B.Tech. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering - Batch of 2028

I like this institute's placement and facilities, but not the mess.
Placements: My course is Metallurgical and materials engineering. I am nitrr28 batch. In my course the percentage of students placed were 92%. The highest package of this course is 25 Lacs, the lowest is 8 Lacs, avg 12 Lacs. Internship percentage is 90% also. This course is important course in this college. This course committee is mesto.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is well. Library in college, Wi-Fi and either net in hostel. Best class room also. The placement of my branch is very good. Lab facilities also available. Canteen also available in college. The message food is very simple. Medical facilities is also very good. The sport facilities is good. In winter season every year college arrange various games.
Faculty: All teachers are Ph.D. qualify. Their teaching style is very good. They have also best knowledge. Yes it makes the industry ready. There are 2 exam in every semester. One is mid and another is end. The pass percentage is 90%. The College is very well.
Other: This course placement is very well. My course facilities are best among other branches. If you will read well, then you give you r best effort in exam. The important scholarship of this institute is NSP. The various clubs and communities of college arrange various fest. College front view looks well. Campus is best.

B.Tech. in Mining Engineering - Batch of 2028
3.2

Review: NIT Raipur Mining branch.
Placements: About 70 % of students got placed at NIT Raipur the previous year. The highest package was 55 Lakh on campus and 1.5 crore off campus. The average package delivered to the students was 10 Lakh and the median was 9 Lakh. Many big companies like Google, Wipro, Infosys, and Tata steal arrive here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not so good. The campus is small, about 80 acres. Classes are well-equipped with projectors and the campus has a Wi-Fi facility also. The library has a good environment for study. The sports complex is there, a volleyball and a badminton ground is also here.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. You have to study for semester exams otherwise you will not pass the exam. The curriculum is quite relevant and it makes students industry-ready. Overall 90 percent of students pass every year.
Other: I am a mining branch student. I opted for this course because I have an interest in it.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2026

Faculty members are not up to par, but overall experience is nice to date.
Placements: My course placement rate is 60 percent, which is quite low compared to other branches. The highest package was 12 LPA, and the lowest was 6 LPA. The placement scenario is questionable. If you want to talk about my internship, I have done an internship at Cspdcl. So in the core, you get an unpaid internship.
Infrastructure: Faculties not as expected quite average learning experience mostly we prepare from YouTube. The hostel facility is decent, but only a small number of students get hostels. Because there are only 5 hostels on campus with a capacity of 1500 students. So it is difficult to get a hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are not that helpful; they are only busy with their work. Hope so many high p pe has come out of our college. Semester exams are tough; you need to study for 40 percent of top marks. Our college has a CPI system, so you need to have a good CPI overall to get a good result.
Other: I was not getting better in college in my JEE rank. Fests are nice, but they are not frequent; we only attend three fests a year, but we enjoy them a lot.

B.Tech. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering - Batch of 2028
4.2
4Placements3Infrastructure5Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Good placements and faculty, infrastructure is not good.
Placements: I am currently enrolled in batch of 2028 in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Branch here at NIT Raipur, It is one of the oldest branches of NIT Raipur. Currently placement percentage is above 90 percent as per the official data for year 2023-2024. the highest package offered was around 16 LPA, the lowest was around 5 LPA, average package was 9.80 LPA. Top Recruiters were JSW, Vedanta, Aditya Birla Group, ZS Associate. Around 80 percent of students got internships in companies like JSW, L&T, Vedanta, Wipro.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent but not excellent, new buildings are being constructed. There is Wi-Fi facility, library, canteens, dispensary. For my department there are all facilities including labs and resources. Hostels here are excellent but accommodation is limited for which students reside outside campus, Medical and Sports facilities are good here.
Faculty: Faculty members here are well qualified in their respective fields, Teaching Quality is decent. Course Curriculum is excellent which make students industry ready, it is relevant to other NITs/IITs. Semester Exams are not that difficult but involves logical thinking.
Other: I chose this course seeing the course curriculum, best thing is course structure designed to develop logical thinking and innovative skills. There are regular events taking place, Major fests are Teach fest ( Aavartan), Cultural fest ( Electika ). Campus Crowd is good, it is well connected with other big cities and is only 5 kms from railway station.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2024
3.6
4Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Dissatisfied at first but fallen in love with the college due to its education and good placements.
Placements: At my time, there was about 80–85% placement for the Electrical batch. The highest package for the electrical branch was 52 LPA. The average package was around 11 LPA, and the lowest was 6 LPA. Companies like Oracle, DBOI, Deloitte, and PwC visited our campus for software roles. Also, there were a lot of companies in the core sector. PSUs such as BPCL EIL visited our campus. Internship was also good; many students got that in our 3rd year.
Infrastructure: At NIT Raipur, infrastructure is not good. Only one hostel is there for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students. Around 25 students from each batch of each year get hostel accommodation, which is based on the reservation policy and CGPA till the semester. For first-year students, there is a separate hostel in which accommodation is decided on the basis of JEE Main rank and distance of their hometown. There is Wi-Fi in the hostel. There is one central library, and for each year there is one classroom. The quality of food in the mess is average. There is one big field where you can play various sports.
Faculty: The professors at NIT Raipur are very helpful. They are highly qualified from various IITs. They are very knowledgeable and clear doubt easily. The marking scheme is based on CGPA. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that it is helpful for students in making them industry-ready. The semester exam is not very difficult. You have to secure 35% in the end semester to pass the semester in each subject.
Other: I chose an electrical course because I was interested in it from my 11th grade. I like to solve problems. Colleges organise various fests around the year, including sports, cultural fests, etc. Overall, it is a good experience in NIT Raipur.

Review of NIT Raipur - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: We have a separate committee that looks after placements. The placement is about 50% in my branch, I would say. But after getting placed, only 30% actually take up the job. The hiring process of the coordinators for this committee could use some changes. But it's okay overall.
Infrastructure: The hostel has very few seats. Also, it's not like hostels are very luxurious or anything. They are unhygienic. Sure, people survive and if given the chance, I would like to stay. But there are a lot of things that can be fixed. The college building and classrooms are average, I would say.
Faculty: They don't teach like they want us to become good engineer. They teach us enough that we get a taste of how everything is, not diving deep into anything. It's good and bad in some sense. The exams are good; they start and finish within a week so that's a plus point.
Other: I cannot say about other departments. But the permanent faculties of our department are very great at what they do. Their experience, passion for teaching and liking for the subject—everything reflects while they teach. It's safe to say I enjoy listening to their experiences.
