    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Courses at RV College of Engineering

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the effectiveness of the placement cell:

    * High placement rates: Over 85% of students from the engineering department got placed in various companies, with packages ranging from 3.5 LPA to 14 LPA.
    * Good relations with industries: The college has built strong relationships with major companies like Microsoft, BCG, McKinsey, and IBM, among others, which ensures frequent company visits and recruitment drives.
    * Placement training: The college offers rigorous placement training programs, helping students develop skills and prepare for interviews.
    * Diverse job opportunities: While majority of the placements are in software companies, there are opportunities in core sectors like electrical and mechanical engineering as well.
    * Internship opportunities: About 30% of students from the CSE and ECE departments get internship opportunities during their third year.

    Absolutely dissatisfied because of infrastructure.
Placements: 70% of students were placed in our course. I'm from civil engineering, and we don't know about the package for civil. We don't know about top recruiting companies. We are 1st-semester students and don't have an idea about internships in which companies. Sorry for this.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good, and the infrastructure is average as we thought before. Classrooms, labs, and the library are good. Wi-Fi is slow. In the hostel, facilities are good, and food is also good, but in the morning, it's very bad. We don't know why it is like this. We play all sports and games on the same ground, including cricket, kabaddi, football, volleyball, kho-kho, hockey, throwball, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good, as we thought. They explain concepts easily and understandably. Semester exams are a little difficult because the semester-end exams contain five chapters, which makes it hard to study seven subjects. But our college faculty members are ready to explain our doubts.
Other: Because I am interested in construction, and nowadays, software is common.

    RVCE, Go change the World.
Placements: It is one of the topmost colleges in Karnataka. It has very good infrastructure and good placements. This year, the highest package is 92 LPA. It has very good teaching faculty and well-experienced professors and labs. By the completion of the 4-year course, we would definitely get a job.
Infrastructure: I am in the Millennial Hostel of RV College of Engineering. They provide very good food, and it has very good infrastructure. They maintain very good health. But one drawback is that they do not provide non-veg food. We have it from outside, but the food is fine, and I liked it.
Faculty: Yes, teaching is very good, with qualified and knowledgeable staff. It has very good teaching staff, highly experienced professors, and very good labs. They conduct three tests and take an average of them, and finally, they will conduct a semester-end examination for 100 marks.

Review of RVCE College of Engineering.
Placements: About 40% of students were placed in the course. The average package was around INR 20 LPA. Recruiting companies included Bosch, Intel, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, BookMyShow, and other big tech companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good and everything is kept clean and ready for use. The mess is okay, not the best, but meets expectations. The canteen is phenomenal, with great food, although it's expensive. It’s a big canteen with a nice outdoor tree area for sitting.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and ready to assist. Some are even great and encouraging. The curriculum has been revised many times, so it's up-to-date. The difficulty level is moderate, and you need 84% attendance to write exams for any subject.

Honest Review of RV College of Engineering.
Placements: Around 30-40% of students were placed in my college in my course. 16 LPA is the highest, 4 LPA is the lowest, and 7 LPA is the average package offered in my course. Satva, Shobha, L&T, JSW, etc., are the top recruiting companies. Around 60-70% of students get internships in the above-mentioned companies. A structural designer is the top role offered.
Infrastructure: The department's infrastructure is good. The college has a private Wi-Fi facility; they provide a username and password for Wi-Fi for security purposes. The Civil department has four CAED labs with sufficient systems, one SOM lab, one Geo Technology lab, one Highway lab, one Concrete Technology lab, and some separate rooms for survey equipment. The quality of food is average; morning snacks are good, but lunch and dinner are average. Three canteens are there in the college, and the college also has medical facilities. The college supports sports and games but does not have a proper ground. All vehicles are parked on the ground.
Faculty: All faculty members are M.Tech graduates and have sufficient knowledge. All are supportive. Yes, this course makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are very hard and strict. If they catch you cheating, they call a parent-teacher meeting and fail the student in that subject.
Other: I chose this course because it is evergreen and offers a lot of opportunities in government jobs. It is better to focus on field learning rather than sitting in a room and assuming. There is one big event every year and many minor events in a year. For example, 8th Mile and E-Summit are the fests. The college has a lot of crowds, as RVCE, RVU, and RVCEM are present on the same campus.

Overall experience of RV College of Engineering .
Placements: Placements are very good in my college. Every year, almost 90 percent of students get placed. The highest package received by my senior is 92 LPA, and the average package is about 18 LPA. The lowest is 4 LPA. Companies like PhonePe, Google, Microsoft, Mercedes-Benz etc. Are the top recruits of my college. New companies also offer very good packages.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good in my college. Labs and classrooms lack new technology devices and new PCs. Recently, they opened a very good new library with lots of facilities and new technologies, but the old library lacks the new and the number of computers and infrastructure and charging sockets for laptops.
Faculty: Some teachers are good and some are literally bad in my college, but they have egos. Coming to the academics courses in the first year and some courses in the second are useless only for marks. Semester exams are comparatively easier than the CIEs; these are the difficult ones. The curriculum is too good in my college; there are lots of clubs and lots of opportunities as well.
Other: Campus surroundings are among the worst, highly polluted places, and extra-curricular activities are too good. Events are regularly arranged, and fests are arranged a little bit rarely. Connectivity is a very good thing in my college.

    Certainly satisfied; good curriculum.
Placements: For industrial engineering, the placement percentage varies between 60 and 85%. The highest placement is around 18 lacs, the lowest is 6 lacs, and the average is around 11 lacs. Cisco, Flipkart, Airbus, and HPE are some of the top recruiting companies. The top roles offered in the branch are analyst, graduate engineer trainee, and supply chain engineer.
Infrastructure: The facilities in the department are decent, with separate labs for various courses. The department is well-equipped with facilities like Wi-Fi, a library, computer labs, and projector-enabled classrooms. Campus infrastructure is not up to par and needs a major overhaul.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly and qualified. The teaching quality is decent, and the course material provided is updated periodically in order to maintain relevance to industry standards. In semester exams, difficulty ranges from low to medium for most of the subjects.
Other: I chose this course due to its culmination of engineering and management principles and the wide variety of job roles it provides.

Worthiness of BE/BTech Investment at RV College of Engineering

Based on the reviews from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

    Pros:

    * Good Placement Opportunities: Many students reported that nearly 70-80% of the batch gets placed, with top companies like NVIDIA, Qualcomm, and Intel offering attractive packages (average package ranging from INR12-14 LPA).
    * Excellent Faculty: Teachers are described as highly qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable, providing guidance throughout the course.
    * Industry-Oriented Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant and focused on practical knowledge, preparing students for the industry.
    * State-of-the-art Infrastructure: The college has modern facilities, including Wi-Fi enabled classrooms, libraries, and labs.

    Cons:

    * Average Hostel Facilities: While the hostel rooms are good, the Wi-Fi connection is poor, and the food is average.
    * Limited Extracurricular Activities: Festivals and events are limited, but the college has a reputation for organizing big events.
    * Construction Issues: Ongoing construction work causes inconvenience, especially affecting Wi-Fi connectivity.

    Value-for-Money:
While some reviewers mentioned that the college might not offer exceptional value for money, considering the fees structure, others felt that the education and exposure received justified the cost.

Conclusion: Based on the feedback, RV College of Engineering seems to offer a good blend of academic excellence, placement opportunities, and industry exposure, making it a worthwhile investment for those seeking a strong foundation in engineering. However, some areas for improvement include enhancing hostel facilities and minimizing construction disruptions. Ultimately, the decision to invest in the college rests upon individual priorities and preferences.
