M.Sc. in Mathematics - Batch of 2023

5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Overall best University for M.Sc. in Mathematics Course.
Placements: My class is 55%-65% of students. The offer after graduation is not huge, but the average salary is 12-15 LPA. Some of the biggest hiring companies are Google, Amazon, Facebook, and more. Although 48% of students have participated in internships, they do not take advantage of this opportunity and prefer to pursue PhDs and higher studies in order to have a better chance in their careers. Simple tasks include writing, Statistics, and more.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are air-conditioned and have Wi-Fi. Our school has a wonderful, well-maintained library. Year 2 students are assigned individual rooms in dormitories. Their hotel is co-ed and has free Wi-Fi. The servings are small, but you can choose to eat them throughout the meal. Almost every sport is on our campus.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified. I mean, to apply for a teaching job, one must have a Bachelor’s degree. I think it will be enough to know the level of the teachers. Most of the teachers in Assam schools are trained in private schools and such schools. The exam is tough, and the pass rate is 60%.

Faculty and hostel are good.
Placements: Placement is not good; internships are only conducted by Nielit. Not good so not all will get placed. The only student who is placed is on their own, not in college. The faculty is good. The environment is good for studying. All the facilities were good until it came to mess food.
Infrastructure: The library is a digital library and it is good for studying. All the books in the library are for students. The labs are good. Classrooms are good and larger. Sports areas are good, like football, tennis and volleyball. Everything is good but not the canteen, like the weekend is off.
Faculty: semester exam is good all the subject questions are as asked per class. All the questions comes from the class topic, which is studying in class. If anyone studies class notes, then he/she is able to do so. Wi-Fi is not available in classes. Only Wi-Fi is available in hostel.
Other: Event is good .

Overall, it is the best college for M.Sc.
Placements: Our average placement rate for all placements in our course is 75%. With an average of 10 LPA, the lowest package provided is 5 LPA, while the highest is 20 LPA. Additionally, students intern with institutions such as environmental agencies, research centers, and non-government groups. Jobs from the Biotech department, the state government, etc., are offered to students. Students are offered top employment such as biotechnologists, professors, etc.
Infrastructure: Nearly every facility for students was provided. Labs, hygienic classrooms, a library, Wi-Fi, laptops, and other teaching-related equipment were among the amenities offered by the college. The hostel was of good quality. The cost of the food at the canteen was a little higher than normal. The medical facilities were good. Our college’s sports facilities were excellent. At least once a week, we played kabaddi, basketball, hockey, cricket, and football.
Faculty: The best instructors were those at our college. They were helpful, knowledgeable, capable, and intelligent. They are skilled educators who know how to care for each pupil as an individual. We struggled at first with the course content, but eventually, our esteemed lecturers provided us with a conducive learning environment. The pass rate is 85%, and passing the tests is quite simple.

B.A. LL.B. at Assam University, Silchar.
Placements: In my B.A. LL.B. batch, about 3-4 students are placed each year, with placement packages ranging from 3-4 Lacs. The highest and the lowest salary packages vary, but the average package falls within this range. Top recruiting companies for our course include law firms, corporations, and legal agencies. The top roles offered are legal associate, legal advisory, and positions in corporate and government legal departments. The placement cell, which started in 2022, continues to improve industry connections to enhance job opportunities.
Infrastructure: The B.A. LL.B. department at Assam University has Wi-Fi, well-equipped classrooms, and a library with essential legal resources. The hostel offers basic facilities with rooms furnished with beds, tables, and chairs. Food quality in the mess is adequate but can be repetitive, while the canteen provides additional options. Medical facilities include basic health services, and sports facilities are available for recreational activities. The campus also has a peaceful environment conducive to focused study.
Faculty: The teachers at Assam University are qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful, with Dr. Amitabh Singh being a notable example. The teaching quality is engaging, balancing theory with practical exposure. The B.A. LL.B. curriculum is relevant, aligned with Bar Council standards, and industry-ready, incorporating core subjects, electives, and internships. Semester exams are moderately challenging, combining internal and end-semester tests. The pass percentage is around 40-50%, with students well-prepared for legal careers.
Other: I chose the B.A. LL.B. course at Assam University for its strong academic foundation, practical exposure, and vibrant campus life. The best aspects include a balanced curriculum, internships, and engaging faculty. I wish the course included more modern topics like AI in law and skill-based courses. The campus hosts various events like Law Fest, Teach Fest, and cultural fests, offering a lively crowd. The university has good connectivity and is surrounded by tea gardens, providing a peaceful environment. Scholarships are available for deserving students.

Review of B.Tech at Assam University, Silchar.
Placements: Placement opportunities are very poor at Assam University, Silchar. The T&P is also not very active. Companies rarely visit our campus for recruitment purposes. Most students get placed off campus. The same condition is with the internship also; however, CSE and AE provide internships.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good. The classrooms are spacious and can accommodate a total of 50–60 students. The labs are not so well equipped with the latest equipment. Sometimes basic equipment is also not working. Hostels are good but the food quality is very poor.
Faculty: The faculty members are well qualified with Ph.D. degrees. But the teaching quality is average and they are also not very helpful. The course curriculum is as per AICTE norms but in the case of elective subjects, only one subject has to be chosen by all due to a shortage of faculty members.
Other: The authority is very much lazy and every task gets delayed here. The campus life is also average, with very few fests happening on campus.
