B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2027

Best institute for engineering.
Placements: Placements are good. Last year, almost 90% of students got their placement offers. The highest salary package offered is 62 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 13 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, GE Healthcare, ZS Associate, Vedanta, Jindal Steel, Tata Steel, Caterpillar, BPCL, etc.
Infrastructure: It was initially a state engineering college, which was converted into NIT later. The infrastructure is not very good. The entire campus has Wi-Fi connectivity including classrooms, labs, and a library. The hostel is not sufficient, and it is allotted on the basis of student's academic performance. The food quality provided by the mess is average.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and well-behaved. All faculty members have Ph.D. in their respective fields. They are very supportive. Most of the courses are industry-relevant, but they need some improvement on it. Semester exams in the college are very easy, and almost 50% of questions are repeated from the past year. Almost all students pass exams.
Other: I chose this course because it has the broadest fields in engineering, offering opportunities in automobile, manufacturing, aerospace, energy, etc. There are a lot of clubs and committees. A few of them are Sanskriti which organizes a cultural fest, Technocracy organizes a technical fest, and Shaurya organizes a sports fest in the college.

B.Tech. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering - Batch of 2028

College facilities are good, and this link is also good.
Placements: The maximum students are placed in NIT Raipur. My branch is Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. My branch placement is 92%. I will pass out from the college in 2028. In my branch, the highest package is 25 Lacs, the lowest package is 10 Lacs, and the average package is 12 Lacs. Many top companies offer placements here.
Infrastructure: Hostels are not available for all students. Hostels are distributed according to rank. In the hostel, food is very simple. There are not many varieties of food available. In the hostel, everyone has a separate bed, table, chair, shelf with a clock, study table, and a separate internet connector. Medical facilities are also good, and various medicines are available.
Faculty: Faculty members are all Ph.D. qualified and well-experienced, and they teach well. They are very strict and systematic. There are 8 semesters in 4 years, and every semester has a mid-semester and end-semester exam. Exams are held systematically. Teaching quality is special, hygienic, and follows rules and regulations.
Other: I chose this branch according to my JEE Main rank and the branch's best placement. I think this course is best for me. I think the course is best. More homework and tasks are helpful for students. Every day the college has many events. Fests are also held every two months. The campus is very good, and the outside campus is also very good. The best scholarship for students is the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Faculty members are not up to par, but overall experience is nice to date.
Placements: My course placement rate is 60 percent, which is quite low compared to other branches. The highest package was 12 LPA, and the lowest was 6 LPA. The placement scenario is questionable. If you want to talk about my internship, I have done an internship at Cspdcl. So in the core, you get an unpaid internship.
Infrastructure: Faculties not as expected quite average learning experience mostly we prepare from YouTube. The hostel facility is decent, but only a small number of students get hostels. Because there are only 5 hostels on campus with a capacity of 1500 students. So it is difficult to get a hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are not that helpful; they are only busy with their work. Hope so many high p pe has come out of our college. Semester exams are tough; you need to study for 40 percent of top marks. Our college has a CPI system, so you need to have a good CPI overall to get a good result.
Other: I was not getting better in college in my JEE rank. Fests are nice, but they are not frequent; we only attend three fests a year, but we enjoy them a lot.

My experience at NIT Raipur.
Placements: The top roles offered were data analytics, data scientist, and software development engineer. The placement percentage was around 90% for my branch. Not a lot of people got internships in our college. The average placement was around 8 LPA, with 55 LPA the highest. This college provides good opportunities.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are just okay. Wi-Fi is available on campus. The library is one of the worst in any college, especially with really bad rules. Our library closes on Saturday and Sunday, and from Monday to Friday, it remains open until 8 PM only, making it useless for us students.
Faculty: Some faculty are really bad, and as for the curriculum, it feels like you're studying in a state college and not an institute of national importance. The frequency of exams is too high, and there is hardly enough time to learn any concept, especially with the really strict 75% rule.
Other: The crowd is really nice here. Our seniors are really good and supportive. They have been guiding us from almost day 1.

It is a very good college in it's own way. 7/10 can be awarded for the NIT Raipur.
Placements: Companies visit for campus recruitment, but only from the IT, consultancy, and analytics sectors. This year, we are trying to invite companies from the healthcare industry and food biotech industries to visit us, but it will take some time. The core biotech companies offer satisfying packages, and hence we are not very keen on inviting them.
Infrastructure: We have well-built labs and classes. The Wi-Fi facility is good, but there is a problem with the provisions of the hostel. In the first year, you get the hostel based on your JEE rank, taking category and distance into consideration. They are unable to expand the campus as it is in the center of the city. They are planning to build a new campus. All the equipment for sports and games is available, depending on your interest. The institute has a well-organized, magnificent building symbolizing its grandeur. This huge building alone covers a total area of 62,060 sq. m. It is a triple-storied planned structure along with a central tower standing up to 23 meters high. There are 35 lecture halls extending over an area of 6,675 sq. m and 13 drawing halls/studios extending over an area of 3,510 sq. m, with about 85 labs over an area of 11,510 sq. m. The other amenities comprise a canteen, cycle stand, N.C.C., N.S.S. department, a student activity center, a cooperative store, and a dispensary. The building is being further extended for the architecture and electronics departments. The campus includes the college building, canteen building, Training and Placement Office, 5 boys' hostels for 1st-year students, one major boys' hostel which is quite on par with IIT standards, 2 girls' hostels, two gardens, one basketball court, faculty quarters, a dispensary, and an events ground. For sports, Hostel H has badminton courts inside, and they can be found inside the main college building's verandah as well. Classrooms have air conditioning, but it depends on the department head whether they give permission to use them or not. Labs are good; the campus has Wi-Fi, but you don't get the range everywhere except for labs, the library, and hostels. Hostel rooms are renovated and quite well-furnished. The quality of mess food is also nice.
Faculty: The quality of faculty members is definitely not of NIT standard and is only slightly above average. The crux lies in the fact that faculty members have a hard time building an intriguing class. That being said, yes, most teachers are helping, which tasks students to explore beyond studying.
Other: Objectively, the whole experience is okay, but subjectively, you eventually start to cope, live, and enjoy it. In a very unintended and disguised way, it teaches you a lot. The library is poorly maintained, and no online material is purchased, which makes some students explore the free side and exploit more from faculty members. The infrastructure is poor; labs weren't maintained, and there are hostel issues. However, the new Director has enormously paced the work regarding infrastructure, and change can be seen quarterly.

Review of NIT Raipur - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: We have a separate committee that looks after placements. The placement is about 50% in my branch, I would say. But after getting placed, only 30% actually take up the job. The hiring process of the coordinators for this committee could use some changes. But it's okay overall.
Infrastructure: The hostel has very few seats. Also, it's not like hostels are very luxurious or anything. They are unhygienic. Sure, people survive and if given the chance, I would like to stay. But there are a lot of things that can be fixed. The college building and classrooms are average, I would say.
Faculty: They don't teach like they want us to become good engineer. They teach us enough that we get a taste of how everything is, not diving deep into anything. It's good and bad in some sense. The exams are good; they start and finish within a week so that's a plus point.
Other: I cannot say about other departments. But the permanent faculties of our department are very great at what they do. Their experience, passion for teaching and liking for the subject—everything reflects while they teach. It's safe to say I enjoy listening to their experiences.
