A brief overview of GCET Jammu.

Placements: GCET Jammu does not have a percentage criteria for admission. However, students must qualify the JKCET exam to enter the college. The placement cell of GCET is average. Our college invites some top recruiting companies like TCS, PI-InfoCom, and AVI. The highest package offered in our course is 7 LPA, the average is 5 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA. The percentage of students who got internships from the college is very low.

Overview of GCET Jammu, JK.

Placements: Only 3% of students are placed in our batch. The highest package offered is 3 LPA, while the average package is 1.5 LPA; I have no information about the lowest package. There is just one company, PiSoft, that comes for recruitment. Students have secured internships at TCS. Various roles are offered in our course, including SDE (Software Development Engineer), Product Manager, Data Analyst, Cyber Analyst, and Officer in the defense forces of India.

It’s a good college, but not excellent. Placements should be increased in future.

Placements: The college is fine. The staff is also good but the placements are very poor. Packages offered range between 4-5 Lacs per annum. In my batch, many students got internships from different companies and institutes like NIC, DRDO and many other private companies. Offered roles in my course include that of software engineer, web developer, and others.

Review of Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu.

Placements: Top placements are around 7-8 lacs per annum; only 4-5 people got that much. Rest either got less than 3 LPAs or they didn't even bother to apply. Most students go for higher studies; overall, it's not advisable to depend on placements from colleges; the bare minimum of companies visit this college.

GCET Jammu: heaven for civil engineering.

Placements: The training and placement cell of our college works day and night to get students placed in the best companies The highest package offered to the student in our course was 6.5 LPA, and the average package is about 3.5–4 LPA. Topic outing companies for a course special in civil engineering. Almost 10–20% students get internship from higher institutions like IIT Jammu, IIT Mandi, etc. There are other students who got their internships from PWD Jammu. Excellent value for money college with good faculty but not that many great social life and events.

Placements: Only 6-7 people got placed in my branch out of 55 total. The lowest package in the college is 300,000, the highest can go up to 6 lacs, and the average package is also 300,000. There are no top companies recruiting at our college, just some local teaching companies. 5 students got internships from the batch and that too off campus. The roles offered are mostly web development.

infrastructure is good but needs maintenance.

Placements: This college has only a small percentage of students who have been placed. The average placement rate is between 3-5 lacs. Tata, Bharti, Infra Tel Ltd. and Afcon are the top recruiting firms. Approximately 30% of students receive internships at NHPC and power corporations.

Placements: I have heard from our seniors that there are placements but not many, and toppers are more preferred as usual. The highest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. Many companies like TCS, Mahindra, etc., visit our campus to hire students with a good salary.

If students are looking good placements with high packages, then it is not a good choice.

Placements: I have heard from our seniors that there are placements but not many, and toppers are more preferred as usual. The highest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. Many companies like TCS, Mahindra, and many visit our campus to hire students. But being a government college they offer high-quality courses free visits to IIT, link with AICTE, Chandigarh colleges. Overall, there is a good learning environment.

It is the best place for engineering in Jammu barring IIT.

Placements: I am from a mechanical course. Around 15-20% of the students from our course got placement. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2.1 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Ceasefire, Mahindra Finance and ICICI Bank visit our campus for placements. All the students did an internship in companies like Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki and Hydroelectric Power Stations.

The college is good and awesome .

Placements: As it is a government college so the seats are less and limited. Total 300 seats are available in all the streams. Who so ever clears the exam gets a seat here. The package offered here are very good and the value of the package is high. Only the deserving students get internship crossing the percentage of 80 per cent.

This is the best college. Various industrial trips to explore the industry.

Placements: Placements of mechanical is less and when it comes to packages they are also low. But our training and placements cell committee is really making efforts to get us well placed in terms of quality of job and packages. Last year a company arrived and took students of mechanical too in design Field.

Dissatisfied about infrastructure, normal placement scenario, good faculty and students

Placements: The placement scenario is not so special. Companies do pay a visit but the percentage of students selected is quite low. Recently, Cummins, TCS, etc. visited the campus. The average package was around 5 LPA. Generally, the students are the ones who interact with the companies so as to make them pay a visit to the college. They interact with the company people so that there can be on campus placement. About the internship, the college promotes us to take internship under various sites like Inter...

The college is govt funded so is very affordable around 10k-15k a semester, the faculty is cordial.

Placements: The placement drive was disrupted by covid but companies like Infosys, participated in recruitment. The average package would be around 3.5 to 4 LPA. Although the students have done well in government examinations with a lot of them getting M.Tech in IITS clearing state engineering services, etc.

The highest was 12LPA (Thankfully it was me: Off Campus) Average was 4.5 LPA the lowest was 3 LPA Companies were Wipro, TCS, TechAspect etc. Most of them mass recruiting. Most of them got internships in PSUs, others preferred courses. Software Developer.
