Dissatisfied because of no placements.
Placements: Only 10-20% well educated brilliant students are recruit from this college. The highest average package is 2-3 lac/annum and the lowest package 1-2 lac/annum. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, Tata. Some students do online internship in pvt IT companies due to covid. B.Sc. Geography hons. Is the good course in Jogamaya Devi College but it has several courses option.
Infrastructure: All the stuff like classroom, labs library are available. CCTV camera available in all over the college. But No Wi-Fi connection is available. Classroom library are average. Canteen facilities, hostel room, medical and Indoor game facilities are below average.
Faculty: Maximum teachers are well qualified and have good knowledge and experience. Teaching quality is good but some teachers are not so professional. Teachers are friendly. College semester exams are so difficult if you not learn full syllabus. Pass percentage is 60-70%.
Other: I chose B.Sc. Geography because I like geography subject. This college provides us good knowledge for our better future. No big events or extra curricular activities are celebrated in this college. Placement facilities need improvement.

It is an Average college .
Placements: Our college did not provide placement. No one was placed and no one got internships. We had no knowledge about internships and no one knew about placement. No package and no companies came to hire us. No one gave us offers for placement.
Infrastructure: College had a library with decent number of books related to Economics and a Wi-Fi too and classrooms were good enough. There was a canteen with hardly any food options. No medical facilities and had a game room and no hostel. Labs were not assigned to us for use. Only carrom board was in the game room.
Faculty: There were very few professors and very few responsible professors. They had good knowledge but few could not teach well. They finished the syllabus on time but we lacked practical knowledge. They were aware of the syllabus and taught accordingly. Few teachers gave their best others did not.
Other: I had economics in my higher secondary and I used to like that subject. So I thought of taking it up. The best part was mathematical economics that I liked the most. But our education system somehow lacks practical knowledge. I wish they could make the students give practical examples and real life knowledge about economics rather than going by the old syllabus and books which were written many years ago. It is important to know the history but also important to relate to the present and help to make the future better. No events or activities in my college. There were some scholarships and the crowd was average.

Our college provided me a base for what I am doing now.
Placements: Placements were not provided to our batch, even if they offered placements they wouldn't be very good. After doing B.Sc. in psychology I wasn't expecting much either. But I think they could have done better by introducing us to internships, choosing assistants, etc.
Infrastructure: We just had 4 rooms in which classes were taken. There was a decently enquire lab. We didn't need much at the grads level. I never remember facing any scarcity of lab resources though. Our professors gave us opportunities to try new things in the lab, which was interesting.
Faculty: The syllabus of our course could have been better, but what compensates was the teacher. They were awesome and inspiring. I like them all. They encouraged us to study. They were young and made the subject sound interesting. They taught with a lot of patience and never hesitated to repeated whenever required.
Other: In all the 3 years, I attended only one fest, and it was of below standards. But it was fine. I never related to the crowd there but they were simple people for sure.

I am very proud of my college. My college gave me many opportunities.
Placements: There is no placement facilities in B.Sc. psychology stream. But the college has very good faculty members. The behaviour of the office staff is very rough. But the faculty members are the main reason of students attraction towards this college. Thought there is no facilities of placements but students come here and get many opportunities to develop their knowledge.
Infrastructure: There was separated library for each department. And also a common library in asutosh building. Classrooms are very clean. Classmates were so cooperative. Free Wi-Fi was also available there. But quality of food available in the canteen was not so good, was not so hygienic.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful. They are very cooperative. Teachers are qualified but the guest lecturer in our department was not so knowledgeable. They didn't comply with our requirements of proper notes and all. The industrial psychology make the students initially ready for industry but after UG courses if students study industrial psychology as post graduate course they will be ready for industrial field.
Other: I choose B.Sc. psychology course because among many Science subjects this subject was quite interesting to me.

Dissatisfied with the library function. No placements.
Placements: This is a government college under Calcutta University. No placement is given to any students. Only students can take their degree from this college. Bachelor and Masters Degree only. No jobs are offered to any students. So no useful to study here.
Infrastructure: This college has many buildings. No a single building is jointed with the main building. Labs, Library and canteen is situated in the main building. Wi-Fi is only available after 11am. Games are not available. Canteen is very big but with less food items. Bathrooms are very dirty and always bad smelling. Labs are nice.
Faculty: Since its a morning college so maximum teachers are always absent during 6/7am classes. Some faculty members are helpful but some are not. Some teachers always do perciality with students. But some teachers are really very good. They helped us whenever we needed.
Other: No fests held. Only an annual functions occurs. No extracurricular activities.

This is an average college mixed quality of faculty and sub par facilities.
Placements: Since it's an undergraduate college under Calcutta university, don't expect placements. Sometimes you can expect certain seminars to happen but job placements has never happened in this college. Also no prospect of internship provided by the college.
Infrastructure: Jogamaya devi college operates in two buildings, one in the main ashutosh college building, and the other in the lane behind. There is no Wi-Fi or air conditioning, there are some smart classrooms, but those are seldom used. Classes are airy and big in ashutosh college, the other building in pretty cramped. Canteen is below average. College provides no hostel, but there are pgs nearby.
Faculty: Our economics department consisted of 3 permanent teachers and few part time lecturers. Teachers are pretty helpful, they provided proper notes and advice throughout our course, however this is only applicable for our department, other departments may differ. Pass or general subjects are taught very poorly.
Other: This is a morning college, classes start from 6:15 am. Fests and even do occur in the college, and there are certain scholarships that are provided by the college if one fits the criteria.
