    * Intermittent internet connectivity issues.
    * Some faculty members' lack of engagement and unhelpfulness.
    * Limited scholarship opportunities.

    Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.Sc. courses at Ramjas College?

    A:

    Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Sc Courses at Ramjas College

    Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Sc courses at Ramjas College:

    * Limited Job Opportunities: Many students reported that the placement cell didn't offer many job opportunities, and hardly any companies visited the college to recruit students.
    * Marketing Roles and Sales Departments: The companies that did visit the college mostly offered marketing roles and sales departments, which may not align with the skills and interests of all B.Sc students.
    * Salary Packages: While some companies offered decent salary packages, ranging from INR3 LPA to INR10 LPA, others offered lower packages, and a few students mentioned that placements weren't guaranteed.
    * Internship Opportunities: The placement cell does provide internship opportunities, although it seems that these are mainly focused on the industrial sector, and students need to actively seek these out.

    Overall, while the placement cell at Ramjas College appears to be somewhat active, it seems that the availability and quality of job opportunities for B.Sc students are limited. It's essential for students to explore alternative paths, such as further education or entrepreneurial ventures, to achieve their career goals.

    Here's a breakdown of the key points in bullet points:

    * Limited job opportunities
    * Mostly marketing roles and sales departments
    * Salary packages range from INR3 LPA to INR10 LPA
    * Internship opportunities available, mainly in the industrial sector

    Note that the effectiveness of the placement cell may vary depending on individual experiences and department-specific circumstances.

    Faculty is helpful, the university and college provides exposure, but placements are not that good.
    Placements: I am from the 2023 batch of Zoology, and I'll be passing out in 2026. The number of students I've seen placed till now is average, but that's for the commerce courses students like B.Com (Hons) economics, etc. For this course you get a placement after completing all 4 years in B.Sc. Hons Zoology from the college, and that placement is very average too. Like you can earn from 30k-40k per month while doing research. The internships you do are mostly independent; at most, teachers inform you about certain internships, and then you'll have to see the rest. Top roles you can obtain from this are mostly from the research field; most of the students opt for higher education, where you could get more exposure, knowledge, and skills.
    Infrastructure: Compared to the other Delhi University colleges, the campus is pretty decent. Hostel facilities are mostly for the students whose hometowns are quite far from Delhi. The hostel has good Wi-Fi, a mess, and a gaming area. The library is two floors and has a variety of gyms available where students work out according to the hours assigned for male and female. The canteen is pretty good, and you get quality food under budget.
    Faculty: The teachers I would say from my department, Zoology, are very helpful, be it them guiding through academics, societies, and many more activities. Semester exams are not that difficult; you can score well if you start studying 1 month before their commencement, so you also get ample time for preparing for other entrance exams too.
    Other: Since it belongs to the hub of festivals, Delhi University, Ramjas College, that too in the North Campus, provides decent exposure, and by the arrival of the festive season, you're booked for the coming festivals and events. Like we had Ramjasotsav last year and also the annual fest named Mosaic, we had Nikita Gandhi perform for the second, and being in the center, you also can attend festivals in other North Campus colleges like Hindu, Khalsa, etc. Connectivity is very good.

    Review of Ramjas College, University of Delhi through my eyes.
    Placements: Physics hons students do not get any placements. Apart from that, our college provides internship opportunities in various prestigious research institutes. For example, one of my senior friends secured an internship at DRDO which is like a dream for science enthusiasts.
    Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our college is good. Classrooms are spacious but there is a huge problem with internet connectivity on college campus. It is nearly impossible to make and attend calls. Library is quite good. The food quality of food in the college canteen is very poor. We avoid eating at canteen. For sports, we have a big ground with a basketball court and also a gym complex as well.
    Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They are always ready to solve any query. They are also highly qualified with most of them having their higher education from IITs and other renowned research institutes. Our college has probably the largest physics faculty members in whole DU campus. The curriculum is focused on giving practical knowledge of subjects to students rather than just making them cream the books just for the sake of grades. The exams are easy to moderately difficult. If we are consistent in class then exams would be easy.
    Other: I chose this course because of my interest in physics. I want to have my career in research in physics subject so I kept this college as my top priority. It is because of experienced and highly qualified physics faculty members who would provide excellent guidance. Three courses can be improved if the lab equipment is replaced or repaired because the condition of the lab instruments is not good. The college is well connected to roads as well as it is just 1km away from the metro station.

