Life in Gurucharan College.
Placements: Gurucharan College is one of the reputed colleges in our locality. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Economics. Every year around 2000 students get admission to the college. But unfortunately, in our college, packages are not available. But if someone gets good marks, they can get good jobs in the future.
Infrastructure: Gurucharan College is good for its infrastructure. It has a very big playground and many big halls. The campus is very beautiful, and CCTV cameras are installed everywhere for security. It has a big library with many different types of books that students can take home using library cards. Classrooms are very neat and clean, and whiteboards and smartboards are attached to the walls. Hostel facilities are also good for both boys and girls, and the quality of food in the mess and canteen is also good.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good, and they try their best to provide every information and knowledge they have to us. My course, B.Sc. in Economics, is related to the study of the Indian economy and other factors. It helps students understand the country’s economy. The difficulty level is good in exams. Around 90% of students pass their exams.
Other: I have chosen this course because I have an interest in economics. I want to give competitive exams like RBI Grade B and other similar exams, so I decided to study this course. Our college is famous for its fests and programs. Every year, it celebrates Sarada Utsav and Freshers' Party in a very big way. Many students participate and show their talent. The campus is very beautiful and surrounded by nature. Extracurricular activities, like running a group to help the poor and disabled people, are also organized.

Gurucharan College, Silchar Review.
Placements: I was in the batch 2021-24, and the number of students in my batch was around 50. The department was good, with the best faculty members in town. Though there are no direct recruitments or anything, the teachers provide the best they can to help the students get a job. My course was Zoology, and it has a wide scope in the Biology and Life Sciences field.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is a little old, but constant improvements are going on. New classes and labs are being built, which I hope will help the new students. There is Wi-Fi, but the password is not known. The library and laboratory facilities are good, though improvements can be made. The canteen is good, with food facilities at an affordable price.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified, really good, and experienced. They provide good help and quality education. The new teachers are also good and helpful. Overall, the teaching quality is good. The courses are relevant, though some improvements can be made. The semester exams are moderate, with a decent passing percentage.
Other: I chose this college because it was the best in the district with the course I needed. It would be better if the infrastructure were developed a little more and more placement courses were added, which would provide value to the students. As for the fests, they are okay and good with extracurricular activities like sports. Inter-college tournaments are held sometimes, giving students a good chance to show their talent.

A basic course for graduation .
Placements: There were no such placements offered by the college
as I said earlier no such placements means no packages
companies were aslo not there to hire
students used to get internships from a very few companies
I can? T say much about the internship or other things but our parents university the Assam university used to offer few internships and packages .
Infrastructure: The faculty were very good no doubt equipped with various labs projectors computer labs library and all the basic stuff which are required
the quality of faculty was good for hostels bit I cant say much about it because I didnt opt for it other than that canteen was there with quite average type of service available sports was top notch medical facilities were also good.
Faculty: The teachers were very much helpful they were qualified and most of them were knowledgeable rather than providing bookish knowledge
the cousin was in my point of view a very basic one which more or less does? T makes a student industry ready
exams were very easy if you study properly and go though the notes .
Other: I was undertaking my course under a government scheme due to which I have to pay less for every semester

Does the job, college better than any other private institute in my town.
Placements: Placements are basically of no use, I guess, in my personal opinion because it's just a graduation degree where, in today's world, it is literally of no use. No companies were there to hire. But under Assam University, Silchar, Assam, Gurucharan College is affiliated and hence it provided few opportunities to a very limited number of students as interns in Tata Industry, Bangalore.
Infrastructure: Our faculty was pretty good as it consisted of Wi-Fi, computer labs, projectors, a library as usual, and also a gymnasium. The quality was average as it was not that of a top class. We can't expect much from a government institute as it was a regular one except for the IITs. Highlights include a canteen that offers quite good quality food, basic first aids that were available, along with sports and games that were also organized timely in our institute.
Faculty: Teachers were quite helpful and qualified enough too. They were helpful, and the teaching quality, I would say, was average as everyone used to go for tuitions after class. The course is not a special one, and it barely makes a student industry-ready. It just gives a basic concept about trade, commerce, accounting, and economics as a whole and on a micro level.
Other: It was totally my personal call to opt for my course. There is nothing much to say about a B.Com degree. For me, it just gives a basic concept about trade, commerce, accounting, and economics. More variety of subjects should be added to the course.

Journey of Gurucharan College
Placements: I am studying in 2nd semester of B.Com degree course, but I have knowledge about the placement provided by our college. Last year, Tata Consultancy and Services (TCS) company provided placement to more than 10 students who passed B.Com from Gurucharan College. The highest package provided by TCS last year was 40,000, and the lowest package was 19,000. In our college, there is no internship program, which is quite bad.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure facility in our college is quite good. All the technical tools required to pursue the courses and teaching are available in our college. The Wi-Fi and labs are available in our college. The classrooms and the library are well decorated. The library situated in our college is a central library, and all types of books are available there.
Faculty: The faculty in Gurucharan College is very good. All the faculty members have very friendly behavior with their students, and they provide very good marks to the students in every exam. All the faculty members are NET qualified, and almost 10 to 15 teachers have a Ph.D. degree. They are very highly qualified.

If you're willing to stay in Silchar, you should definitely go for GC College.
Placements: Gurucharan College doesn't offer placements for students most of the times. If they do, it's not that much, and it's in some local company or something. So, for a job, you have to learn skills along with your graduation and apply for jobs and find it yourself because you won't get much help, or I would say no help, from the college.
Infrastructure: The classrooms of the Commerce department aren't that good. Talking about Wi-Fi, there isn't any Wi-Fi for students, and don't think about good food because you won't get any in the canteen. The canteen only offers packaged foods, i.e., chips, juice, soft drinks, etc.
Faculty: The teachers of the Commerce department are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They will help you, but talking about the course curriculum, I don't think it will make you industry-ready. You have to learn skills all by yourself and have to make yourself industry-ready. About exams, you'll have to sit in two exams: first is internal exams (1st UT)/mid-sems, and the end semester exams.
Other: My reason for getting into this college is because it's the best in the town, though it has some issues, and I hope the college authority will resolve them.
