National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences, popularly known as NIMHANS is an autonomous university located in Bangalore, Karnataka was established in 1974. NIMHANS was declared as an “Institute of National Importance” by the Government of India in 2012. The institute was conferred ‘Deemed to be University’ status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1994. NIMHANS offers various courses at Undergraduate, Diploma, Postgraduate, Master's Degree, Super Specialty Medical, Fellowship, PhD, and Post-Doctoral Fellowship levels. Admission to all the programs is based on merit in their respective entrance examinations. The fees structures of various courses at NIMHANS includes; the first-year fee for a BSc at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) in Bangalore is INR.22,550. The total tuition fee for a BSc in Nursing at NIMHANS is INR.1.40 lakh. This includes a one-time payment of INR.6,000 for registration fees, caution money, and hostel deposit. Other courses and their first-year fees at NIMHANS include: UG Diploma INR. 12,200.
