Detailed information of institute.
Placements: Placement is definitely less when we compare it with other courses like engineering. Our senior batch strength is 30 students, and all are placed with at least one offer. Eight students cracked state or central government civil service exams and got government jobs. Before placement, we all received internship opportunities. Consulting firms such as EMSI, Brain, BCG, and McKinsey, along with many NGOs and financial firms, came for hiring. A few students pursued Ph.D. studies, but in the end, 100% of the students were placed.
Infrastructure: IITG campus can be rated as the most beautiful campus in India. They spent 1 crore for beautification, including greenery, water bodies, and mountains. The internet speed on campus is very fast; 4K videos play without any buffering. There are many clubs that actively participate in events like hackathons, music, dance, etc. The library is well-furnished and has almost all books. The downside is that some people may bully students who are emotionally weak, which can lead to others being downgraded. Each hostel room is shared by two people. The mess food is repetitive and not very tasty, and the hostel rooms have a lot of mosquitoes. The food is not spicy; I miss spicy food. Hostel rules are very strict.
Faculty: Professors in IITG are highly talented; every faculty member has completed their Ph.D. The professors can be rude and strict, requiring proper discipline. The course schedule is very hectic. In the first two semesters, the syllabus includes 3 core subjects and 2 elective subjects. In the last two semesters, it includes 2 core subjects, 2 elective subjects, and 1 project. For the first year, the credit pattern is 36+36 credits per semester, and for the last year, it is 44+44 credits per semester. Exams are difficult, with mostly conceptual questions.
Other: It is very tough to get into IIT. I am grateful that I got admission here. A lot of preparation and good marks are required. I think IIT doesn’t need any additional reason; the IIT tag itself is a source of pride.

In other words, a good experience.
Placements: The placements are promising but it all depends on how the students approach these companies and the amount of work they put in themselves. The companies that mostly come to us are from the corporate social responsibility sector and some others belong to the social services sector. Some students even express an inclination towards opting for further studies for which they can apply for the PhD programme.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. All facilities are available. Maintenance is very good. The classrooms are well furnished with projectors, etc. The canteen and mess provide good quality of food and at the same time, maintaining the hygiene standards. There were some minor issues with the hostel infrastructure but after filing a complaint, the authorities saw to the immediate resolution of these problems.
Faculty: The faculty members are good here and they are very adept at the work they do. They are friendly and very approachable for all issues concerned, not just academics related. The teaching methods they use are very helpful and represent the level of teaching that is expected of a master's programme in a deemed university, although it mostly caters to a technical background.

Good campus but the HSS department has to be improved further.
Placements: To be frank, none of our seniors from 2017 batch got better placements. Most of them are now preparing for NET exams. Some of them, however, have joined NGOs. To yield better results a lot of hard work is required. Unless some good initiatives are being taken, nothing can be hoped.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of IITG is good. The facilities being provided here are of better quality such as better conditioned classrooms, Wi-Fi, labs, a central library with good books, a hospital with proper medical facilities and free of cost medicines for IITG students, a cricket pitch and basketball and tennis grounds, a swimming pool and also separate gyms for girls and boys.
Faculty: The course is also good because one can learn from diverse disciplines. The teachers are also friendly in nature though sometimes one may find them to be biased. They are highly qualified and they mostly use interactive methods with the students. The course curriculum will be useful for those students who are mostly from the economics background.
Other: It is a matter of pride to be a part of Indian Institute of Technology. The campus is beautiful and also provides a very natural beauty with hills and lakes. One cannot find a better environment to study and also enjoy his/her life with nature simultaneously. Everyone can fall in love with the campus for sure. As the area is being extracted from the main city of Guwahati, so it is safe from the city's heavy crowd.

Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: The seniors have not been offered placements. The placement system is not up to the expectation. Quite often, the students from humanities are looked down upon. In fact, these students are no less and ideally should be offered the best of the best in all spheres. The placements need to be widened up for the humanities students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent. Beyond comparison. No campus can provide such facilities as IITG has provided to its students. The institution, in fact, has been built up in a very beautiful natural setting. Talking about the facilities, indeed, there is all-time availability of Wi-Fi in the campus, LAN connection in the hostels, smart and interactive classrooms. Dhansiri girls' hostel is new and beautiful, though the allotment of new students is done haphazardly. Otherwise, all good.
Faculty: Well, most of the faculty members are quite helpful. They always come to the needs of their students and help them to their best capacity. They are well trained, much knowledgeable, and highly qualified. Interactive classes go on with a touch of smart class like presentation, projections, and so forth. The course curriculum is challenging but it is meant to serve the best to the students. The course is also meant to help the students with new insights, perceptions and dynamism.

Satisfied with faculty, good infrastructure and facilities, beautiful campus.
Placements: Actually, I am a masters student, therefore, we couldn't receive more placement facilities on the campus because only for 25-35 students, reputed companies were not able to come. In our 2-3 senior batches, only a few students got a chance to get placed with 25000 to 30000 as the average salary. I don't know more about companies which visited our campus, but several NGOs had visited previously. For our batch placements, placement coordinators were planning to invite more than 100 companies into our campus for masters students but due to the small number of students, we have to collaborate with Guwahati TISS ( TATA INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCE) for invites jointly. The 30% of masters students got the internship from the college while others found it themselves, but I don't know about B.Tech and M.Tech students. The stipend offered was from 6000 to a maximum of 25000.
Infrastructure: Facilities available on our campus were very good and satisfactory. We have a LAN connection in each and every room in hostels. 24-hours water and electricity supply are available. Classrooms have lights and fans. There are 4 lecture hall with air-conditioners. Free medical facilities are there on the campus. External and internal bus services were there. The quality of labs is good with comfortable sitting arrangements and AC. The canteen food quality is good and open for a minimum of 15 hours in one day.
Faculty: Our department faculty members were very happy to help us and were up to date with current stories, qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them had done their PhD and now, they were engaging in writing blogs, articles, reports, research projects, etc. The teaching methods were good. They teach practically and rationally. We have to submit research projects, presentations and field surveys. Now onwards, our supervisors were giving us advice, study material, and they guide us for our dissertation which will have to submit in the last semester. We also have one faculty advisor for 4 students, we also can share a personal problem and course adjustment problems to them. The course curriculum provided was useful not only for the present but also for the future. We did not get any industry exposure.

First thing first it's everyone dream to study in IIT as it holds the greater importance.
Placements: 90% student gets placement in this subject. Everyone is specialised in overall curriculum activities. More than 20 lacs is the highest package offered, 10 lacs is the average, the lowest is around 3 lacs. Tata trust, SBI sidbi pnb are some of the top companies that offer placement.
Infrastructure: This institute has several lab like for example phonetics and phonology lab, virtual anthropology lab, psychology lab language lab. 24/7 wi-fi facility. Well to do library with ample amount of books in case you need books in emergency. 24/7 canteen facility for any time hungy stomach. High level hospital facility with specialised doctors. 24x7 emergency service.
Faculty: 1. Teachers are very helpful, they are always eager to help students. As they are teaching in IIT, they are highly qualified and knowledgeable. 2. Course does make the students industry ready for every sector.
