Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.A. students at Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science?

    A:
    {Source: B.A. students & alumni}

    Placement Cell Success Rate

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's what we've found out:

    * No direct mention of companies: Unfortunately, there is no mention of specific companies that visit the campus for placements.
    * Internship opportunities: While internships were provided, it seems that these were mostly self-initiated or sourced outside of the college.
    * Limited information on placement success rate: There isn't enough data to determine the overall success rate of the placement cell in securing jobs for BA students.

In summary, while Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science offers various internship opportunities and resources, there is limited information available on the effectiveness of its placement cell in securing jobs for B.A. students specifically. Further research would be needed to gain a better understanding of the college's placement record.

It was a good 3 years there with a good crowd and best facilities. Good support from teachers.
Placements: Not really sure, but internships were offered continuously by faculty members. They used to share internship opportunities over a WhatsApp group, and anyone interested could apply. Attendance was also provided if the internship was done and two lectures were attended. Importance was given to students' onsite experience.
Infrastructure: It was great in all terms, with a great convention room, lab, library, sports group, and all facilities. It has a great ambience, AC rooms, and affordable canteen food. Huge large-scale events and great celebrity visits. Different committees for dance, marketing, and management were made.
Faculty: They take feedback for improvement and keep facilities accordingly. You can rate their teaching every semester. Your suggestions will be taken into consideration, and action will be taken in terms of syllabus, faculty members, and extra requirements.
Other: The events were a great attraction, and students interested in working on experience and media-related activities will get great exposure too.

A bundle of new opportunities and experiences!!!
Placements: The course I have taken in this college is BAMMC, which is mass media and communication. The strength of my class was 120, but the classrooms were divided into two, as we had sessions A and B in the third year because we had to choose our subjects between advertisement and event management. I was in the event management group. The highest package offered to us was eight lakhs per annum, and the lowest, based on internships, was 2 to 3 lakhs, depending on the companies, as some internships were unpaid. I don’t have the overall record of students getting internships in our college, but I can say that out of 130 students, many have been getting internships, to my knowledge.
Infrastructure: The campus is the best at Pillai Institution of Arts, Commerce, and Science. A great and hygienic canteen is provided for us. The washrooms are clean, the corridors, facilities, and auditorium are all top-notch. Students are also provided parking areas, which most colleges don’t have. The library offers a great and peaceful environment where we can read and study. Overall, the infrastructure of this college deserves an 11/10.
Faculty: I personally had a really great experience with my fellow teachers, as they guided me throughout the year. Whether it was for assignments or my doubts, everything was addressed. They helped me choose a career and provided counseling; everything about them was just perfect. Regarding examinations, the level of the papers has been set from medium to hard. Everyone says that autonomous college students don’t have to put in any effort to pass, but the answer is no. Each and every student has to eventually put in the effort to gain marks, whether in autonomous colleges or Mumbai University. Both have to balance and maintain the level of the students.
Other: Talking about the college, I would like to add that most students take admission here because of the perfect and active curriculum, which is great. It’s not like colleges are only meant for studies; extra-curricular activities are also needed. This is a must for students, and this college excels at balancing both extra-curricular activities and studies. They are doing a fantastic job. Many students from this college, due to extra-curricular activities, are working in various industries, excelling in sports, and achieving a lot in their lives.

Once upon a time in Pillais.
Placements: In my course, there was a significant portion of the student population, approximately 20-20 percent, due to the wide range of courses offered by Pillai. The top companies that recruited students from my course were primarily in the marketing, advertising agency, and content writing sectors. Various roles were offered, including photographer, content writer, copy lead, and journalist. The salary packages ranged from 5 Lacs p. a for the lowest offer received by one of my colleagues to about 10 Lacs p. a for the highest offer. It is estimated that around 30-40 percent of the students in my class secured internships.
Infrastructure: Pillai's college provided an exceptional experience. The campus was expansive and offered a wide range of amenities, including basketball and tennis courts, a cricket ground, a swimming pool, and more. The classrooms were equipped with Wi-Fi and digital screens for presentations. Additionally, the college boasted a large and vibrant library with books catering to all courses. The canteen served delicious food with a distinct South Indian influence, which was highly appreciated by everyone due to the college's predominantly South Indian student body.
Faculty: The instructors are exceptional and well-prepared to manage a classroom filled with enthusiastic individuals. It was impressive to witness their ability to uphold discipline and treat us with respect. They were highly knowledgeable and proficient individuals who instilled excitement for the curriculum. The course is meticulously crafted to assist students in achieving their aspirations. Although the semester exams were challenging, with proper studying, the course was enjoyable and manageable. The passing percentage for this course is 39%.
Other: Our batch stood out as everyone was highly motivated to achieve their goals and dedicated to putting in the necessary effort. I opted for B.M.M. with the specific aim of becoming a writer. The course is structured into interconnected sections, such as photography and photoshop. I believe this multi-sectional approach is essential for preparing students for the industry.

Review of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science.
Placements: Our college does not offer campus placements. It updates us about placements and internships. Around 65-80% of students got placed in our batch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. All labs and classrooms are well-facilitated. We have a lot of clubs.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good and supportive. They support us in all difficulties. The teaching quality is excellent. They teach us relevant things. They don't teach us unnecessary things. They are polite.
Other: It is one of the best colleges in Navi Mumbai. Our college conducts many events. It conducts an event named Alegria. The crowd is good. I chose this college because it provides good facilities.

Good campus, good infrastructure and lots of activities.
Placements: As for placement, I haven't heard any companies mentioned. As for the fees, I think everyone paid the same amount which I quite liked. Most of them got an internship, the College provides a Google form which you have to fill to get an internship from the college. Or you can get your internship aside from the college provided one also. They provide extra learning opportunities like for mass media students they provided a film making and advertising course in Paris.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good you can find anything you like in the college sports centre, gym, lab, creation centres, canteen etc. Except for the hostel, it is somewhere else. Although don't expect to use your mobile in the classroom as the signal in the classrooms is very weak.
Faculty: As Pillai college is an autonomous college, they always teach the latest trend/new subject in your course, they always keep their curriculum up to date. The teachers are also very knowledgeable in their field and are always willing to help out when asked.

    Really a great college.
Placements: Over 80% of our students received placements, their average package was about 2.2 Lacs per year, and the companies were TCS, Wipro, L&T, etc. From my programme around 90% students were placed in TCS, Wipro, etc. The top role we received was executive.
Infrastructure: The library during my course gave us unlimited access to it, there's no Wi-Fi but there are labs, the library is a peaceful place and our hostel's food is fantastic. The canteen has great food at low prices, also medical and games facilities are there.
Faculty: Before your exams, teachers give you some guidance and also some important questions. They do revision and take rough tests before your exams. Their teaching techniques help students get ready for the industry. Semester exams were difficult, but teachers helped you succeed.
Other: Teacher's are very helpful, you can even reach them until evening for any doubt. In our course, we were taught through visuals, showing everything related to the film camera in vertical format. If they focused more on practical knowledge, it would be a wonderful experience. This college is more known for it's fest called Alegria this fest is so amazing lots of stars, singer, invited hereto perform it's amazing every year this celebrate.
