Really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: 100% campus placement is guaranteed for information technology.
Infrastructure: Hostel facility is available for both girls and boys. There are three hostels namely shaheed veernarayan, bilasa and panchseel. Scholarship is given to students who are enrolled in the hostel. Hostel is available category wise. Preference is given to brilliant students from SC, ST, OBC category.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and always provide career guidance. Course curriculum is relevant for the industry. It makes us industry ready. Semester exams are a little bit difficult and questions sometimes come from outside syllabus but solving previous year paper can help us the most.
Other: I had chosen IT branch because of growing demand in the market.

It is an excellent college.
Placements: In our college, almost 80% of students are placed. The lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA and the highest salary package offered is 15 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Wipro, Infosys, etc., visit our campus. Almost 70% of students get internships.
Infrastructure: In our college, facilities and infrastructure are not good. Many systems are lacking in the CSE branch. Sports facilities are not good.
Faculty: Our teachers are good, helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students ready for industry.

Reality about Government Engineering College Bilaspur.
Placements: The percentage of placement is too low as compared to any private colleges and even TA is not given properly. The basic package of 3.5 LPA is provided, and 18 lakhs is the maximum package. I will not recommend it. If you have money, go to private colleges because they are good.
Infrastructure: Facilities are not supportive, and infrastructure is the worst. Water falls from the ceiling in the rainy season. Even some rooms of hostels are not used because there is rain in the room and they are not available to live in. The hostel capacity is too low, and the mess food is decent.
Faculty: Checking is the worst. Even if you write the answers, they will fail you based on their interest. They don’t check your content; they will check how many pages you have written. Because of that, the checking is the worst. I haven’t seen this kind of checking ever in my life in college.
Other: I chose this course because I want money, and I thought that this course will definitely give a good future.

The college has a poor infrastructure.
Placements: I am still in my 2nd year but the college placements are not that good as it should be. Even the college needs to take quick decision for improving college placements. Though there were some seniors who were selected in Coal India and Infosys through open placement .
Infrastructure: Our college is really old ,so the infrastructure is really poor. Hostel condition is also really bad. The classrooms are not cleaned properly. The mess is quite decent and even the college canteen is good. We have sports tournament and various other sports activities.
Faculty: Faculty is really good and understanding, they explain the concepts really well. Exams are not that difficult. You can score good marks even after studying a night before the exam. Lab practical are quite interesting and gives better concept clarity .

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2022

Very healthy and ragging free environment .
Placements: Around 10-15% students are placed. The highest package in this session is 6.2lpa and
the lowest package in this session is 3.7 LPA.
The average is around 5-6 LPA.
Top recruiting companies are Infosys, L&T, Gainwell, etc.
10 students are selected in Gainwell and Infosys.
Infrastructure: There are separate hostel for boys and girls with a healthy friendly environment. College is embedded with highly experienced faculty members, and professors. Our college has a library reading room, separate labs for different departments. Hostel facility is available with mess.
Faculty: Our college is best known for quality teaching. The teachers are very experienced, qualified, and intellectual. The curriculum emphasizes personality development, technology readiness, and command of the contemporary environment.
Other: I was interested in electrical entities. In electrical field there is lot of undiscoverable things which we didn't know in outer world. The mechanism of the power flow energy generation production is quite interesting and this has complex practical knowledge in nature. I think certain changes should be done, like in the laboratory, proper presentation about the experiments should be done. Our college host Kaushalam (annual technical fest ) every year, which also include sports events.

Honest review of GEC Bilaspur .
Placements: I am a passout of the 2023 CSE batch and the situation was bad last year due to recession so none of the students were placed on campus. No companies visited our college and only a few were able to grab job offers via off-campus opportunities. The TNP cell of our college is trying their best to bring companies into our college but the placement scenario is regrading in our college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very old and requires maintenance. Wi-Fi is available but it is slow. I am a student of the CSE batch and I can tell you that lab resources in our college are lacking and hence we miss out on practical exposure. The canteen is available near our college but the food provided is either expired or spoiled. There is also a dispensary available near our college. Hostels are provided for girls as well as boys. The cost of a hostel is very affordable.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and have knowledge in their field of teaching. The course curriculum was recently changed to make it industry-relevant. The semester exams are very easy to crack. Even if a student studies 4-5 days prior to the exam date, they are still able to secure good marks.
Other: Kaushalam is the techno-cultural fest that is organized annually. It lasts 2–3 days and is very fun. Every teacher and student contribute to making it a successful event. Apart from that, there are also events organized by various clubs of our college on a frequent basis.
