    About My M.Sc. Clinical Psychology.
Placements: You can choose any psychology area for an internship. I went to BMCRI-Victoria Hospital, which gave me immense exposure. This is a 40-day internship. Before placement, we have special sessions by the placement cell, such as resume preparation, how to attend interviews, etc. I was placed in Insight. After completing a few months, I went to my home state, Assam, and joined a convent school as a school psychologist. The package depends on many factors: company, roles, interview, etc. The salary is in the range of 3.6 to 7.2 LPA.
Infrastructure: I am from Assam, and the first time I saw the college, I became confused. It took some time to adjust to Bangalore. Most students are from Kerala. The college is best in terms of education, but the fest timing is too strict. The college has Wi-Fi in all parts of the building. The library is good but mostly crowded during exam time; there is no space. The college provides hostels for males and females. My hostel's name is St. Chavara. After 9 PM, there is a curfew in the hostel; no one is allowed to enter or exit. The food is mainly South Indian cuisine, with chicken and vegetables. It is totally different from my native food habits.
Faculty: Course structure is good, but management is bad. They are too ambitious with projects and the portion, so they are not able to finish anything on time. They treat you as a kid, or worse than a kid. Teachers and staff do not give any personal space to us. Teachers are Ph.D. holders but lack common sense. Even though it is autonomous, it comes under Bangalore University. In the first two semesters, we have core subjects, and in the third and fourth, some elective subjects are introduced. Aptitude is given first priority from the first semester itself.
Other: I am interested in psychology from the beginning. I read many reviews of KJC and was impressed with its placement, so I decided to join KJC.

    Strict but good college.
Placements: Good placement opportunities are available as the college starts offering internships from the first semester itself. Many NGOs and foundations offer internships, such as Akshadaa Foundation, Mandhiram Hospital, and more. Adding internship experience to your resume strengthens it. Job placements begin in the final semester, with many hospitals and therapy centers offering jobs, and some students even start their own clinics. Blossom Valley Therapy Centre is a notable recruiter offering psychologist roles. The salary for freshers is around 30,000, and internships tend to offer lower salaries.
Infrastructure: The college is situated in a pleasant environment with a lot of greenery. Most students are Malayali, and I don’t like that the sports ground is away from the campus and that the college is located in a somewhat remote area, which makes traveling an issue. There are four different libraries on campus, and each floor has a hall. Every classroom is equipped with a projector. The college does not run its own hostels, but there are plenty of PG and private hostels nearby. There are also many options for food in the messes.
Faculty: When it comes to grooming and dress code, teachers are very strict. While they are good at teaching and well-qualified, the strictness can be overwhelming. The college only conducts one major event, Ethnic Day, where all activities are managed very strictly by the teachers. The course is well-structured with more hours dedicated to practical sessions; we have two practical sessions each day, which helps us become industry-ready. There are many exams each semester, both written and practical, but more emphasis is placed on written exams. Approximately 85% of students pass.
