Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What was the median package offered to BTech students during Shri GS Institute of Technology & Science Indore placements 2023?

A:

The average package given to BTech students in the 2023 placements at the Shri GS Institute of Technology & Science (SGSITS) in Indore was 10 LPA. In other words, half of the students who landed jobs got paid at least 10 LPA, while the other half was paid less.Since it is unaffected by extremely high or low incomes, the median package is a better approach to comprehend the average package. For instance, the average may appear larger if a few students received unusually high incomes, such as 50 LPA, but the median won't alter significantly. The average compensation package for BTech students at SGSITS Indore in 2023 of 10 LPA demonstrates the college's strong placement prospects. Review of Shri G. S. Institute of Technology and Science.
Placements: There are around 90 students enrolled for electrical engineering course. The highest package was 54 LPA and the lowest was 3-5 LPA, with an average of 11 LPA. Top companies were also good. The college provides good opportunities for this course, electrical engineering.
Infrastructure: The faculty members are helpful and understanding, assisting in various ways such as arranging one-on-one personal talks, etc. There is a wide range of books available in our college. There are also many labs and classrooms. The hostel facility is decent, but I cannot say it is excellent.
Faculty: Faculty is good as previously mentioned, and there are lots of activities for co-curricular and fun in different departments. Exams are really tough in this college due to competition against the best students with 90+ percentile in JEE.
Other: I scored 94 percentile in JEE which led me to take electrical engineering in sgsits .

    About placements and college life.
Placements: About 90% students from our college get placed in every branch. Last year, the highest package was off campus from electrical engineering, i.e., 45 LPA and the average package of top 3 branches was 10 LPA. The average of rest branches is 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: There are well-equipped labs and workshops to study the topics in depth. Currently, I am a hosteller and If you get a chance live in the hostel of sgsits, just go for it. You will get the best moments of your life. Currently, I am a first year student in hostel.
Faculty: Our college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Prodhogiki Vigyan University. The best thing about our college is that it is an autonomous institute so the end semester exams are conducted and checked here. Our course is the same as of NITs.

Satisfied with this because everything is good. But if you get any good NIT or IIIT, go there.
Placements: Approximately 90% students will placed and many will go for Masters or higher studies. The average package is approximately 6-7 LPA. The top recruiting companies in college for software field are Mastercard, etc. And for core background, many top companies are recruiting like Adverbs, Asian paints, Havells and many other companies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, and a proper wi-fi connection is also provided. The hostel is also good but the quality of the food is not so good. Okay, sports and games facilities are also provided, like a sports complex where you will play indoor games and a basketball court and volleyball court are also provided .
Faculty: The faculty of Indore is very good; they are well educated. Anyone with a good experience in a particular subject semester is not difficult. If you have a basic knowledge of a particular subject and know how to solve previous questions topic-wise, you will clear your semester exam. At least 33% is required to clear the semester.
Other: Yes, many fests are organized in college, like Aayam, Graffathon and many other fests.

Our college is good and provides good placements.
Placements: Around 30% of EEE students got placed. Most of the students got internships. Many students got placed in IT companies and a few in core companies. Companies like Asian Paints, Tata, Adobe, etc., come here.
Infrastructure: All the equipment is available. Classrooms in some buildings are old because the infrastructure is very old. All the labs and library facilities are available. All other facilities are not that good, like sports, games, medical, mess, canteen etc.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable, and our HOD teaches us EE network. All the teachers are good. The course curriculum is good. Students study with great enthusiasm. Semester exams are good. Some students face difficulty in some subjects and fail. Around 90-95% of students pass semester examinations.

    Good placements but bad hostel.
Placements: The IT industry placement scenario is a big plus in the on-campus drive for the recruitment. The core sector is kind of dull but companies like Asian Paints and LNT offer good CTCs. Companies like Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Codenation, OBC and Wipro are some on-campus recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: This college has the worst hostel. Infrastructure is decent. It's covered in around 35 acres of land. Greenery is all around and cleanliness is a plus. Wi-Fi is a minus. Library is also good. Labs are not that good as the equipments are outdated in some core engineering branches' labs. Hostel is not good and food quality is disastrous.
Faculty: The college follows RGPV's rules and policies and it is autonomous. Relevant courses are available with respect to the branches. Practical knowledge is a plus. Semester exams are of average difficulty. Anyone who starts to stud 10 days prior to the exams would achieve 7+ GPA.
Other: Not many events are conducted here. Surroundings are great as the college is located in the heart of the city. Extra-curricular activities are not supported by the college.

Here's a summary of the key points:

    * Teaching Quality: Faculty members are generally helpful and knowledgeable, but some may have varying levels of enthusiasm.
    * Course Curriculum: The curriculum is relevant and prepares students for industry requirements, but some students felt it could be improved.
    * Placements: About 95% of students get placed, with the highest package going up to INR45 LPA. Top recruiters include Goldman Sachs, Oracle, and Deutsche Bank.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

    A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

For electrical branch, the cutoff for home state was around 30 thousand and that for other states was 26 thousand for all India for General students. If you are around it, you have higher chances of getting in it. Going marks-wise, around 170 marks will easily get you EEE branch. Best of luck.

WIth the home state quota, you'll easily get EEE branch or at max ECE branch. If you are from outside MP, you'll then get civil or EEE. STATS: Last year cutoff. Best of luck.
