How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.Com students at Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women?

Based on the feedback provided by students and alumni, here's a summary of the placement cell's performance:

    * Limited number of companies: The placement cell occasionally invites a few companies, mostly start-ups, for on-campus interviews. Companies like Genpact, Tata Power, Wipro, TCS, and Tech Mahindra have visited the campus in the past.
    * Low placement rates: Around 10-15% of students get placed annually, according to some students' comments.

Satisfied with the Infrastructure but heartbroken by the placement approach.
Placements: I was a Non-Collegiate student there through NCWEB and pursued a B.Com programme. Amazon did the campus drive there for the Customer Support Executive profile. They gave equal chances to all the students there were multiple grounds for the same. Many students got placed in around 3 to 4 LPA packages.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good, I loved the way they decorated the grounds and the entrance. There were a lot of varieties of flowers, I used to roam in the grounds, Canteen was good and the food was awesome, There was a Library but that was for regular students only, we had a single room where few of the books were available that was related to our course. Our exam pattern is the same as the regular students, and even the syllabus are same, but the facilities and perks are different for us.
Faculty: The teachers were quite good, the course is helpful and makes us industry ready as it covers all the aspect of market, economy, and business. The best part is courses and syllabus are the same for the regular students and Non-Collegiate students. That's useful for us.
Other: I guess, they should introduce more courses related to business and entrepreneurship, and by keeping that thing more and more. Events or Activities should be organized so that students can realise their true potential.

It's a good college, you will be satisfied taking admission and will enjoy your college life.
Placements: I was from the 2019–2022 batch, and from my course, no one got placed; other course students might have gotten placed. Many companies came to our college for placements, including KPMG and NGO's. The average package at the college is about 4–5 LPA. Students got placed in various roles in life, including accounting, social work, HR, and many more.
Infrastructure: college has a great infrastructure along with many facilities, including sports, different kinds of labs, Library, open gym, close gym, cafeteria, common room, sports room, etc. Also, it has various spots to spend time with friends and have fun, like Hut area ground and other places too.
Faculty: The faculty of our college is really very experienced and knowledgeable; they provide all types of guidance that are required for our future and also use good teaching techniques. Also, faculty members are very friendly and humble, understand their students very well, and encourage them to enrich their potential and develop skills.
Other: The college environment is very good and safe for girls; you will have access to buses, metros, and railways nearby the college, and if we talk about the festival, it is also good according to the college; footfall at the festival is also good.

Our college provides good infrastructure, and social life but has rude admin office members.
Placements: Our college is not that good in placements. The average salary package offered is around 5 LPA. I am not satisfied with the placements but it's all about government college. It's DU, so the hype is all about it. The college should work on the recruitment and internships.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are fine. The infrastructure is good. Hostel facility is not provided. Otherwise, the campus is beautiful. There are many things to explore. There is a network issue on campus. The food served in the canteen is quite good and affordable. You must go for it. Hygiene is maintained. The lab is good with an air-conditioned facility.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. Administration office members are a bit short-tempered. The difficulty level of exams is moderate. Students need to focus on their studies and in the classrooms to score well in exams. Almost 65% of attendance is mandatory.
Other: I got good information for my social life by joining different societies on campus.

Our college provides good infrastructure and teachers.
Placements: I am from B.Com (Hons). there are 2 to 3 companies visited the campus during our course. They conduct interviews in many stages for recruitment which is quite good. Around 3 to 4 students got selected in this course. The percentage of students got Internships was decent but mostly companies were hiring for night shifts.
Infrastructure: There was a big library divided in different sections and mostly books were available. Building and lab facilities were quite good. There as no hostel facility but college was working on it. NCC, NSS, and sports facilities were also conducted. Separate medical room was also there in case of any emergency.
Faculty: For education, the college is completely perfect. Teachers and all staff are very helpful. Different societies are made for grievances. The course curriculum is relevant and different activities are also conducted. Many senior faculty members were available and they have in-depth knowledge.
Other: Events, fests, and extracurricular activities were conducted well. Our campus crowd was quite good. Seniors were very helpful and humble.

It is a good and safe college.
Placements: Our seniors got placed with good jobs, but they are not fully satisfied with them.
Infrastructure: Our college is the best in terms of infrastructure. We have a lift in the new building. The library is good. All fans and lights in every classroom are working properly. Our canteen provides a variety of food items. It is the best.
Faculty: All faculty members are average. They just try to wind up the whole syllabus at the end of the semester. Professors are good. They will teach you by the half of the semester and in the rest, you can revise.
Other: You should maintain your attendance. Our college will call your parents for short attendance.

    DU life is worth living.
Placements: The placements of this college are not so good. Only 20 to 30% students get placed, but the placements cell of my college is good in providing internships. As majority of the college comprises of commerce department students, so majority of the placements are done in the commerce department.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College is average, neither too good nor too bad. The classrooms are quite well maintained in the new building. Canteen area is not so clean. There are no air conditioning facilities in the college. Food is good in the canteen.
Faculty: The professors are well qualified and educated. Majority of the teachers have done Ph.Ds in their respective fields. The teaching quality is good here. The teachers are always available and we can interact with them anytime. The semester exams are of moderate level. Overall, the studies and the faculty are good.
Other: I was from a commerce background so I opted for B.Com Honours. I guess this was the best option I had back then. Events in this college are not so frequent and internet connections are not good in the campus. Fests are good.
