NID Gandhinagar Admission 2025: Application, Eligibility, Fee & Selection Criteria

To fill the NID Gandhinagar application form (online), candidates need to follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: You need to register yourself or sign up on the official admission website of NID (http://admissions.nid.edu). For this, you need to enter a valid email address and mobile number.

Step 2: Login to the account with the mobile number and email id through which you have registered.

Step 3: Fill in personal and educational details correctly and click on ‘save and proceed’ to go to the next section.

Step 4: Upload the asked documents— a recent passport-size coloured photograph between 60 and 100 KB size; scanned signature not exceeding 100 KB; caste certificate issued by a competent authority not exceeding 150 KB.

All the above-mentioned documents must be in jpg/jpeg format.

Step 5: After uploading all documents, click on ‘save and proceed’ to pay the application fee online (debit/credit card) or offline (demand draft). You may also click on ‘save and exit’ to complete the form at a later date or time.

In case candidates of offline fee payment, you need to send a demand draft and a printout of the application form in an envelope at the below-mentioned address—

NID Gandhinagar PhD Application Process 2025

The application form for PhD programme is available online and students can follow the steps mentioned below to fill out the application form:

Step 1: Visit the PhD link of NID at www.phdadmissions.nid.edu to fill out the application form. Please note that the website for PhD admissions is different from the main website.

Step 2: Once you get the application form, fill in the basic details— name, DOB, gender, address, mobile number and email. On completion, NID will send an email, which you are advised to save for future reference.

Step 3: After receiving the confirmation mail, you need to pay the application fee of INR 5,000 if they belong to the General category and INR 2,500 if you belong to the SC, ST or PwD category.

Step 4: To complete the application process, you need to send the application form with self-attested physical copies of all supporting documents mentioned above in a single envelope to the following address:

NOTE: The fee amount mentioned above is as per past years' records. Hence, is indicative.

Documents needed to be submitted along with PhD application form:

• Research proposal of 2,000-3,000 words as a hard copy
• Recommendation letter from three referees
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer
• Candidates applying under the SC and ST categories are required to upload their valid Caste Certificate issued by a competent authority as per the guidelines of the Government of India
• Candidates applying under the Persons with Disability (PwD) category are required to submit their valid Disability Certificate issued by a competent medical authority as per the guidelines of the Government of India
• Two recent passport-size photographs. These must be coloured photographs taken at a professional studio. Photographs taken via mobile phone and other kinds of self-composed portraits will not be accepted
