Commonly asked questions
On JEE Main Cutoffs

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - Batch of 2028

Really decent placements.
Placements: Placements in our college are always much better than other colleges. The average package is around 8 LPA. For tech branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT, the average package goes near to 13-14 LPA, and the highest CTC for the batch of 2024 was 50.7 LPA from the IT branch.
Infrastructure: The course of every branch is in accordance with NEP 2020. Our syllabus gets modified from time to time as per the requirements. Almost all the labs are available in college with proper instruments. Hostel facilities are average in college; it's not like NITs and IITs.
Faculty: In terms of faculty members, most of our teachers are Ph.D. qualified; some of them are from IITs. Faculty members are well-qualified here, but they don't teach at their peak potential, so you have to manage many things on your own. Semester exams are also tough enough. A minimum of 5 SGPA is required to be promoted to the next semester.

Satisfied because of its good placements but not satisfied with faculty members' unfairness.
Placements: In this college, almost all students are placed who are not getting back in any semester. The highest salary package offered is 40 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. The average salary package offered is 12 LPA. In this college, three companies mainly come for internships like Goldman Sachs, MasterCard, and Dutch Bank. But this year only Goldman Sachs visits and recruits 5 students.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is good and department has its own labs and smart projector for classes. But department classes are old. Hostel mess is very bad. The food is tasteless and in hostel LAN is not working. In hostel, complain system is very bad. College gives opportunity for sports.
Faculty: Faculty members of computer science department are strict about projects and other work. They have good knowledge of subject. Some junior faculty members do partiality between boys and girls. They are biased towards boys. Curriculum is relevant to industry needs and students are ready for industry. Semester exams are difficult but all things are studied in class.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - Batch of 2027

3Placements2Infrastructure3Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
This college has good placements, faculty, alumni network and connectivity.
Placements: Around 65% of the students get placed from electronics and telecommunications while the others prepare for competitive exams like GATE, CAT, etc. The highest package offered was 37 LPA and the lowest was 3.5 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS, Cognizant and Deloitte.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very old and poor, most of the equipments are not working. The Library is quite good. The hostel it is just okay. There is poor wifi but the canteen is good. Sports and games are very poor as there is only one playground which too is very small.
Faculty: Mostly the old professors are really knowledgeable, their teaching sense is extraordinary. But then the new faculty members are not that good, you'll need youtube to study. The curriculum is up to date as the college is autonomous. Semester exams are tough but you can score decent by solving previous year papers and reading class notes. Passing percentage varies from subject to subject and depends on the faculty too. There is extremely strict checking done for some of the subjects, even then the passing percentage is 90%.
Other: Fees is very less for the placements offered, so it's definitely value for money. I chose EnTc because it opens two paths for me, I could go for software and also for the core. I think the labs are to be taken care of by the college. There are very less events in the college. The management is very strict and orthodox. Many of the events are not permitted after 7 pm. During fest, boys and girls are not allowed to sit together. Connectivity is the best part as the college is in the middle of the city, the railway station is extremely close being within 1 km radius and the airport is at a distance of 14 km. If you belong to the SC/ST category, you will get a scholarship. Also, if you are an MP domicile, you can get MMVY scholarship. Again, there’s not much extracurricular activity happening. The teachers don't support at all. So if you want a good college life, it's really difficult here but you can make it good by yourself, can't rely on the college.

SGSITS - A renowned educational brand for B. Tech.
Placements: Our college TPO is highly efficient and ensures excellent placement opportunities, achieving nearly 100% placement rates. Students with a CGPA above the specified cutoff are eligible, enabling a bright future through well-structured placement drives and industry tie-ups.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our college is impressive, especially in the new buildings, which are regularly maintained. However, classrooms feel a bit congested. As a day scholar, I am not familiar with hostel facilities. But there are good PG options nearby.
Faculty: Faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive. However, senior faculty members often use technical terminology, which can sometimes be challenging to grasp. Exams and answers script evaluation in our department are quite strict, with marks deducted even for minor errors.

