On NEET Cutoffs

Q:   Can we get admission with 28460 rank in NEET UG to get a seat in the Medical department of North Bengal Medical College?

A:

No, it is not possible to get into North Bengal Medical College at 28460 rank via NEET UG. To secure a seat at the institute, candidates need to acquire a rank below or equal to the NEET UG cutoff. Considering the North Bengal Medical College cutoff 2024, the last round cutoff rank stood at 15433 for the MBBS course under General AI category. And, the 28460 rank is comparatively far more than the cutoff rank released by the institute for the General AI category candidates. So, students acquiring this rank will not be able to get admission at North Bengal Medical College. Further, candidates can check year-wise MBBS cutoff for General AI quota from the table below:

Satisfied with the college, absolute fantastic surroundings, and great affordability.
Placements: As this is a medical college, there are no provisions for placements. After completing the MBBS, there are options for doing PG, house staffship, and others. All the students of the batch have to do a compulsory internship after the completion of the course for 1 year in the same hospital.
Infrastructure: The lecture theatres are well-equipped with air conditioning, good benches and tables, and projectors. The library is well-equipped with air conditioning and a huge amount of books available. The hostel is quite good and affordable, with a fee of only 144 rupees yearly. The mess is also good, with both veg and non-veg options.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, very helpful, and friendly. The teaching methods are interactive. The course curriculum is related to the NMC guidelines and helps students treat patients with good knowledge. There are final professional exams yearly with a good level of difficulty, and almost all students pass the exams.
Other: There are academic fests like NUMESCON, cultural fests like PLASMA, and many other sports competitions held on the campus. The weather is quite nice and cool.

Infrastructure needs to be improved.
Placements: Currently I'm a 3rd proff (part 1) student. The interns in our college right now are currently receiving a stipend of Rs. 30000. During the internship, many people opt for working in a private nursing home as well and hence earn a fairly good amount. Post-internship, many doctors opt for house staffship, during which they get a salary of Rs. 45000–50000; during this time they can also prepare for NEET PG exams. Apart from post-graduation, you can also opt for GDMO with a salary of Rs. 80000-90000.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is subpar. Hostels are pretty old and need renovation. We have two hostels for senior students (3rd year, 4th year, interns, and housestaff), one for juniors (1st year and 2nd year), and a PG hostel as well. Classrooms of 1st and 2nd year subjects are air conditioned. From 3rd year onwards, classes are mostly conducted in the wards/seminar rooms. We have two mess and a college canteen. Food served is hygienic; we also have the option of joining a private mess/tiffin service. As of now, the library is not up to the mark; it is not air conditioned, and the chairs are quite comfortable. But we have a good collection of books and Wi-Fi in the library. For sports, we have a field where football and cricket matches are played. We don't have a proper badminton court.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. They are highly qualified. Sometimes people from the All India Quota might face a language barrier when few teachers deliver their lectures in Bengal. We have 6 lecture theaters, out of which two have projectors. The question paper set for semester exams is standard and as per the CBME curriculum. It follows the university examination pattern, and to score good marks, you have to study each and every subject thoroughly throughout the year.
Other: The annual event of our college is called Plasma. We have a 4-day festival, and before that, an academic festival is also conducted, during which renowned doctors come to the college and conduct a seminar. During the festival, we have various bands and celebrity artists. There are various scholarships that the students can avail of, for example, the Swami Vivekananda scholarship and the Aikyashree scholarship. Students also get the benefit of private scholarships like FFE and ONGC.

Great college and medical practice is good at this college .
Placements: The highest average package is around 30 lacs, and the lowest average package is around 15 lacs, etc. And the top recruiting companies are Apollo, Care Hospital, etc. The percent of students placed in our course is around 80 percent. The top roles are surgeons and research scientists, etc.
Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure with a good clinical hospital for medical practice. The facilities provided by the college are classrooms, labs, and a library that are well stocked and useful to students. The multiple sports grounds are there, and the hostel facility is there.
Faculty: The college staff is very cooperative and friendly to students in their studies. The teachers are well qualified in studies and have high experience. The course curriculum is relevant, and the semester exams are tough to pass, and the pass percent is above 70%.

It’s a very nice college to attend.
Placements: About 60% students were placed in our course. There is no highest package record. It depends on your skills. Many of the Doctors are working at AIIMS. There are many top surgeons from this college. It provides the best facilities and top roles like cardiac surgeons.
Infrastructure: The college has good facilities. Every student should apply to this college. The hostel is very good and it provides a big room on a 4 students sharing basis. The canteen is also very good and nice. The food is good and tasty. There are so many games and sports which are played.
Faculty: All the teachers are helpful. The semester exams are good. MBBS is a huge and a vast course which takes time and patience. The students feel proud to be a part of this college. The teachers here are very knowledgeable and intelligent. The semesters exams are little bit tough.
Other: The campus is very nice. Since childhood, I’ve wanted to become a doctor.

Overall, it is a good college.
Placements: Almost 85% of students took the course. The starting salary for a staff nurse is about 40k and the highest is >80k. Both central government and state government staff are recruited. All students pursuing the course can apply for an internship at a government hospital. The top role is nursing superintendent.
Infrastructure: A proper classroom and skill lab are provided for students. A good library with a series of books is also available. Hostel food is average and considerably more money is charged per student. The college is in a residential setting. Students are not allowed to go out every day; they can only get out on weekends.
Faculty: Teachers are good in both practicals and theory but not so knowledgeable. It is a good course but we need some more quality curriculum in order to make students more skilled. Semester exams are relevant and the passing percentage is 50%. Students must pass the practical examination.
Other: Nursing is a novel profession with a better salary. We can provide all-around care to patients. Betterment in intellectual as well as extracurricular activities.
