Absolutely dissatisfied due to placements, but good faculty and infrastructure

Placements: Last time I heard that GNIT offered a good placement was way back in 2008, and this motivated me to get admission into the college in 2009. For my batch, only 35-40 (among 400-420) students were placed into MNCs, rest all were either left with low salary clerical jobs or worse without any jobs. The highest package offered was around 3.5-4 LPA, where the lowest was as low as INR 5000 per month (which is unexpected from an engineering college). The big companies like TCS, ITC Infotech, L&T, Data 6...

The best among the engineering colleges in Kolkata.

Placements: The placement in our college is good enough. In the previous year, maximum number of students were placed, as per the information, more than 60% students were placed in the companies like TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, etc. The starting salary is good enough as they promised more than 4 lakhs per annum. Though our college is a famous college in Kolkata under JIS group institution, it plays most significant role for development of our future.

Really very good infrastructure but the faculty members are not decent.

Placements: GNI is a hub for placements. More than 250 companies visits GNI every year and recruit more than 100 students. Some of the top leading companies which visit GNI for recruiting are Microsoft, TCS, Google, Tech Mahindra, Dell, Infotech, Oracle, Wipro, IBM, etc.

GNIT is one of the best colleges of JIS Group because of its placements, faculty & infrastructure.

Placements: For this year, 30%-40% students are placed in renowned companies like Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, etc. The pay scale is nearly about 3.2 LPA. For core streams like Electrical Engineering, roles offered in the company is junior engineer. For IT streams like Electronics & Communication engineering and Computer Science engineering, the vacancies are for the post of software developers. Internship are offered to 10%-20% students in companies like Infosys and Think & Learn. Our college generally offers...

Location: The place is in Sodepur Panihati, which is not far from Dum Dum and is easily accessible via Metro rail. From Station, it's just a rickshaw for 10 mins, and you are there. Campus Infrastructure: The place is huge with playing grounds and other amenities. Faculty and Course: GNIT has a strong members of faculty members for different applied technologies. Dentistry and food technology is an added star to the college. I passed in MCA (Master of Computer Applications) from there and we w...

As per education, it was good but placement was very poor. On our stream 4 guys were placed in campusing. I am wasting my money there. I want to study core engineering either mechanical or electrical. But I can't get opportunity to study mechanical on this college.

The placements are not good here in this college, especially for the core stream but for IT and CSE it is good. Infrastructure is good and even the faculty base is not up to the mark. College environment is average. Extra-curricular activities are nurtured in a good way.

It is a good college in terms of learning and expanding your knowledge of technology. The campus environment is really nice, one can spend time here for studies, sports and extra-curricular activities. So, students here grow in terms of knowledge and personality development. I would recommend this college to others.

Placement was not up to the mark. The compensation offered by the companies were lower than industry standards. There were severe lack of industry exposure. During our time only 40% of the students were placed. The average package offered was 2.5 lakhs per annum. Some of the faculties were good. But rest of the faculties were below par, they did not had much experience of teaching. Campus was very big. Sports facilities were good, and the college has its own football and cricket team.

It is one of the most reputed colleges of all JIS. The faculty members of our college are not up to the mark but they help us in need. From the past 1 year in the field of placement, the various honorable companies are coming in search of students. The infrastructure of our college is good as it has a big playground for the students. In case of cultural activities, our college gives Fresher’s party for the newcomers and also the Grand Fest among all the JIS colleges. The fest continues for 2 day...

Ragging is banned in everywhere in GNIT. The building is wonderful. The teaching quality of the teachers is spectacular. In GNIT, students are mainly pressurized for studies. Also, many companies come for campusing in college. For hostel students, the food quality of the canteen is very poor. But in a one liner, GNIT is fantastic engineering college for studying.

Awesome campus with lots of facilities and a vast infrastructure. The other thing about the college is that it has an inbuilt hostel for both boys and girls. Even there's a big canteen which provides lots of stuff for your hungriness. Rest about the playground, the grounds are very big with lots of sports equipment installed. There's a big gym for both boys and girls in the hostel premises which has good quality machines giving you bugs of energy.

Pros: A very good environment for the engineers. Good facilities. Travelling is easy as it is located in the place where buses are very frequent. Cons: Maintenance of labs was not quite good. Lack of cultural fests. Overall it’s an above average college for engineering.

It offers graduation and post-graduation in various streams. Faculty is very much active and dedicated towards their profession. Teacher’s way of teaching and making them better in innovative technologies is their main motive. The Dean of our college has some external urge to put the college at the topmost and always puts efforts towards the same.
