Review on IIEST Shibpur in my view overall.

Placements: 60-70% were placed. The highest package in our college is 51 Lacs per annum. The lowest is 4 Lacs per annum. The median package offered in our college is 7 Lacs per annum. 60% of students got internships in my course at companies like Caterpillar, ISRO. Many students from this department move towards higher studies.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of lack of discipline, security, internet facilities and hostels.

Placements: Placements are average and the total credit goes to the students because after such a bad hostel condition and poor Wi-Fi and internet facility, the students are succeeding. Most of the students try off campus placements which is good but if the administration functions properly the placements can rise many folds.

Reviews of IIEST Shibpur - Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology.

Placements: Some tech companies come to our college to hire students. There are an ample number of companies, including top companies like Flipkart, Amazon, Wells Fargo, IBM, etc. There are not many companies for the core branches of engineering. Tech companies pay way better than core companies. Overall, placements are good, but the salary package depends on the branch of the individual.

I am absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty members, but good placements were offered in 2020.

Placements: Placements are average in our college, but as it is a national institute, we have expected more. I am not satisfied with our college.

It's not the dream college. We don't have that kind of infrastructure. Placements decreasing.

Placements: Around 43% in 2020 were placed, but it was better 97% in 2019. The number of companies are decreasing day by day. The highest package was 9.3 lacs per year and the lowest was 3 lacs per year last year. Tata steel gave the highest package. It also offers ppo. Average was 5 lacs per year. Tata Steel, Vedanta are the top recruiting companies and their salary package is also high. In Operation, mine planning are the top roles. The highest is 9.3 lacs per year the lowest 3 lacs per year. 10% stude...

The teaching quality is pathetic. Our college doesn't encourage placements. The mess is the worst.

Placements: About 70% of the students from our course got placed, but only about 10% of the students got decent salary packages. The highest salary package was provided by Maruti Suzuki, and it was about 8 LPA. The lowest salary package of about 4 LPA was provided by Shapoorji Pallonji, excluding the mass recruiters which provided about 3 LPA. The average salary package offered was about 4.5 LPA. Top recruiters like Maruti Suzuki, L&T and Saint Gobain provided internships to one student of our course, while...

I am dissatisfied with our college due to poor infrastructure.

Placements: From 2020 batch, from the mechanical branch, out of 82 students, around 45 students got placed in campus recruitment. Companies which recruited students from our college are TATA Steel, TATA Power, Maruti Suzuki, CESC, Vikram Solar, PwC, Bridge and Roof (PSU), Daikin India, Elegant Marine and some mass recruiting companies like TCS, Cognizant, etc. The highest salary package offered was 11 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 4 LPA. Very few students got internships. A few companies li...

It is a perfect institute of engineering for good learning and placements.

Placements: Almost 92% of the students from our course got placed. The average salary offered to the students ranges between Rs. 20,000-30,000 per month. Top roles, like an architect, civil engineer, drafter, etc., are offered in our course. Some top recruiting companies like Tata and Hindustan Construction Company visited our college for our course placements. About 78% of the students form our course got an internship in Hindustan Construction Company.

IIEST is the oldest institute and best where students can learn many things other than engineering.

Placements: Almost 90% of the students got placed in the previous year. In the previous year, the highest salary package offered was 14.5 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered was 6 LPA in the mining department. The average salary package offered in this institute was 6 LPA-7 LPA. Top companies such as Coal India, Tata Steel, Vedanta, etc., recruit students from our college.

The honest review of IIEST from the alumni.

Placements: The placements are moderate on the campus. Service-based MNCs like TCS, CTS, IBM, Ericsson, Capgemini, Wipro, etc., are the biggest employers that visit the campus. Some good companies like HSBC, Deloitte, PwC, Cisco, Samsung, etc., intake a few students. Don't expect biggies like Google, Yahoo, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Intel, AMD, Phillips, JP Morgan, and Goldman Sachs visit the campus offering more than 10 LPA salary package. But extraordinary students grab the high salaried job from off-c...

This college has not been up to my expectations.

Placements: Our senior batch placement was 100%, but for the current batch, only 6/27 are placed till now. There is not much of hope this year. The highest package is 8 LPA. Vedanta was the only company to visit for mining engineering department. They recruited for management trainee post.
