Good campus with peace and knowledge.
Placements: About 150 students were placed in this course, divided into three groups: first, second, and third year. Especially, there are no packages offered; this course is a qualification for higher studies, not fully for a permanent job or placement. Indian companies like Hero Motors, Honda, and Suzuki are present. I think almost only 55% of students got internships from companies, maybe it's paid or unpaid. They don't have roles or categories, just a qualification for higher roles.
Infrastructure: Yes, here we have good and useful infrastructure in our department. A huge library was provided for maintaining our skills in history and gaining extra knowledge from outside the syllabus. Mainly the hostel was pretty good. It's a normal-looking hostel. Electricity, water, and a calm system are available. The food quality is a little bit backward, sometimes it was not good to taste or healthy. Canteen facilities are good, affordable prices are there. Good medical support is there. Highly encouraging sports and games, college recruiting students on the basis of sports and games activities.
Faculty: The faculty members are very good and highly experienced. They know how to reach things perfectly because they are very experienced and knowledgeable. High-quality teachers are there. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant because it makes the student industry-ready for the afterlife or a good career. The semester exams are in the order of Calicut University; they do the exams on the correct date provided by the university. The average percentage of passing was 26%.
Other: I chose this course because I would like to study ancient things, and there is a scope in studying this course. It is also easy to pass for the student who has a passion for historical things. I don't think there is a preference for bettering my course because it was running in a perfect way. The college conducts so many events like sports and arts; also events provided by the union. The arts fest was such an amazing experience because it looks like a race within all departments. Sports is also a competition between the departments in our college. At the end of the year, we conduct a campus fest for recruitment also. Not a highly crowded campus, it was a medium crowd. All departments have a minimum number of students. Faculty members and students have a connection between them. Their relationship was unforgettable because it was a beautiful chapter in my own life. The peaceful atmosphere was given by the college surroundings. Scholarships are running yearly. Extra activities are held in departments for promoting the hidden talents of the students.

Our college is providing every facilities and I am satisfied with campus life.
Placements: Placements are provided for skilled students in companies like Wipro which is highly accredited. Most students are getting jobs and applying for various good. Economics is a degree with wide variety of opportunities. College is highly reputed.
Infrastructure: College provides every facility including canteen, hostel, medical facilities, etc. There are labs for every subject. Classrooms are very spacious. There is a big library which provides most of the books.
Faculty: Teachers are highly skilled, experienced, and very much knowledgeable, and most of them are Ph.D. qualified. Some of the teachers will not provide the notes necessary and it leads to a lack of study materials. The course curriculum is relevant and makes the students capable of working after the course. Exams are easy to pass but need a little hard work to get good marks. There is a good pass percentage.
Other: I chose this course accidentally but I loved the course and campus very much after joining. The course has a wide variety of opportunities. There is a need to provide notes. There are lot of events, fests, and extracurricular activities. College is providing scholarships. Campus surrounding is very calm and friendly. There is a good campus crowd and connectivity.

B.A. in Functional English - Batch of 2026
    3.4

Absolute gem of a college in Calicut. Welcoming and friendly faculty members. Great infrastructure.
Placements: As Malabar Christian College (MCC) is an arts college, there wasn't any direct placement from the college itself. The placements are only done when external companies show interest in hiring young minds. Even though they do interviews in college, the placements have been relatively low.
Infrastructure: For a college within a limited space within the heart of the Calicut town, the college is very highly built. The college has a separate two-story library building, which will be inaugurated in the coming year. Every class is equipped with projectors, fans, lights, and a common laptop. Wi-Fi is also available commonly in each department. MCC doesn't have any hostels under their name, but many rooms and PG are available. Getting a place to stay in Calicut won't be a hassle.
Faculty: MCC has always been blessed with great faculty members, and the college is well known around the district for its teaching quality. And the curriculum that comes under the Calcicut University is very relevant and is valued as the best curriculum among any universities in Kerala. MCC also provides German as a second language, which is not available in any other colleges in Kerala. The difficult semester exams are a bit above average standards, but all in all, it's worth the hassle. Pass percentage is 35%.
Other: I chose the course solely based on my liking for teaching, and it's been enjoyable so far. The campus is known for its events and setup. The college has its own fest called MCC Carnival, and on every special occasion, the college union hosts relatively large programs. MCC is also well known for its dominance in sports such as boxing, Kabaddi, cricket, and rugby. The management and union also support sports activities.

B.A. in Functional English - Batch of 2023
    4
    3Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Offers great faculty and campus life, placements vary from year to year.
Placements: As it is not a professional course there are not a lot of direct placement options. But there are some companies which look for young and talented candidates with good communication skills but them approaching our college depends on the vacancies which are not always many. Though there are sources which says that jobs like translator, journalist, relations officer and so on after B.A. in functional English it is necessary to specialise or take up other courses after the degree to get placed in such jobs. There are no companies offering internship for students from the course at the moment but we've been informed that with the covid situation calming down more companies will approach the institution.
Infrastructure: The institution has a library that is open from 9:30am to 3:30pm. The library is well organised and has a good collection of books from all fields and genres. All classrooms in the department has projectors and are smart classrooms. College doesn't provide hostel facility. There are lot of private hostels, rooms and options of homestay around the college as the college is in the centre of the city. The canteen isn't the best but there are many good cafes and restaurants within walkable distance from the institution and there are private messes which provide food to students at very low prices. There's no medical room but first aid facilities are available and as for sports and games, the college has cricket football and kabbadi teams in college out of which the kabbadi team won the last championship.
Faculty: Faculty of the department is the best in the city. There are professors with doctorates and some of them are doing their doctorates. They are knowledge and maintain good relationships with students. They are easy to approach and are very reliable. The course is definitely better than English . literature if you are not into English . history and literature and are looking for a more practical side to English. The subjects provided in the course make the students industry ready than any other course with papers like translation, communication, business English . and so on. Exams are conducted by the university and the scale of difficulty varies from year to year. Pass percentage is above 85 percent.
Other: I wasn't really interested in studying history of English . and literature from ages ago and wanted to focus more on the current and future side of English . The course preps students to opt for a variety of courses afterwards like translation studies, journalism etc. The drawback I found was that not many people are aware of the course and there are not a lot of colleges offering it. So when you say you're studying this course people don't seem to understand. And it would really be great if the exams were conducted on time and results came faster. The college hosts a lot of events with MCC Carnival being the best if all. It's 3 day event with artists from throughout the country performing and a lot of other interesting shows. The campus is fairly friendly. The buildings are as old as they were built by the British some 200 years ago but there are new blocks. The old block has a beautiful vintage vibe which no other institution could offer. The institution conducts a lot of quizzes, seminars, discussions and other programs at inter and intra collegiate level. College doesn't provide scholarship.

    It is an excellent college.
Placements: In our college, more than 80% of students got placed. Almost 20-50% of students got placed in medical colleges. Students who aspire to study well and achieve higher marks needed to join this college to secure well-paying and good jobs. The college produced successful professionals in various fields, such as medicine, engineering, accounting, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college provided excellent facilities. Wi-Fi was available. Air-conditions were available in classrooms. The hostel was good. The canteen was good. The quality of the food was delicious. They provided comfortable cabins for students.
Faculty: Exams were much improved, allowing students to achieve better marks and excel in NEET courses. The college was well-prepared to offer all the necessary courses. The college had excellent NEET classes, making it a great learning environment for all students.
Other: It is an excellent course for accounts management and development courses.
