Blessed to be the student of this college, we enjoy every single day in our college.
Placements: I'm a prefinal MBBS student of Government Medical College Anantnag, we are the first batch in our college. After the fourth year, we will join an internship in our hospital. After that, we will either work as medical officers or prepare for the post-graduate exams and then we will complete PG. After that, we will prepare for PSC and after that, we will work in any hospital or prepare for further exams. Students, who don't want to prepare for any exam, can also work as junior residents in any hospital and for all these jobs there is a handsome salary provided by every hospital.
Infrastructure: As far as facilities are concerned, our college is new. Starting in 2019, facilities regarding courses are good. We get more interaction with our faculty during our posting in the associated hospital as we are the first batch. But, we face difficulties as there is no senior batch in our college who can guide us regarding studies. The laboratories and lecture halls are good. It has well-furnished and provided all the modern facilities. The library is good and running for 24 hours. As far as hostel facilities are concerned, there is a separate room for every single student with power and water supply 24 hours, but the quality of food isn't good in the mess. There is no canteen in our college as of yet. Sports week is there in our college every year with many games being played.
Faculty: Teaching is good in our college. At other medical colleges, more interaction happens with the teaching faculty, but our teachers help us with our curriculum. As far as the discussion about the MBBS profession. There is job security in this profession but the student has to excel here. Otherwise, he won't do justice to the doctor's profession and to patients, there is a lot of stress in this profession which needs to be handled by a medical student.
Other: We are 100 students in our batch, 50 boys and 50 girls, I choose this profession because I had a passion for becoming a doctor since my middle class, I got first selected for BDS which I left after getting selected for MBBS. There is job security with MBBS. There is an opportunity in the medical profession to help those who suffer in health. I feel after completing MBBS in our internship, we should be given a handsome salary. At present, in our internship, we are just getting INR 12,000 rupees which should be increased. We celebrate many events in our college related to our profession and to student life. The campus is located at a calm and crowd-free place, Dialgam, Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir.
