Q:   Can I get direct admission in KIET for BTech?

A: 

KIET, Ghaziabad BTech admissions are entrance-based. The admission on 85% of the total seats are for students who qualify the JEE Main entrance exam. For the remaining 15% seats, candidates are given option of getting admission via Management quota seats (direct admission) for its BTech programme. These management quota seats are filled at the institute level based on the merit scores obtained by students in Class 12 with PCM followed by a written test and personal interview. Additionally, the final seats are allocated through UPTAC Counselling process.

Good campus life and infrastructure.
Placements: This year, a boy secured the highest package of 61 LPA in the CSE AI branch. The average package is 7 LPA. Top recruiters are Infosys and TCS. My club member got an internship at Microsoft Research. Also, the placement data is going to be released by the college soon.
Infrastructure: There is a library which is accessible from 9 AM to 2 AM for hostellers. The entire campus has Wi-Fi. The hostel mess food is good. There is a cafeteria and other mini shops as well from where we can get food and drinks. There are grounds for football, cricket, badminton, tennis, kabaddi, basketball, and volleyball.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is very relevant. Since the institute has become autonomous, new courses have been included on outcome-based education (OBE). This course helps in making students ready for the industry. Semester exams are moderate. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: My batch is 2024 to 2028. I am in my 1st year. My course is B.Tech-CSE AI. The best thing about this course is that it has subjects which are more relevant to the industry. I wish old courses which are very theoretical should be replaced by new project-based learning courses. Many events keep taking place on the campus. Recently there was an IEEE Hackathon, Smart India Hackathon, and Innotech, and now, EPOQUE and RANN are coming. The campus is crowded. There are approximately 2,500 admissions this year. Surroundings are not very good but average. You will get many shops here.

If you're hardworking and passionate, you can pull off great things from this college.
Placements: In terms of placements, what I have heard from seniors and faculty is placements are doing well but most of the companies are mass recruiters. The average package is around 4 LPA. The highest package for this year (2024-25) is 60 LPA. Approximately 80% of placements were done last year of which 90% were mass recruiters.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent compared to the rest of AKTU colleges but has as mall campus area of 18 acres. It is fully maintained including all facilities such as 5-6 cafeterias, a gym, badminton court, lawn tennis court, basketball court, cricket ground, football ground, volleyball ground, tennis room, carrom room, and pool games.
Faculty: Our college is now autonomous. We have a new curriculum with subjects such as IOT, data structures, and web development which enhance our approach towards tech-based companies. Semesters are hill. We have all exams in college itself. The syllabus is reduced and more appropriate for core subjects such as DSTL, Calculus, COLD, and chemistry.
Other: Tech events occur regularly followed by small cultural events. An annual fest EPOQUE takes place every year in summer.

Overall, the college is good but you have to work on your own skills.
Placements: Almost 70% of students were placed last year. The average package is 4-5 Lacs per annum, the highest is 40 Lacs, and the lowest is 2-3 Lacs. Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Tata, HCL, etc. are the major companies for recruitment. 80% of students got internships, whether paid or unpaid. Software engineer, web developer, etc. are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: Labs, libraries, and classrooms are the best classrooms. They are fully AC and labs have proper chemicals and tools and experiments are done perfectly. The hostel is also the best. Sports, games, medical facilities, etc. are all available. The canteen is good and some food items are special .
Faculty: Teachers are good, helpful, and have proper knowledge of their subjects, including practicals. Yes, the curriculum is relevant and also helpful for industrial work and practical knowledge is given to students. The pass rate is 7-8 sgpa, which is good but we need to maintain in every semester without back in any subject .

Placements: The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department at KIET Group of Institutions has a commendable placements record. Graduates are recruited by leading companies like NVIDIA Graphic, Amazon, Cisco, Wipro, Talent Next, Yantra Byte, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, TCS, etc. The highest salary package offered to ECE students is 60 LPA. The average package is 5.11 LPA. The top roles offered to ECE students are software engineer, data analyst, business analyst, etc. The corporate relations and placement center (CRPC) at KIET plays a vital role in guiding students toward achieving their career goals and being well-prepared for industry demands.

Review about my new branch ELCE.
Placements: This is the new branch adopted by our college. This year but at a global level many popular universities have already adopted this branch. It's a combination of hardware and software. My batch is the first batch of this branch that's why there is no placement record.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is well and good. They provide high-speed Wi-Fi for students to do coding and some other work. Classrooms with a smart board and 4 air conditioners in it. Library is the best and provides sufficient books for study. I'm a day scholar that's why I can't tell about hostel and mess.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is great but some teachers teaching quality is excellent. Course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exam level is good. Pass percentage criteria is 30%.

Overall, it is average.
Placements: The college placement record is below average. The number of companies visiting campus is limited. The average salary offered is lower than other colleges in the region. The placement cell does not provide adequate support to students in their job search.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the course and hostel is average. Classrooms are clean and well-maintained. But the equipment is outdated and the hostel rooms are comfortable. The common areas are not well-maintained. The food is average but the variety is limited. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Faculty: The course curriculum and exams are both challenging and rewarding. The curriculum is well-designed and covers a wide range of topics. Exams are fair and assess my understanding of the materials. I learned a lot from this course and would recommend it to others.
Other: I chose this course because it was the best option left for me. If the placements of the course get better then it would be a great course. Events and campus crowd are average and it could be improved a bit.
