I feel that my college is a great place to immerse yourself in the sea of knowledge.

Placements: The placement scenario is quite good out here. After 4 months of placement, 12 students out of 70 from mechanical engineering, 16 out of 70 in electrical engineering, 6 out of 34 in metallurgy and materials science have got a core placement this year till November. The companies such as Maruti, Vikram Solar, Haldia Petrochemical, CESC, Vedanta, L&T, Shapoorji and Palonji, Electrosteel, Saint Gobain, Hindustan Unilever came for placement. Now coming to non-core, you got Price Waterhouse Cooper re...

I would rate 5 for the mining engineering department.

Placements: The placement usually gets, but since Coal India put stay on the On-Campus placement, so they have stopped. The companies like Vedanta Resources, L&T Mining, Coal India, Hindustan Zinc, Hindustan Copper Ltd. are the recruiters. We got summer training from the college itself and got chances in the companies like Coal India, SCCL, NLC, NMDC, NALCO, Hindustan Zinc, Copper and much more. The average package is 9 LPA.

It is the 2nd oldest engineering college of India. It is actually a research based college.

Placements: The placements of the college are not good. But, it will be improved in the next two to three years. Due to the lack of independent body for placement cell, placement is not up to the mark. The placement scenario is regularly changing, and it will be improved. The highest package offered was 46 LPA. The average package offered was 6 LPA.

Good campus and faculty. Placements are on own capability and have poor mess quality.

Placements: As per batch of 2017, placement was okay. Almost 80% of the students were placed, and among that 50% of them are in mass companies like TCS, IBM, Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture. Rest 30% got an average package of 4.8 LPA who placed in core companies, IT and analytics sector. The placement records are good for computer science, IT, EE and ME. At least, many related companies visit from these streams. The highest salary was around 15 LPA from DirectI MediaNet in computer science. Mostly, the roles ...

Placements: Not up to the mark. Few core companies arrived. Merely 50% of the total students in civil engineering department got placed, out of them, 60% were in core and 40% were in non-core i.e. analytical and IT companies. The average salary- 4-4.5 LPA (for core companies).

Placements: Core companies are very less. In my batch L&T, Tata Steel, M N Dastur, Electosteel, such companies visited. Many core companies visited and 30% got placed in core. From the rest, some got placed in analytics and some in mass. Overall, a good placement record in the civil engineering department.

Placements: The placements of IIEST, Shibpur is quite decent. Last year, more than 75% students got placed. The average package is about 5 LPA. Last year, the highest package was 46 LPA. Here, core companies recruited a quite decent number of students with a high package. Major IT companies have recruited a number students with a decent package. Many students got internship PPO offered by companies.

IIEST Shibpur review by a student of IT 2018 batch

Placements: The placement condition in the college is just an okay type, not very good like IITs and top NITs. It is improving year by year since it has been upgraded to IIEST. Companies like IBM, TCS, Wipro, CGI, Veritas, Microsoft, Samsung, PWC, ZS, CTS and Reve System visit here for the IT sector. Less number of core companies visit here. The placement percentage for core is about 70 and for IT branches, it is about 80.
