Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Is MBA/PGDM at Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology and Science worth the investment?

A:
{Source: MBA/PGDM students & alumni}

MBA/PGDM at Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology and Science: Worth the Investment?

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Good faculty with a strong grasp of their subjects (GATE qualified M.Tech engineers from IITs and NITs)
* Modern campus with good infrastructure, including Wi-Fi facilities, computer labs, and sports facilities
* Opportunities for extracurricular activities, such as events, festivals, and sports
* Placement records are decent, with some students receiving high-paying jobs (Rs 2-8 LPA) and internships
* Some notable recruiters include TCS, Byjus, and others
* Good scholarships available

Cons:

* Limited internship opportunities (only 5-10 students got placed)
* Placements are mostly in non-core sectors, leading to limited job opportunities in the core sector
* Quality of food in the canteen is subpar
* Hostel rooms are poorly maintained
* Limited availability of recreational spaces, such as a playground or cricket pitch
* Medical facility on campus is limited

Verdict:
While Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology and Science has its strengths, particularly in terms of faculty quality and infrastructure, it may not be the best fit for everyone. The limited internship and placement opportunities, mainly in non-core sectors, might deter some students. Additionally, the poor maintenance of hostels and recreational spaces raises concerns. Overall, while the institute has potential, students must weigh these factors before making a decision.

Recommendation: For students interested in pursuing an MBA/PGDM program, I would suggest considering other options as well to compare the offerings, faculty, and placement prospects. However, if you're looking for a programme with a strong focus on academics and a supportive environment, SVITS might be worth exploring further.

Satisfied with faculties, placement is not really good, infrastructure and facilities are also good.
Placements: 2-3 companies have come to campus and only 1% of students got placed. No internship programs were offered by the college. The highest salary offered by TCS this year was Rs 3,00,000 the lowest salary was Rs 2,50,000, companies visited this year was TCS voltas BYJUS etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good for study. Construction of new infrastructure is also taking place. The library is quite good. No medical shop is there on the campus. The quality of food in the canteen is below average. Poor hostel rooms are there. Not a good infrastructure is provided despite having a good piece of land.
Faculty: The faculty team is good punctual. The qualified and knowledgeable faculty team is there. The course is also good and well defined. The classroom teaching method is used for teaching. The student to faculty ratio is considerable. Industry visits are organized by the college.
Other: Campus crowd is good, scholarship programme is good, loads of events takes place.

Absolutely satisfied with the faculty and the platform the college provided.
Placements: The placements are above average with correspondence to other college in the area. They range from 2.5 L to 9 L for the mechanical engineers. The overall package could be ranged between 5-6 LPA. Recruiters like eicher, gajra gears, TCS, byjus, jaro etc. Come for recruitment. Textile engineering branch prevails which offers 100% placement with packages ranging between 2.5 to 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college offers a very modern campus with numerous facilities in the college. With a full Wi-Fi main block which houses the computer Science, electronics and communication and Electronics and instrumentation departments. With a number of computer labs and other prerequisite engineering labs, it also has a number of sports facility namely cricket football indoor tt and badminton court and a basketball court.
Faculty: All the faculty members are GATE qualified M.Tech engineers from IITs and NITs, they have a deep knowledge of there respective fields and pedagogy is above expectations. The college follows a very vast curriculum which covers the usual engineering subjects comprised with modern subjects that prepare the students for tomorrow. To sum it up I would say it has well balanced curriculum with faculty that substantiate the colleges claims for being one of the best for over 30 years.

Mechanical in SVVV is a good idea or not!
Placements: As admission in mechanical engineering is low, everyone is getting jobs easily, but I will personally suggest you take our college when you are interested in taking a government job. You will get lots of opportunities and time to prepare. Internships are easily available .
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is above average. Wi-Fi is there, which works. Lavs doesn't work mostly. Classrooms are there. The library is the best part of the whole college; the aesthetics are real and you can study. The canteen is average. Medical facilities are available. Games and sports are also there .
Faculty: Yes, teachers and faculty are the best; they are qualified and most of them are helpful. Teachers are good. The curriculum is relevant but don't expect you to be industry-ready if you are studying mechanical engineering at any college. Semester exams are not too tough.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in the field of mechanicals and wanted to do a government job. Yes, I do feel that if they had taken fewer students in CS, the college would be more appealing. Events are there. Fest is also organized. The campus crowd is average. Connectivity is good. I recommend you take part in any club of your interest .

Very bad for mechanical students .
Placements: There is no placement for mechanical students if they want to go for tcs then they can surely join this college. The highest package 3.3 Lacs and min package 1.2 LPA. Top recruiting company tcs. For internship institute doesn't provide any link students themselves have to create there link and do there internship.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Labs are average. For baja and go cart they hve very good workshop. Student who are interested in these events they get opportunity. About hostel I have not having that much idea but that was also average. There is no medical facilities near by. Only one ATM is available and maximum time it is out of service.
Faculty: Faculty members are not that much knowledgeable. B.Tech qualified are faculty members. Some of them having basic knowledge of subject. Teacher show there are very caring but at the time of sessional they show there real face. 75 % attendance is mandatory if not they will charge fine and do not allow for exams.

Review of Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology and Science.
Placements: I'm from mechanical engineering, and I am having the best experience here. About 65% of placements are provided. The highest package offered is 9 LPA, and the lowest salary offered is Rs. 20,000 per month. Companies like Voltas, Eicher, etc., offered placements. Around 78% of the students got internships. Focusing on practical knowledge helps a lot.
Infrastructure: The campus has Wi-Fi enabled blocks, and new premises were recently established. The library and e-library are available. All the classrooms and labs are good. I have no idea about the hostel. The canteen is good. All the sports and games facilities and medical facilities are good. Spardha event is conducted, which is a national event.
Faculty: The teachers are good mentors and give you the perfect advice for your future. The curriculum makes the students industry-ready. This institute also participates in SAE Baja, which gives exposure to students to the automotive sector.
Other: The curriculum should include new topics like e-vehicle. Spandan is the biggest event of our college. Merit students get scholarships. Lots of extracurricular activities are conducted.

Facilities

* The college has good infrastructure, with well-equipped laboratories, classrooms, and a library.
* The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and the sports facilities are good, although limited.
* The hostel accommodation is available for girls, but not for boys.

Teaching Staff

* The faculty members are generally helpful, knowledgeable, and experienced, but some may lack professionalism.
* The teaching method is mostly theoretical, with limited emphasis on practical knowledge.

Placement

* SVITS has a decent reputation for placements, particularly in the IT and core sectors.
* About 60% of students from the ECE branch got placed, mostly in TCS, with an average package of INR 3.36 LPA.
* Other notable recruiters include TCS Ninja, TCS Digital, Byju's, Wipro, and Cognizant.

* The cultural festival is considered one of the best in the region.
* Extracurricular activities are relatively limited, especially for students in technical branches like ME, AU, and CE.
