A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is BE/BTech at KCC Institute of Technology and Management a good choice?

Based on various reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the pros and cons:

Positive Points:

Good College with Direct Admission, Better Placements, and Facilities.
Placements: The college is decent in terms of package. The highest shown on the hoardings is 98 LPA, but it's off-campus. However, the on-campus placements are decently good compared to a local private college. 4-5 LPA placements are seen frequently. The companies are like Infosys, Byju's, and these types of companies.
Infrastructure: The campus is quite good for the location. Hostels' Wi-Fi is pretty good, and the food is also nice. Sports facilities are not that great; they are below average. There are 3 canteens, which are quite good with normal rates. The ground is always clean, and plantations are there. The library is the best place in the college with multiple books, which can be issued for 15 days. After that, a fine of 5 rupees per day is imposed.
Faculty: Since the college follows the AKTU curriculum, the sessionals are based on the recommended syllabus. The faculty members are the best; they will always help you if you are stuck. There is a 75 percent attendance criteria, and if not maintained, a fine of 400 rupees per percent is imposed.
Other: The college is in a developing phase, but its growth is good to see. There are around 3000 students, with the majority in CS or related branches like AI, Data Science, etc. Connectivity is good as the college provides bus service, the metro is also nearby, and commercial buses also run.

Dissatisfied, of course, because of faculty and also unhappy with the college placement.
Placements: Approximately 40 to 50% students were placed every year in my course. This college is not good for placement. The highest package was 20 LPA. The lowest package is 2 LPA, and the average is 3 LPA to 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies of my course are TCS, Wipro, and HCL Technologies. 60 to 70% students got internships from my course in TCS, Infosys, Microsoft, Google, etc. Top roles offered in my course are AIML.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of KCC are good. It has many facilities like Wi-Fi, which is always available. Every classroom has its own air conditioner and fans, and the library is also good for students. The quality of the facilities in KCC hostel is good but not great at the same time. If you enter the KCC hostel, expect to face a very bad smell. The quality of the food available in the mess and canteen is very bad. It has no medical facilities. There are many types of sports played in KCC, like cricket, basketball, badminton, and indoor games like carrom, pool, etc.
Faculty: Yes, all teachers are qualified and knowledgeable, but not many teachers are helpful. The teaching quality of many teachers is good, but not all teachers. Remember this. Yes, this course curriculum is relevant. Yes, it does make the students industry-ready. The semester exam is not difficult if you know the answers. The pass percentage is not fixed, I think.
Other: I have chosen this course because in this course there are many opportunities where you can go. I wish I could improve my coding. Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarship, and extracurricular activities all happen in KCCITM.

Good infrastructure, not really satisfied with placements though.
Placements: Placement was average. A lot of students didn't get placed nicely and to be honest I'm not expecting much even for Myself. Internships here are provided on merit basis and that is also kind of minimal and average. Not someone can count on. Placements can be good only if you are an IT sector student with no back and alot of internship experience.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are not AC equipped and it gets very hot in summer seasons. Lab ACs are not working most of the times and computers are sometimes working and sometimes not. Food quality of hostel is unexplainable. The hostel has very strict rules for girls only not for boys and hostel facilities are a joke to the amount we paid. The people here are so interfering and always looking into students' business.
Faculty: Teachers are good. Not all of them. But the teaching is quite impressive for a college like this. They take the students to industrial visit according to sections and make them introduce to the outside engineering world. Exams are held in regular basis before any external exams for practice purpose and makes them ready. The exams are moderate to hard and a student can ace them if studied hard.
Other: I chose this course because of my in building interest in computer Science field. The things I'd improve about this college is their approach to practical field. They lack in that. This practical approach can make the students have a better understanding of what is taught in normal lectures. There are fests annually for B.Teach. Although B.Teach has less number of fests but the annual fest is big and is of 3 days and freshers parties are one to remember. The extra curricular activities are minimal and they do not promote them much.

Average college; if you don't have any option, then you can consider it.
Placements: I don't know much about placement, but it is average. Placement also depends on you, so that doesn't matter that much. The average you can go like 7 LPA, but the highest goes up to like 30 LPA or 35 LPA, and about 50% of students get the placement, but I don't know.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but the bathroom and classrooms are not maintained properly. Labs are good, and the canteen is well-equipped, but there are little to no sports events for B.Tech students. The hostel is average, and the food is also not that likable.
Faculty: Teachers are good; they know the basics and take regular tests and assignments, but only if you are studying at home. Mostly, teachers here are Ph.D. holders. They take 2 sessional exams before the semester, and it is not that hard if you study. The course curriculum is based on AKTU.

From my side, it is okay to take admission here.
Placements: Approximately 60 to 70% of students got placements in which 20 to 30% of students got their jobs off campus. In 2023, the average package of KCC Institute of Technology and Management is approximately 4 LPA. The highest package is probably 8 LPA through campus placement.
Infrastructure: Classes and all the infrastructure are kind of good (average), but the issue is that in the summers no air conditioning is provided, due to which it's become difficult for the students to take 8 hours of lectures in a class with the strength of 60 (approximately) students. Canteen food is nice (good) with affordable prices, but in the hostel mess, food doesn't feel worth it.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful to students except some of them. Teaching quality is kind of average. Maybe some part of preparing a student to be industry-ready is not that good. However, some good curriculum activities also happen. Semester exams are not so difficult; if students just study well, they can score good marks or a CGPA.

Of course, you can. There are several engineering entrance exams like: WBJEE, COMEDK, BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEE, KIITEE, etc. You can also consider private colleges in South India that are even better than some government colleges in the north.
