Is B.E./B.Tech at Quest Group of Institutions Worth the Investment?

Here's what current students and alumni have to say:

    Pros:

    * Affordable tuition fees: Compared to other colleges, Quest Group of Institutions offers a relatively low tuition fee, making it an attractive option for many students.
    * Scholarships available: Students can avail scholarships based on their caste (ST/SC) or academic performance, reducing the financial burden.
    * Good infrastructure: While the infrastructure may not be state-of-the-art, it is generally considered good and functional.
    * Helpful faculty: Faculty members are known for being supportive and cooperative, providing guidance and mentorship to students.
    * Industry connections: The college has ties with top companies like Wipro and IBM, offering students internship and job opportunities.

    Cons:

    * Limited practical exposure: Some students felt that there could be more hands-on experience and site visits during the program.
    * Infrequent events: The college hosts limited events and festivals throughout the year, leaving students with few opportunities to relax and socialize.
    * Basic amenities: The hostel and mess facilities are average, and medical facilities are reported to be subpar.
    * Lack of research opportunities: The college does not have a dedicated research lab, limiting students' opportunities to engage in research projects.

    Conclusion:
While Quest Group of Institutions has its strengths, such as affordable fees, scholarships, and a supportive faculty, it also faces limitations, like limited practical exposure and infrequent events. For students looking for a good balance between academics and extracurricular activities, Quest might be a suitable choice. However, those seeking cutting-edge research opportunities or luxurious amenities might want to explore alternative options. Ultimately, whether the investment is worthwhile depends on individual priorities and goals.

The campus has a multicultural environment with students coming from many states and countries.
Placements: The structure of the B.Tech CSE course is good, including theory and practicals. The highest salary package offered in our course is 5 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Wipro and IBM. About 60% of the total students got an internship in companies like Wipro and IBM.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is pretty basic, but it is overall good or average. Facilities like computer labs, library, and some other labs are available here, and Wi-Fi is available on the whole campus. The classrooms are pretty decent. The hostel is average, but the rooms are not that good. The quality of food is basic and average. Medical facilities are very poor, and the sports and games facilities are average.
Faculty: Faculty members are qualified, helpful, and excellent. All teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable, and teaching quality is one of the reasons I joined this college. The course curriculum is relevant, and it helps students to get ready for the outer world and industry-ready.
Other: Our batchmates are all kind, and we have a lot of fun with both studies and curricular activities. I have chosen this course because my family makes civil contracts, and I was familiar with civil work. I love building roads and buildings, and another main reason is since I am from North East India. A lot of students are from North East India. I was scared when I first came to this college, but luckily the college is ragging-free. The college infrastructure is good, and I have no complaints regarding it. I just wish we had more practical courses, and they should take us to sites where there is ongoing construction. In a year, it only organises sports and an annual fest. I wish it should conduct more fests. Scholarships are available. If you are from ST and SC community or had a good percentage in your 12%, then you will get a scholarship from college or government. The tuition fee is very affordable compared to other colleges.

I am satisfied with this college.
Placements: I do not really know how many students from our batch got placement. A maximum of the students gets good grades. The college has a good environment for studying. Teachers never compromise with our studies. Almost every student got an internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is average. Our college provides everything we need like a laboratory, computer lab, Wi-Fi and canteen. The hostel is comfortable too, with no electricity cutout with a cooler in every single room. Air-conditioned rooms are also available in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are kind and very helpful. They conduct a lot of study tours, which are very helpful for students. The exam papers come from PTU. Exams are usually very strict, and there is no chance of cheating in examinations. The pass percentage is good.
Other: Our batchmates are all kind, and we have a lot of fun with both studies and curricular activities. I have chosen this course because my family makes civil contracts, and I was familiar with civil works. The college is value for money, and I recommend it. I am a bit dissatisfied with facilities.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2013

Mechanical engineering is the best course for the overall development of students.
Placements: Quest had helped me to get a job immediately after completion of my course in mechanical engineering. Many industries visited the campus, and the interviews were arranged in the industry as well. Approximately 70% of the students got placed in industries, and 10% were given assistance for higher education. Even now, if I need any help in my job, I get assistance from the faculty members.
Infrastructure: All the labs were well-equipped with the instruments. Classrooms have projectors. The campus and hostel are Wi-Fi enabled. Medical assistance is available 24 hours, and a doctor visits the campus every day. The library has a maximum number of books. A digital library is also available. The canteen is clean and well maintained. Food served suites everyone's needs.
Faculty: Teachers are very cooperative and helpful. I feel it like a home away from home. All faculty members are qualified and experienced. Teaching is done in a very systematic manner and with the use of various aids. Topics are explained using Google classroom and projectors. Every month, an expert comes to the campus to deliver a lecture on various topics. Industrial visits are also arranged.
Other: The campus has a multicultural environment with students coming from many states and countries. The campus is lush green. Connectivity is easy from Chandigarh and Mohali through bus and trains. Various scholarships are provided to the students.

My experience at this college is satisfactory. Faculty members are good here.
Placements: The college frequently conducts industrial visits. But as far as the placements are concerned, there are no placement opportunities for mechanical and civil branches. They conduct job fairs frequently, and students from all the colleges participate in those job fairs. The highest salary package offered was 5 LPA, and around 3 students get placed with that salary package.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. The campus is small when compared to other colleges. The labs do not have proper machines, but the electricity facility is available for 24 hours. There is a lack of raw materials in the workshop. The college doesn't have any research lab. There are well-maintained computer labs.
Faculty: Our faculty are very helpful and nice. The best part about this college is the scholarships. I had completed my graduation with a fee of just 1.2 lakhs. Our faculty members were very supportive. However, they are not strict regarding attendance, so students always bunk their classes.
Other: Ragging is strictly prohibited here, and the campus environment is peaceful.

    Infra 3/5, Faculty 4/5, Activities 2/5.
Placements: Don't expect MNC's like Infosys etc. To show up in the campus. Local companies such as LuminoGuru, Sachtech solutions, TechnoWiz etc. Do pay a visit but their max intake is 2-3 employees. In 2018 placement drive, around 8companies visited the campus and 3students made it to the PI round.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available (though in the college premises as well as the hostel. Canteen - ask for Pasta, maggi, sandwich, shakes etc. Just enough to keep you going through the college hours. Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis and football for your pass time. The library has common text books, novels (not many). Mostly deserted! There's no 'health Bay' or medical facilities. The classrooms are quite ventilated, only source of cooling - fans. Classrooms are equipped with projectors (rarely used). Hostel rooms - 3people per room. Rooms are equipped with desert coolers.
Faculty: The faculty consists of mainly post graduates. With the experience ranging from freshers to 30years. 98% of the faculty are locals. Helpfulness varies from person to person, however I found the teachers of my department very helpful and supportive. Brief knowledge about the subject. But the system demands each teacher to teach a different subject every semester. Quality 3/5. Industry exposure 2/5. Visits to some companies once in a semester.
Other: There's only one main fest - Annual Day. Some Punjab singers would be called on campus but that got cancelled later (no such event since 2014). There's very less stress on extracurricular activities! (sad) Due to the instructions passed by the new Director, very less students can be found outside classrooms. Scholarships available : MOMA, AICTE Activities include - sports day (once in a year), industrial visits.