    In short, college is nice. The crowd is nice. If you want placements, then course is not worthy.
    Placements: Placements in this particular course are not up to mark and in order to get placement, either you have to do a Masters or appear for placements on your own. No prominent companies come for placements. If I were to show the percentage of students getting placement, it would be 10%.
    Infrastructure: Infrastructure is well maintained; classes don't have AC but conditioning is good; labs are in good condition, not perfect condition; and staff is really supportive and helpful. Hostels are available for both girls and boys and they have proper security and water facilities. Hostels are provided on the basis of the merits of students.
    Faculty: The faculty is good and the curriculum is mainly based on PCM class twelve. Exams are not that difficult if you study for at least one month. Teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable, and the quality of their teaching is good. Semester exams are easy at a level of 12th grade PCM, not that difficult.
    Other: In order to appear for government exams, I chose this course. There are many areas for improvement. Cultural and annual events were nicely organized last year.

    I tell everyone everything with my own experience.
    Placements: There is 90 percent of students who got placement in our college, but in my course, students did not want placement. They go for higher studies or start preparing for government exams . The highest package in our college is 19.65 lakh per annum, and the average package is 6.25 lakh per annum. The top recurring companies are Walmart, Mother Dairy, Wipro, and Deloitte. I don't have knowledge about internships by companies. In my course, you have the option to do post-graduation in any of the subjects from physics, chemistry, and maths .
    Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good . Big buildings in our college have 5 floors. But there is no ac in the classrooms. There is a hostel available in our college, but seats are limited. Our canteen is very small, but the food quality is good . Our college has a library that is fully air-conditioned . In our college, sports facilities are very good . Our college has basketball, volleyball, badminton courts, and a football ground.
    Faculty: Most of the teachers are very helpful, friendly, and well qualified . Yes, our course is very relevant. You have the chance of post-graduation in any subject out of physics, chemistry, and maths . In our course, there are also other subjects like VAC and SEC for personality development.
    Other: I chose this course because there is less burden in my course . And I have to study all three core subjects - physics, chemistry, maths so I can do post-graduation in any one of these subjects. For improvement of the course, remove the one subject from the vac and sec. There is a cultural fest in our college called Mosaic . And many society fests are also held in our college. There is a scholarship provided to all students through NSP .

    Ramjas: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!
    Placements: Most students in my course prefer to pursue higher studies after graduation. As a result, there are almost no placements for this particular course. However, students often secure admission to top institutions both in India and abroad for their higher studies. On the other hand, students from other courses have better placement opportunities with an average package of 9 LPA.
    Infrastructure: Certain facilities like the computer lab, library, and sports complex are well-maintained. However, the academic block is largely neglected and requires attention. Many classrooms lack fans and have broken desks. Overall, the infrastructure is decent but needs consistent maintenance and improvements.
    Faculty: The faculty members are highly motivated individuals who are experts in their respective fields. Their teaching methods ensure that most students grasp the concepts being taught. However, the course curriculum is outdated. While it provides ample knowledge, it lacks content on industrial applications and relevance to current industry standards.
    Other: I chose this course as I am interested in entering the research field. I would like the syllabus to be updated, as much of it is currently outdated. The college fest, Mosaic, is held in April, and many events take place in March and April to engage students.

    Overall, a mixed experience. Campus is good. Crowd is fine. But, not all facilities are good.
    Placements: Very few students are placed. There are no placements in my course and no companies come for my course. There are no good internships. It's hard to get scholarships. The college schedule is not working towards that. Very few people join internships, and there are no placements after graduation.
    Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good but there's no hostel facility. That's a big problem for students, as 80% of them come from various states. They have to pay a large amount of money in PGs and for food as well. It's really expensive for students to live near campus.
    Faculty: Very few teachers are helpful. As per my experience, I came from north-east India. I faced many problems in college while learning things but the teachers were not helpful. Most of them were rude. So I lost interest in studying, and most students face that.
    Other: The college fee is good for me. It's affordable and the crowd is also fine for me.
