Companies like KPMG, EY, Outlook and others came to our college for placements, and many girls were given jobs.

Usually the companies that come to my campus recruit students from commerce department and not from humanities so there was no on campus placement for our seniors.

B.A. (Economics, Entrepreneurship) - Batch of 2022

A very good place for gaining knowledge!
Placements: I was part of the Covid batch, so I went to college for the 1st year and then directly the last semester. That is why only 40 percent of the students went for placements, and the rest just went for higher studies, including me. Top 5 companies like Deloitte, TCS, Accenture, KPMG, etc. came for our placements, but only TCS offered placement opportunities for our course. The rest were all for B.Com (Hons) students. So that's why placements in our course were limited. The highest package went around 8 lakhs, and the average was 4-5 lakhs at our time; now it has increased.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure facilities in all of the South Campus are the best of Jesus and Mary College. It's spacious with 1 ground for outdoor sports and 1 for an outdoor gym, 1 indoor gym, 1 canteen and smartboards, Wi-Fi, labs, and 1 full 3-floor building dedicated to the library.
Faculty: The faculty is the best; they are supportive, knowledgeable, resourceful, and very kind towards any grievances of students. All the teachers are well-qualified and know their subjects very well. The course curriculum is also relevant and has now even improved a lot. Semester exams are of moderate level difficulty, so unless you don't miss all the internals, you are good to go.
Other: Societies and clubs are the best; you can select any club you want, and the crowd is a mix of all people. Societies include NCC, NSS, GREEN, PEACE, MERCATUS, MERCURIAN TIMES, and EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL. And even the placement cell is also run by students. The best thing about my course was you get to learn a lot about economics and entrepreneurship. It's not just an Arts subject but also has commerce involved in it. We had psychology as GE, we had Accountancy for SEC in 1 semester, we had EVS, so it's a mix of all.

B.A. (Hons.) in Economics - Batch of 2025
4.8
4Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
The college has good infrastructure and an elite crowd.
Placements: Around 47 to 50 students are enrolled in Economics Honours. To get into Economics Honours at JMC, one needs to score a minimum of 750 out of 800 marks in academics. In my batch, a few students were placed in Bain, and a few in Accenture. Companies recruiting from my course include KPMG, Genpact, Deloitte, and DE Shaw. The domains these companies offer include finance, marketing, and research.
Infrastructure: Jesus and Mary College is one of the most prestigious colleges of Delhi University. It is located in a peaceful and scenic spot in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The infrastructure consists of three major blocks that are administrative, academic, and a library block, nicknamed the L Building. There is also a stationery shop, two common rooms, an open gym area, a medical room, a football ground, a tennis court and basketball court. Thevenet Hall is probably the most conspicuous landmark of the infrastructure.
Faculty: Faculty members at Jesus and Mary College are generally well-qualified and very friendly. They keep the faculty-student ratio fairly well-balanced. Professors are pleasant and inspire participation from students in open discussions that result in a sound learning atmosphere. They provide guidance regarding academic matters as well as extracurricular projects. Individual experience with the faculty members may vary otherwise according to expectations from individuals with regard to subject matter preference. In Economics Honours, the majority of the papers are quantitative, thus necessitating a strong mathematical and statistical background.
Other: The Economics Honours course at Jesus and Mary College is updated, relevant, and in-depth, both theoretically and practically, with a specific focus on building the foundation of economic concepts and fostering analytical and problem-solving skills, so I have chosen this course. It is designed to build a strong foundation in economic concepts while encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The relevance and rigor of the course curriculum help in personal and professional development. The crowd here is often described as elite, with students excelling in academics, extracurricular, and leadership roles. At Jesus and Mary College (JMC), college life is full of opportunities.

