{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Programs at Government Engineering College, Bilaspur

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the placement cell's effectiveness:

* Limited Job Opportunities: Around 20% of students get placed annually, with the highest salary package being around INR3.75 LPA and the lowest being around INR1.5 LPA. Most students opt for further education or preparation for competitive exams instead of taking up jobs immediately after graduation.
* No Industry Collaborations: Companies rarely visit the college for recruitment purposes, requiring students to attend open-campus placements or rely on self-efforts to secure jobs.
* Internship Training Provided: Although limited, the college offers internship opportunities through organizations like CTTC and NTPC, allowing students to gain hands-on experience.
* Placement Cell Effort: While the college tries to organize campus drives and coach students for GATE and ESE examinations, the overall placement process seems to be inadequate due to a lack of industry connections and resources.

In summary, the placement cell at Government Engineering College, Bilaspur appears to face challenges in securing job placements for its students, despite efforts made to provide internship opportunities and coach students for competitive exams.

The college has a poor infrastructure.
Placements: I am still in my 2nd year but the college placements are not that good as it should be. Even the college needs to take quick decision for improving college placements. Though there were some seniors who were selected in Coal India and Infosys through open placement .
Infrastructure: Our college is really old ,so the infrastructure is really poor. Hostel condition is also really bad. The classrooms are not cleaned properly. The mess is quite decent and even the college canteen is good. We have sports tournament and various other sports activities.
Faculty: Faculty is really good and understanding, they explain the concepts really well. Exams are not that difficult. You can score good marks even after studying a night before the exam. Lab practical are quite interesting and gives better concept clarity .
