Placement for our batch was quite good & most of students got an opportunity to enter into corporate world.

The placement in my college is not that good for the previous batches, and I think that the reason behind that no good companies came to hire the students.

I thought I took the wrong decision by taking admission here, but now I feel it is actually good!
Placements: Around 10-20 percent of students get placement. The highest package is around 11 Lacs, the lowest is 3 Lacs, and the average is 4-5 Lacs. The top recruits of our course are HCL, Tata, Mahindra, etc. Around 25% of students get internships in the above companies. The roles offered are cashier, analyst, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent; it contains all like Wi-Fi, labs, well-ventilated classrooms, a library, etc. But the library is not 24x7. A hostel is not available. For accommodation, you need to rely on PGs and private hostels provided by some private organizations.
Faculty: We have good teachers and a pretty good curriculum. This course is very relevant to today's world, and it's in demand. The exam conducted is difficult, and the passing percentage varies from 70-85%. The exams are tough, but if you pay attention to your course, then it will be much easier for you to crack it.
Other: I chose this course because it was pretty relevant to today's financial market, and it is in demand. But if the course gets a new update, then it will be much better. Our college has pretty good events and fests, not like those big ones, but decent.

Absolutely dissatisfied with college faculty and location.
Placements: I am still studying, and my graduation will be completed in 2027, but I know for a fact that my seniors didn't get placed by the college. Not many companies come to this college for placement because of the college's reputation. The college doesn't provide internships; students have to use their own efforts.
Infrastructure: As a student of B.A. Programme (Political Science + Computer Application), not many facilities are available, but their functionality is in question because Wi-Fi is as slow as it can get. There are three computer labs, but only one is functional, and computers in it are also quite slow. There is no hostel. There is a cafeteria, though, but prices are high; it should cost less. Sports facilities are not up to par, like in football, we do not get a proper ground, no proper equipment, and there is no gym for players as well.
Faculty: Only a few teachers are helpful and friendly; the rest of the teachers are not much. Teaching quality is good for Political Science, Economics, History, and English. Examination difficulties are medium, depending on the subject you have opted for, and you have to pass in more than 7 subjects out of 14 in a year to pass and not get a year back.
Other: This course was my 3rd option. I was trying for JNU and BHU, not DU, but my bad was that I didn't make the cut-off. It was the last option, so I had to choose it. The course which I chose is also good; it will help in preparing for government exams and landing a job in the IT sector if skills are good. There is nothing to improve if the teacher is good, but one thing, if I can improve, is I will add a more practical way of teaching, more like visiting sites and companies, inspiring students to get more insights, and also removing language papers to optional and not in general electives area. There are organizations of events and fests by college societies, and scholarships are provided to EWS students and PWD students.

Dissatisfied by the college, its faculty, societies and crowd.
Placements: Around 30-40% of students were placed in my course this year. The highest package went for 4-5 lacs p.a., and the lowest was around 1.5 lacs. The average was 2-3 lacs. Top recruiting companies were IBM, Astral, and many more. Around 25% of students got internships in companies like Juspay, etc. The top roles offered are data analyst and economist.
Infrastructure: Facilities available in Shyamlal include a small ground and a large group consisting of NCC camps. There is a small amphitheatre and an average canteen in the college, average and conditioned libraries, and labs. Classrooms are average too in both the new building and the old.
There is no hostel available, but there are many PGs available beside the college.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful and knowledgeable, but not all, and their teaching quality is above average.
This course curriculum is much relevant and makes the students industry-ready.
Semester exams are much tougher in the college as all DU colleges have the same question paper from the University; you need to pass 40% of your subjects.
Other: I chose this course because this is not an average course, and I needed a valuable undergraduate degree. The best thing about this course is that it makes you mathematically strong.
I wish this course didn't have so much mathematics and more about economics.
The campus surroundings are below average, and the crowd in the college consists of 50% illiterate students.
Events in the college happen to be good, but there is not much importance given to societies in the college.

One of the worst college - Shyam Lal (Evening).
Placements: I don't know much about placements as I'm in my first semester, but there is a placement cell/club in the college that might help with placements in the third year. There is also a skill development society to help enhance skills needed for placement.
Infrastructure: The college itself is not very big, with only two buildings. There are three computer labs, but sometimes the computers are not connected to Wi-Fi, requiring students to use personal hotspots. The library has a reading room, but the tables are in poor condition. There is no hostel, so students from outside Delhi NCR need to find private accommodation. The canteen is good, with a wide variety of food. Some sports facilities are available, but not all; for example, there are no basketball or badminton courts. The classrooms are fine.
Faculty: We will be getting our ID cards in the second semester, while students at other colleges already have theirs. As a spot-round student, I had to apply my preferred skill enhancement and value addition courses. Initially, I attended classes based on my submitted choices, but after a month, I was assigned completely different subjects, ruining my attendance for that period. There are some promising teachers, but not many. Some teachers rush through the syllabus without proper explanation. It's my first semester, and we are already being given assignments on topics that haven't been taught yet, seemingly to rush through the syllabus for the semester exams.
Other: The campus surroundings are not safe; people get robbed. Students in the evening batches are not respected in the college. If you have the option to attend other colleges, especially if you are coming from another state, you should consider them.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty, good placements in 2024, really good infrastructure .
Placements: Around 10-15% of graduates get placed, with the lowest package around 1.5 LPA and the highest around 6-7 LPA. Top recruiters are Zomato, KPMG, etc. Around 20-25% of students are able to get an internship. Lower roles are offered after B. Com., but graduates need to do an MBA or CA Intermediate for higher roles.
Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure and well-maintained labs and classrooms. The library is quite good, and students who want to study can come here and enjoy their college life. However, morning is better than evening due to placement and better crowd.
Faculty: The student body is very diverse, with students from all over Kerala and the Shillong area. The teachers are very supportive, and the facilities are top-notch. The workload is moderate, and you can expect to take four tests. This college is a great choice for students who want a supportive learning environment.
Other: B.Com is quite popular here. B.Sc and B.A are not as popular, but they are offered as well.

All about Shyam Lal College (Evening).
Placements: The placement of the college is good but not great if you compare it with North Campus or South Campus colleges. As it is part of Delhi University, students can go to any college of Delhi University for placement, and placement is generally dependent on student skills and knowledge.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Shyam Lal College is decent, not too great. There is a nursery in the college. There is one ground in the college, and it is divided into two parts. There are two parking lots in the college: one is for students, and one is for teachers. Classrooms are decent. Canteen infrastructure is the worst, but the canteen has a variety of foods.
Faculty: The faculty of Shyam Lal College is good. Some teachers are very helpful, but some teachers are doing their job. They did not inform students about any event. It's all up to your lunch that which teacher you got. Exams are held semester-wise, but teachers take at least 1 test per month.
