MIT Institute of Design BDes Courses & Fees 2025: Admission Dates, Placements & Seats

The cost of the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program at MIT Institute of Design is approximately INR 5,64,750 for the academic year, which includes various components such as tuition fees, development fees, university fee, hostel charges, mess charges, laundry charges, and a security deposit. It is important to note that the fee structure is subject to an annual increase of 10%, so students can expect a 10% increment in the total fees in subsequent years. The tuition fee is around 6-7 lakhs per year, and the total cost for the B.Des program is almost 6 lakhs for 4 years. 

As of the latest available information, the minimum CAT percentile required for admission to the B.Des programme at MITID of Design is 30 percentile. This indicates that candidates need to score at least 30 percentile in the Common Admission Test to be eligible for consideration in the admission process.

The relatively lower cutoff suggests that the institute may adopt a more inclusive approach, considering a diverse range of candidates for admission to the B.Des program. While the CAT percentile is a crucial component, it's essential to note that admission criteria may involve other factors such as academic performance, portfolio assessment, and possibly a personal interview.

After clearing the CAT the qualified students have the aptitude test that has to be cleared in order to reach the next step that is interview. After clearing interview only the students get the admission into the MIT of design and technology.

To apply for BDes in MIT Institute of Design candidates are required to appear in the Institute based entrance exam MIT DAT (MIT Design Aptitude Test). Intially candidates are required to fill the online apllication form for MIT DAT and upload all the required documents. Candidates will receive the admit card online. After the exam candiates will be summoned for the personal interview followed by studio test. 

BDes is the Undergrauate level flagship programme offered by the MIT Institute of Design. BDes is offered in various specialisation. BDes admission process includes university level entrance exam i.e. MIT DAT (Design Aptitute test). First step is to complete the eligble criteria (Class 12 passed), next filling the application form of MIT DAT and scoring a minimum required score in the test. And finally apperaing for the Studio test and the personal interview, which finalises the selection pocess of the course.

The Studio Test and Personal Interview for the M.Des programs will be conducted from May 14-18, 2025. Meanehile, the Studio Test and Personal Interview for the B.Des programs will be held from May 6-13, 2025.

It is mandatory for candidates to appear in all the stages of the MITID DAT 2025 exam. This means, candidates who have qualified the written exam but doesn't appear in the Studio Test and Interview, he or she will not be included in the final results.
