The best Polytechnic college in Kerala.
Placements: The college has a good and active placement call, which will ensure the placement for the students who are seeking jobs. About 60 percentage of students got placement, from that half of the students choose to accept the offer. The highest package from mechanical department was 35000 starting, that was in gulf country. The highest package in india was 27000 monthly. And the lowest is 11000 starting monthly. Average salary is 16000. 27k placement was in the MRF company. Other top companies also recruited from the college, like wipro, Infosys, Suzuki, etc. All students need to do compulsory internship as the part of the course, most of the mechanical students got internship from a plastic manufacturing company CIPET Palakkad, others also completed their internship from other small companies, all internships were paid. Top roles from the course that were got placed as mechanical engineer, mechanical design engineer, AC mechanical, quality checking engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: The college buildings were built by the British, and some modifications done recently. Labs are neat and fully functional, classrooms are good with wooden benches, blackboard, projector, no AC, also got some mosquito issues, but got fans. College got girls hostel but no hostel for the boys should get a paying guest facility. College have a library, that contains a big collection of books. Wi-Fi was not good when I studied, but I think it will be upgraded. College have a canteen that is neat and good and food is available there for a low price. Medical facilities are good in college, also the college is in city, hospital are near. The college support sports and games very well only if you got good talent.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and supportive. They got a good knowledge In that field. Teaching quality were excellent for some faculty members and not bad for others. When talking about course caurriculam, it will give you good knowledge in mechanical field, but when you get a job mostly there is no use of that studies, is a fact. Semester exams are easy in first year and last year. Second year exam were a little difficult. Practical exam were easy to pass. Theoretical exam were easy to get supply. 90 was the pass percentage of our batch.
Other: College life is good but not great. It is government college, so when comparing to the private college it is 5 rating in value for money. Will conduct good events and teach festivals for sure. 19 acre campus is big and wide mostly forest, but got a vintage vibe. Politics has a good role in the college.
