IFMR Kothari's library is one of the best in India. The sheer number of journals and magazines will help you gain in depth knowledge. Books on business strategy is also worth looking at. The infrastructure is good. The books and journals in the library are exceptional. The conference hall and lecture hall are spacious and comfortable. The acoustics in the halls are very good. We have 24 hours Wi-Fi facilities. Earlier we are in small campus and had little space constraint for outdoor sports. Now the campus has moved to Sri City. That problem is sorted out. Teaching is excellent. However now I see many good faculty are planning to leave which may reduce the quality of teaching. Many faculty members are too good. I would insist on bringing more pressure on students by asking for more presentations, more practice etc. Encouraging more on extracurricular activities and symposium are required. Academic infrastructure is good and is latest. Library is stocked with plenty of books on wide variety of topics, specially on finance. Old campus was small and had limited recreational facilities but since new campus has come up, so that should be fine now. Infrastructure is good at Sree City and I found it to be satisfactory. However I would suggest that the teaching facility should improve. Please don’t copy any ones pattern of teaching. The infrastructure facilities are good. We have an excellent library and good lecture halls. IFMR has excellent faculty who have excellent subject as well as real world knowledge who are very much updated about the industry standards. The faculty are extremely well qualified and are very approachable. The placements are good. We have had top companies like Crisil, Cognizant, Infosys, UBS, JP Morgan etc visiting the campus. I passed out of the Nungambakkam campus. The campus there revolved around the central banyan tree. We had a very resourceful library. The trading floor was also equipped with Bloomberg terminals and other live trading softwares. The campus although was small but had an ecosystem of its own. Transportation - we did not have any in old campus. Not sure about the current state but at my time more conference halls and sports/recreational facilities were expected. A separate log for sports equipments can be maintained along with the stock. Wi-fi is always good at IFMR and so is the food. Institute for Financial Management and Research in short IFMR is one of the top 30 B-Schools in India. And among the top 10 in south India. IFMR was previously based in Chennai, but they have now moved to a sparking new 40 acre campus in Chittor District of AP. What makes IFMR best is their faculty most of them are industry veterans with decades of experience. Placements: The college provides decent placements. The average salary package offered was 10.5 LPA. Major recruiting companies are Deloitte, HSBC, EY, Accenture, JPMC, Crisil. Internships offered to students are also very decent. Internships period is from April to May. Both summers and final placement are conducted from September to February.
