Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty, placements and the curriculum

Placements: Placements are not all good at UPES. The college itself puts barriers for the students when it comes to placements. Sometimes, even the deserving ones go empty-handed. Even a couple of companies have blacklisted the college. The college claims that it has 90% placement rate but this is not true. The placement figures are doctored. Salaries range from as low as 3 LPA to 13-14 LPA. Often students of engineering branches like petroleum engineering, power systems engineering, mechanical engineering,...

UPES - A Niche for Oil and Gas Studies

Placements: We had a 91% of placement in 2016. For my course, B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering with Specialization in Refining & Petrochemicals, the highest salary offered was 9 Lacs p.a and the average was about 4 Lacs p.a. There were companies like Technip, Reliance Industries, Thyssenkrupp, Phillips Carbon Black Limited, Emami Agrotech, Gold Plus Glass Industries, L&T Infotech, IBM, Accenture, etc.

The college is good enough if you want study and work hard but it can be nightmare if not serious.

Placements: The placements for automotive design engineering are generally good. Almost all the students are placed in core companies. But due to demonetization, last year, we saw some decline in the placements. But still, more than half of the class was placed. The placement included roles in R&D, production, marketing and even sales.

UPES-A place to go, learn and grow.

Placements: The placements were average as most of us got motivated towards the higher studies. So, there were only a few persons interested in the placements. And those students got placed in good companies like Dell, Sara Sara, Bajaj Sons, GPP, etc. with good packages.

Overall, a good upcoming college with average placements.

Placements: Placements were decent in terms of the average package. The number of companies that came for computer science was more in comparison to other streams. While the normal package varied around 3 lakhs per annum, some companies offered higher CTC as well such as Halliburton, Shell, etc. which came to the campus for specific roles and specific streams. Higher packages generally go for streams like APE upstream, downstream, and chemical.

Not satisfied due to fees and poor outcome

Placements: The placements are just okay as compared to the fee. I would recommend other colleges until it is the last option. Placements for APE, ADE, and CCVT branches are good though. Specialised courses would be recommended (branches like ADE, APE, CS branches, aerospace engineering, etc).

You will come out with an enhanced personality but with no surety of getting a job.

Placements: Placements were quite fine. Many of the good companies like Maruti0Suzuki, Hyundai, L&T, FANUC, APAR Industries, KPIT, IBM and some more either visited the campus or called students at their venue for placements. But you are never assured in the end whether will you be placed or not. Frankly, placements are good but not as good as they were before 3-4 years. The highest package offered to us was 6 LPA by Maruti-Suzuki and Hyundai, while the rest of the companies came up with a package of around ...

Not worth the money, strict rules, undeveloped location. Hard work is the only key to success here.

Placements: The placement varies every year according to the market of oil and gas industry. My super senior batch(2014-18) is going through placements. They are 40 students batch out of which 25+ have been placed, but the placement in core sector, I.e, oil and gas domain is bit low. Around 10 students are working in pure core sector of the oil industry. The highest package includes PPO of 2 students from Schlumberger company which is still disclosed. One student got a package of 20 LPA. The average package...

A brief review: good environment, nice crowd, average teaching and learning experience, backlogs etc

Placements: Computer science placements- 100%. The next in order are: 1- upsteam 2- gas 3- automotive design 4- chemical Automotive design engineering has seen only a few companies visit the campus. Companies which visited were Maruti-Suzuki, Mahindra, Hyundai (last year), Royal Enfield (last year). 5-10 students got placed in every company.

The placements in my batch were reduced by almost 20%.

Placements: Placement of my batch was low, approximately 50%-60%. The highest salary offered was 6.5LPA and the lowest was 3LPA. Companies which visited were Hyundai, Maruti, Tata Technologies, Mahindra and Mahindra, KPIT, Hi-Tech Robotics, TCI, etc. Roles offered were GET or sales profile. Almost 90% students were offered internship from the college. Stipend offered was on an average of Rs. 5000 per month.

Think before taking admission.

Placements: Placements are really poor these days. With oil recession going on around the world, petroleum engineering is not a good option. You cannot expect a campus placement in core companies until and unless you are extraordinary. UPES doesn't provide placement. Also, the intake has increased dramatically because of which students who deserve admission in worst branches are taking admission in the best branch. Hope the recession might end in some years.Till then UPES is not a great option. You can als...

Not the best place to pursue electrical engineering.

Placements: The placements for our senior batches were decent but not up to the mark. Major recruiting companies were IT companies namely- TCS, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, Wipro and Infosys. These companies offered an average package of 4 LPA. Other domain related companies were Bosch, Secure Meters. Since in our batch the number of students has increased drastically, a lot is expected from our placement cell. The department helps a lot of students in seeking internships through personal contacts of the facul...

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies review.

Placements: 90 to 95% of our seniors got placed. The placement is very good since almost every student for applied petroleum engineering gets placed. The package offered by the companies depend on the market conditions since petroleum market conditions are really volatile. When the market conditions are good, numerous core companies come for the placement process and they provide an average package between 6-8 lakhs. When the market is down, a few core companies come and the average package drops to 4-5 lak...

UPES makes the student a real engineer in arms of nature, greenery and a positive environment.

Placements: My batch is the 2nd batch of this course and the placements of our seniors were not so good but this year the placement is good. Around 70% of the students from our batch got placed. The highest offered package is 7 lacs p.a. and the lowest is 2.8 lacs p.a. Many companies visited our campus, few of them are Pidilite, Ghaziabad Precision Products, Aimil, Byjus, SRB International Pvt. Ltd., Bansal Wires Industries Ltd., Procmart etc. But most of them hired for sales and marketing except Bansal Wir...

UPES is good but not worth the fees.

Placements: Placements are good but depend on branch to branch. In many branches, placements are for namesake as most of the students go to IT companies. Also, they have started taking more and more students so the quality and no of placements are decreasing exponentially. The placement department though makes efforts to get maximum placed but it solely depends on the individual how active he/she is and how he/she can prove they are better for everyone.

Placements: Placements are currently in session and out of the 38 students of our batch, 22 are placed. The companies that have visited our campus for placements or called for interviews so far are: Philips Carbon Black Limited, Sparrow Risk Management, ByJus, Cognizant, Pidilite, Adani Gas Ltd., Reliance Industries Limited, Reliance Petrochemical, Global Data, Wipro Tech and still counting. The average salary offered is Rs. 4.58 LPA.

Completely satisfied with the college.

Placements: The placements are average. It depends on how you study. The average packages are around 3-4 lacs per annum and if you do good in your academics and improve your knowledge in technical, then you can get a 6-7 lacs package. One of my seniors got a package of 7.2 lacs in Maruti and other seniors too got high packages.

Placements this year are better than the last. Great environment and infrastructure to learn.

Placements: Looking at the status of my seniors' batch, I can say the placements are good. Around 80-90 % students are already placed in either core companies or the IT companies. Companies that have visited till now: Weatherford, Shell, L&T Hydrocarbon, Mahindra Tech, Infosys and Tieto. Office and field jobs have both been offered. Highest package: around 30 lakh per annum by Weatherford. Lowest package: 2.5 lakh by Infosys. The college gets all the students internships in the 6th sem (in ONGC mostly) but...

Placements: I am in the second batch so till now, no placement graph is available. In the next year, our first batch will be placed. In our related branch power systems engineering, the placement this year is not so good. Approximately 50-60% students were placed till this month and more companies are coming, so I wish that the remaining will be placed.
