Commonly asked questions
On JEE Main Cutoffs

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Honest review of Indira Gandhi Engineering College.
Placements: For placement, only some companies visit Indira Gandhi Engineering College; for more opportunities, you have to be in the top 10% in your batch. These students are sent to Rajiv Gandhi University for the placement. The average package in Indira Gandhi Engineering College is 5-6 lakh per annum.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good. But for the first year, the building infrastructure is very poor but for the rest of the three years, infrastructure is very good. The hostel is also okay; you can visit once before taking admission in the college. Mess food in the hostel is also good.
Faculty: The course that Indira Gandhi Engineering College follows is of Rajiv Gandhi University Bhopal. Every semester has 5 subjects and each subject has 1 assignment, 1 practical, and 1 project. It's common in almost all the colleges. 30 marks are for project practical and assignment and 70 marks are for theory.

Really a well-developed campus area.
Placements: Final year 1-1 semester students are eligible for placements. Tata, Infosys, and Amazon visit the college. The highest salary package offered is 6.4 LPA. The average salary package offered is 4.2 LPA. Almost 80% of students got placements. I want to settle in any industrial company related to mechanical engineering.
Infrastructure: Our college provides good facilities in classrooms for students. Sports are conducted in this college. Students will conduct clubs like Hackathons, Code Thanthra, Yesplus, etc.
Faculty: Some faculty members are friendly with students. Some are strict in student matters. I like Sunil sir because he is very friendly with students and I don't like MS subject sir because he is strict in college. Exams are easy for students who come to the college regularly.
Other: As an OBC category student, I paid Rs. 77,000 per year to college including tuition fees, admission, labs, mid-exams, and semester exam fees. My friends are of OC and BC categories but fees are equal for all categories in college. Yearly 3 fests are conducted in the college like Sankranthi Sambaralu, Vinayaka Chavithi, and annual day.

Good placement and good for all B.Tech. students.
Placements: Fifteen percent of students are placed in our course. Fifteen lacs is the highest package, eight lacs is the average, and four lacs is the lowest. Eighty percent of students got internships. Companies that offer the students are M.C., PPS, AAT, and others; it is good for placements and for a good package.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is very well functioning. The labs are clean, and all chemicals and instruments have been provided. Teachers are very polite and clear up all our doubts. The library is open to campus students. Hostels are clean and they are for both boys and girls. College is good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and always there for students. They provide information and important notes to all students. Exams are also not that tough or easy. Semesters can be difficult, but they are beneficial to students' intelligence. Thirty-five percent is the pass percentage.

Not at all but overall is good.
Placements: Most of the students get placements in college if they have good skills and score the best grades every semester. The average salary package offered every year is above 3.5 LPA. My elder brother who studied in this college got placed with a salary package of 15 LPA. Famous companies that offered placements are Wipro, Infosys, etc.
Infrastructure: There are many clubs in the college like Saheli, Prakruthi, Spoorthi, etc. Clubs organize some special events every year. In February, the sports fest is conducted and well-performed students will be selected for college teams in their respective sports. The main hangout spot in the college is a canteen and a sports ground. The food is also cheaper in the college canteen than the outside restaurants. A gym is also available from morning 5 AM - 7 PM. We can spend our time in college up to 8 PM.
Faculty: Yearly two semesters and 4 internal examinations are conducted. The minimum percentage required to pass semester exams is 40%. The semester is held for 100 marks. Around 70 marks will be calculated from semesters end exams. Around 30 marks from internal tests. The average passing percentage is 75%.
Other: This college is very near to my home town. The infrastructure and atmosphere of the campus is very good. I applied only for this college and got a seat. The examination fee will be Rs. 15,00 for each semester. Students must complete an intermediate or diploma to pursue B.Tech.

A honest review of IGEC, a government college that is affordable.
Placements: Honestly, this college does not provide many placement opportunities. You cannot depend solely on the college for placement; you have to go for open campus drives and search for opportunities outside the college. From the college, you can expect an average package of 3-4 lakh.
Infrastructure: This college offers a total of five branches: IT, ME, CE, EC, and EE. The top branch is IT. The infrastructure of the college is quite good, but all the college buildings are old. The hostels are affordable, with three girls sharing one room, and food is also included in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are good enough to teach college subjects, but they do not cover any specializations. The course curriculum is solid, but you have to learn by yourself. Please do not depend only on teachers. Semester exams are somewhat tough, but if you study on your own, you can easily pass.
Other: This college is affordable, as the fee structure is very reasonable. Since it is a government college, you can take admission here. However, after admission, don’t depend on the college; focus on your skills, learn some special programming languages and DSA concepts, and go for open campus opportunities.

About the life and placement at IGEC Sagar.
Placements: In the batch of 2023, about 80 percent of students were placed, with an average package around LPA. Top recruiting companies included TCS and Infosys. To secure an internship, you need to strengthen your basics, but overall, there are good opportunities in this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in this college is not up to the mark. However, you get good equipment, though the main focus is on theory rather than practicals. The mess and hostel are good and affordable, with many canteens available. There are also plenty of sports facilities, like a large cricket ground and badminton court.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and knowledgeable, with good quality instruction. Since this college offers a BE course, the focus is mainly on theory over practical applications. Semester exams are reasonable, and if you study, you can pass them without difficulty.
Other: I chose this college because it’s government-affiliated, and with my JEE percentile, I didn’t qualify for a better one. It’s affordable and good, with a lush green campus, plus scholarships are available.