SGSITS has a decent infrastructure.
Placements: Placements provided in my college are decent. However, placements of the mechanical course are not as good as placements of CSE and IT branches. Recently from our senior batch, about 40-45% of the students got placed on campus. This year good companies like MasterCard also visited our college.
Infrastructure: Our college has quite a decent infrastructure. It has a good library which can accommodate a good number of students. It has various books and each book has at least 9 to 10 copies. There is a separate section for the students from the other categories. Wi-Fi is enabled throughout the campus. Our college provides sports facilities like a badminton court, a volleyball court, and a football ground.
Faculty: Teachers in the college are highly qualified. All the teachers are PhD holders or either pursuing a PhD. We have been taught the subjects that are most compatible with the outside world and relevant to day-to-day skills. Various workshops are also organised in our college to help us to cope with the skills which are required in the industries. Exams are quite difficult, and students have to prepare hard to pass the exams.
Other: My course is mechanical engineering. I chose this course because it is the best course that I could get in the college at my rank. The majority of the faculty members in the mechanical branch are PhD holders and have good experience in teaching. They are always available outside of the college to help us out other than studies. There is one fest that happens in our college every year named Aayam that comprises for two days in which all the activities are conducted. Events and various social activities are held here. Scholarships are also provided depending on students' eligibility.

Poor infrastructure but good in acedamics.
Placements: I am in civil engineering branch although I am in first year so I don't know much about the placements but i have talked to few seniors and they said that placements of core branches are not that good, like they are pretty average. Placements ratio is decent though, you can easily get placed if you are an average student.
Infrastructure: The buildings of civil and mechanical department are very old and haven't renovated till now. Civil and mechanical engineering are the most old branches of SGSITS college of Indore. The hostels are also not that good. The food is good though, but there isn't any wifi, cleaning, attached bathroom facilities.
Faculty: The only thing good in this college is it's academics. It's pretty strict on that. The teachers are knowledgeable and helpful bit at the end of the day you have to study by yourself only just like every other college. As a fresher I haven't given any of the exams but they say it's not easy to pass just like that.

Q:   How are Shri GS Institute of Technology & Science Indore 2023 cut off marks determined?

A:

The following criteria will be used to establish the cut-off marks for Shri G. S. Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) Indore in 2023:

Number of applications: For branches with a large number of candidates, the cut-off marks will be higher.
Seats available: For branches with fewer seats available, the cut-off points will also be higher.
JEE Main scores: SGSITS takes JEE Main results into account while deciding who gets into its engineering programs. The top applicants' JEE Main results will be used to establish the cut-off marks for each branch.
The cut-off scores for other student groups, including general, OBC, SC, and ST, will also differ.

In addition to the aforementioned elements, SGSITS may also take into account the candidate's success on other admission tests, grades from the Class 12th board exam, and extracurricular activities.

The following advice can help you improve your chances of being admitted to SGSITS Indore:

Obtain a high JEE Main exam score. satisfy the requirements for the particular branch in which you are interested.

Q:   Can I get into Shri GS Institute of Technology & Science Indore with 70%?

A:

It depends on a few factors whether or not you can get into Shri GS Institute of Technology & Science (SGSITS) Indore with 70% marks. It's difficult to get admitted with 70% if you're from the general category because the cutoffs are typically higher, frequently above 75%. However, you might have a better chance with 70% marks if you fall under a protected group like SC, ST, or OBC. Typically, reserved categories have lower cutoffs than general categories. Attempting to enter through the state quota is another option. Students from the state where the college is located are given priority for some seats. The cutoffs for state quotas are typically lower than the all-India quota.Work on raising your JEE Main exam score to increase your prospects. For admission, that grade is very important. In brief, depending on your category and desired branch, you can either enter into SGSITS with 70% or you can't. However, increasing your JEE Main score and taking the state quota into account can increase your chances.
