M.Sc. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2021

Our college is a good college.
Placements: Our college provided placements that were not related to a master's degree. The majority of companies were call centers or some customer service types. It was rare or not possible to see wet lab companies in placements. Students had to pay Rs.4,000 for placements which was a waste.
Infrastructure: The hostel was good, clean, and calm. The food served was average. The lab facility was not good because the animal tissue culture lab was under construction.
Faculty: Exam evaluation was partial because students from Bengal scored high. There were 2 female lecturers, one from Madhya Pradesh and the other from Bengal. Our course was good to score marks but not helpful to get in-depth knowledge and experimental knowledge.
Other: I couldn't do my dissertation project inside our college because of high partiality. I did it outside in a private lab paying an extra amount of Rs.40,000. I got a CGPA of 8 out of 10. I found some lecturers helped students in the exam hall and some students without studying also scored great marks.

It is an amazing college with an amazing experience and great placements.
Placements: Almost 80% of students get placed in some good MNC companies all over India. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2.75 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges from 3.75-4 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Cipla, Abbott, Episource, Indigene, Syngene, etc., visit the college for placements. About 50% of students got an internship in Biocon, Biozeen, and Lupin. Top roles like quality control, R&D, and management are offered here.
Infrastructure: Labs are also amazing, and the library facilities are also insane, with a wide variety of options in books. The hostel facility is top-notch the food quality is good, not the best. Facilities like Wi-Fi, games room, canteen, and medical facilities are amazing.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They all are skilled and educated from top universities and foreign. They are PhD holders. They are really approachable and friendly. Teachers are helpful, qualified, and approachable for any kind of doubts. The teaching quality and level of understanding are grade A. The course is both curriculum and competitive exam-related. It makes students ready for industrial as well as for research-level work. Semester exams are really difficult, and the papers are really tough. It all depends on how you prepare yourself. The pass percentage is more than 90%.
Other: I have chosen this course because Biochemistry is one of the most uprising courses in the modern world. The best thing about this course is it has a lot of fieldwork and research level of work that makes it interesting and approachable. The management of the syllabus and some more internships in the course could be really helpful. Events like science exhibitions and inter-college competitions are conducted. Scholarships are also provided according to the marks of the students, and even department toppers are also given some scholarships accordingly.

The college is the best for Biochemistry, and it is a good place for research studies.
Placements: The placements were not good for our batch, but some good companies visited for our juniors. For my batch, the salary package offered was 2.3 lacs per annum. The companies like Molecular Connection, Amazon, etc., usually visit the campus, and there are off-campus placements as well.
Infrastructure: We have good labs, and all the equipment are available for biochemistry. The hostel is decent with cool interior's. The hostel rooms are tidy and well-maintained. Each room has an attached washroom. The hostels are good and safe for girls, and in and out timings are well-maintained.
Faculty: The teachers are friendly, highly qualified, and supportive. The quality of teaching is good. The teaching methods used are chalk and board, PPT, and workshop within the department. The student to faculty ratio is 5:1. Industrial trips happen during the 2nd year of course.
Other: A lot of events held at the campus for the students.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of placements, no campus, and high examination fees.
Placements: Poor placements and no strict rules for placements. You will not get any job if you join this college, especially for a master's in courses such as biotechnology or microbiology. They only invite companies that are not useful for us.
Infrastructure: The course we selected is good, but not at this college. There is no proper equipment or discipline in the lab. The examinations are the worst, and they're not worth paying fees for. They give more importance to UG students than PG students. It's the worst management.
Faculty: The faculty is better compared to all other features, but not all faculty will support us. They treat students in their own way and do not mark attendance properly, making it difficult at the end of the semester. They won't allow you to write exams if you don't have attendance.
Other: No campus; you need to stick to your classrooms only.