A piece of my college youth.
Placements: Actually, I am an NCWEB student, so they don't provide placements for us. Although NCWEB is technically a regular program, students only need to come on Saturdays or Sundays due to pursuing other courses. We are called regularly for practicals, viva, and classes, so it's not like an open college. The lack of placement opportunities is expected because many students are involved in other professional courses and choose NCWEB.
Infrastructure: In terms of facilities and infrastructure, JMC is good for regular students but not for NCWEB students. They provide two large libraries for regular students, but for us, it's like a small store room that's not inviting. Our infrastructure, including our I-cards, seems very cheap. Compared to other colleges like Hansraj, which provide digital I-cards and libraries for NCWEB students, we feel neglected despite paying the same fees. When we approached the TIC, they were unhelpful and even shouted at us.
Faculty: Some teachers genuinely care about students and want them to succeed, while others are less invested and just go through the motions. The exams are tough, and although some students do well, there's a perception that not much is done about it.
Other: I chose this course just to complete my graduation because I need it for a foreign language course. My main concern is that the college does not offer fair treatment; regular students receive many more facilities and benefits, whereas we get very little. Festivals and events are managed by regular students, and while we are allowed to attend, we are not involved in activities or given scholarships.

B.A. (History, Political Science) - Batch of 2027

Amazing college amongst the all.
Placements: I don't think we have a placement option for the B.A. Programme department, whereas there is an option for the Commerce department and the Department of Economics. Well, I do not think that the Political Science department has a placement option, but I know that the Commerce department does have it. I'm reading an article of the placement cell of the college which mentioned that companies that came to college for placement are Wipro, Deloitte, HDFC, Axis Bank, Infosys, and a few more. I heard that they provide good packages also.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is so beautiful because firstly it is so big and well-constructed, meaning I got lost a few times in my first year. I still remember it took me one whole day to see every single corner of the college. It has two common rooms; both of them are amazing, and the amphitheater is so good. We also have three lifts in the college.
Faculty: The faculty is so nice. They make sure to complete the syllabus before time and make you understand every chapter so nicely. They provide you with notes before exams. If you have missed your class test, internal assessment, or assignment, they will give you many chances to submit it. Every teacher has their own and unique style of teaching, like Mark Sir teaches us about the facts, whereas Tanuja Mam tells us real-life stories, where we make our case study. All the professors of the Political Science department are tremendous.
Other: If I want to review my campus life in JMC, it is a dream come true. The crowd is so helpful and nice. What I notice is that JMC has the most crowd from DPS. If you like clubbing, Satya Niketan is near the college. It has amazing cafes and clubs. Every year, there is one fest also called Montage. Last time, Jasbir Jassi came to the college.

Top notch placement opportunities.
Placements: The placement ratio of our college is around 75%. The highest package a student grabbed was 23.05 LPA, the lowest was 6 LPA, and the average is 6.50 LPA and above. Top recruiting companies are Accenture, EY, KPMG, ICICI Bank, Wipro, Genpact, Godrej, MakeMytrip, ITC's Hotel Group, Axis Bank, and Nestle. Various internships are provided in the given SEC and VAC (Courses) that include streams like social media marketing, financial literacy, etc., with a stipend of up to 40k PM and an average of 12k PM. Last year, 300 students grabbed internship opportunities. In my course, the top roles offered are Data Analyst, Auditing, and HRM.
Infrastructure: Our college has the best infrastructure of any college in the university. We have a separate underground area with six labs that are fully connected to the Wi-Fi system. The library is huge, with thousands of books and articles, and a separate area with laptops for research and online learning. The canteen is always busy because the food is delicious and the portions are generous. The college also has excellent medical facilities. Sports are very important at JMC, and we have a large playing field for football, volleyball, badminton, and shooting. JMC girls have represented the college at the Olympics and won gold medals in shooting. The only downside is that there are no dormitories.
Faculty: The semester exams are average, but what matters is that JMC makes us industry-ready by skilling us up, not just for exams. The teachers are well qualified and have deep knowledge of their subjects and other subjects as well. When asked a question, they always have an answer.

Satisfied with the college.
Placements: Most students either go for higher studies or prepare for government exams after completing this course. As far as internships are concerned, students need to reach out to external sources themselves. Overall, the average package offered at the college was around 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: The facilities include a spacious amphitheater, an auditorium, well-equipped laboratories, a cafeteria, an indoor and outdoor gymnasium, a well-resourced library with both online and print material and more. The quality of food available in the mess and canteen is acceptable.
Faculty: The faculty in all the colleges of the University of Delhi is well qualified. The professors are very helpful when reached out to; they provide guidance and even study material to help out the students. The semester exams are not at all tough. The students need to focus on previous-year papers to be able to score well in their semester exams.
Other: The college has a lot going on year-round, be it competitions, seminars, sports events, cultural events, educational events or fests. Join societies and clubs for exposure and to acquire new skills.
