admit card.  Candidates need to visit the official website. Click on the admit card link. Candidates will have to provide their JKCET application number and password. Click on 'Submit'. JKCET admit card will appear on the screen in PDF format. The details available on the admit card have to be checked very carefully. Take the printout of it and keep it safe till the allotment of seats/completion of selection/admission process.
