Good for research and placements.
Placements: ISI Kolkata has 100 percent placement continuing. The placement in M.Start. is very good. The highest being 44 LPA, the median and mean being close to each other, which is a very good indicator: mean - 28 LPA, median - 29 LPA. Roles - data scientist, analyst, financing, banking.
Infrastructure: The hostel is an old building. Hence, it lacks a good look. There is a paid canteen and a government-supplied canteen which is very cheap. The infrastructure is good. Every hostel room has LAN ports. You get a single room for each, and a shared bathroom for 2.
Faculty: Teachers are very good. Many of them have PhDs in their field. Comparatively, teachers here are more friendly than in other colleges. The exams are very well made. If you want to ace them, you need very good discipline and a timetable. Education here is hard but...

Great college. Faculty members are well-educated and experts in their field.
Placements: Good placement. Average 28 Lacs per annum, medium 25 Lacs per annum, the lowest 18 Lacs per annum, and the highest 38 Lacs per annum. 100% placement in B.Start and M.Start branches. Nice internship opportunities for banking and finance fields. Nice in-hand salary when compared to CTC.
Infrastructure: Nice hostel, different for different streams. Mess available. Single rooms. One fan, one table, one bed. One bathroom shared by two. 30-acre campus, enough for the number of students studying. AC classrooms. Proper academic infrastructure, and the curriculum is up to date.
Faculty: Teachers are well-educated, having Ph.D.s from foreign institutions, and are real experts in the field. The curriculum is very market-friendly, useful for higher studies and placements. Students get interested and want to learn from the teachers and their way of interaction.

ISI Kolkata, The dream college for mathematical and Statistical learning.
Placements: The placements here at ISI is very good, especially for Masters students. The highest package here was approx 89 lacs per annum about a year ago. They give internships opportunities in yhe final year. Most of the students get placed in finance, statistics and banking sector.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure here is pretty good. As we have a hybrid mode of class, I.e., sometime online sometimes offline, so a good setup with internet connection is required. Hostel facilities are not available for our course so we are living outside as renters.
Faculty: The faculty here is very good. They have a vast experience of teaching in various world wide institutions and have a great way of teaching. The curriculum.is also very relevant as due to increasing tech, data science is becoming crucial. Semester exams are very difficult but you can pass.
Other: The best thing about this course is it's curriculum, relevance and the vast faculty. I chose this over CS at NIT Hamirpur as I think this is the area where I want to specialize. Gender ratio is very bad at college so it does effect the social life here. Sports are also not much prevalent here. Fest is held in January.

ISI Kolkata BSDS (Hons.) Programme.
Placements: Our batch is the first batch of BSDS course, hence there is no placement record available as of now because we will be the first graduation batch. But taking into consideration the placements of other courses, ISI has nearly 100% track record in all of them. Last year the highest package was 63 LPA and last to last year it was 89 LPA for MS QROR and MS QE courses respectively. The top companies visiting the campus are Adobe, Morgan Stanley, TCS, Cognizant, FAANG Companies, etc.
Infrastructure: For Bachelor of Statistical Data Science course, there is no hostel accommodation in any of the locations Kolkata, Bangalore, or Delhi. The classrooms are well-equipped with all the modern facilities like Wi-Fi, speakers, and projectors for the hybrid nature of the course. The quality of the mess food is quite good as expected from a hostel mess. The menu covers both North Indian and South Indian food styles.
Faculty: The faculty here are very much well-experienced in their particular field of research and they have many publications in highly reputed journals. The course is quite relevant for making students industry-ready in the field of data science. The semester exams are quite difficult in the sense that one cannot pass exams just by studying one day for the night like engineering colleges. Proper efforts need to be put in to get good grades as there is no relative grading system.
Other: I chose this course because it was a perfect blend of Maths and Computer Science. The course would have been better if it was in proper offline mode rather than being in hybrid mode. The campus life *** because there are not many events, the gender ratio is less, and in general, there is nobody to talk to casually.

Knowing the new BSDS course of ISI Kolkata
Placements: Our course is started this year only, hence no placement record is available. But considering past placement records of other courses, ISI has an impeccable number. The top recruiters were Adobe, Amazon, Apple, Google, BlackRock, Morgan Stanley, optiver etc. For roles like data scientist / analyst.
Infrastructure: The class is well equipped with all modern facilities. It has 2 air conditioners, 2 speakers , 1 desktop for the teacher, and 2 s project screen for students. Along with that, a whiteboard is also there. For the BSDS course, there is no hostel accommodation provided.
Faculty: The teachers are so well experienced and much more qualified in general. Each class is of 1 hour and 20 minutes, and each tutorial class is of 1 hour duration. The course curriculum is much relevant to modern-day industry jobs. The course is introduced for the purpose of making students industry-ready and also eligible for higher academic research. The semester exams are quite difficult in the sense that it can't be passed just by studying before the exam like in engineering colleges.
Other: The gender ratio is much worse, and the campus is not well maintained.
