B.A. (Economics, Sociology) - Batch of 2023

Beautiful Shyama with best infrastructure and best facilities.
Placements: 37 students were there in my major as Economics and 11 in minor, which was Sociology. The highest package offered in my course was 5 Lacs per annum, and the lowest was 3 Lacs per annum. 50 percent of students got internships. Students got placed in my course. Companies like Nestlé and Tata came to our college.
Infrastructure: The faculty was superb and very well-qualified, as well as supportive in nature. My Sociology department was one of the best departments of my college. Hostel facility is not available in my college. The Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium of our college was one of the best auditoriums of Delhi University.
Faculty: Yes, teachers were well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality was also good, and the course curriculum was also according to the present need. It makes students deal with present-day problems, and practically, students can solve their issues.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics - Batch of 2024

B.Sc. Hons mathematics in SPM Delhi University .
Placements: I do not think even 10% of students got placed because most of the students opted for higher education, not jobs. But yes, many cleared the IIT JAM exam and got admission to NIT and Delhi University itself. The companies that came for placement were offering target-based jobs and 9-10 hour workdays with below 3 LPA. Although some students got internships at platforms like Chegg. But do not worry, we have the opportunity to go to any Delhi University college job fair, which almost every college organizes on the North or South Campus. Also, you may get more opportunities in other areas.
Infrastructure: No hostel is available. You have to arrange a PG or flat. PG will cost you around 8k -15k but you can search for an independent room in Paschim Vihar, Paschim Puri near Murliwala sweet. A furnished room will cost you around 5k-6k. You can share it with your friends.
Faculty: Teachers were very good and supportive. No, it does not give you industry exposure. It is a theory-based course. Internals were very easy but you will get the exact marks on the list as you got in the test except for some teachers who give grace marks. The passing percentage is 33 only.
Other: College crowd is moderate as it is basically an art college but lots of events are organized. Metro and bus both connectivity is awesome.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science - Batch of 2024

Totally dissatisfied because of placement, faculty members were not that much corporate.
Placements: In my batch, there were a total of around 130 students, and none of them were placed in any company. The college was providing internship details, and if you want to do one, you can go through the procedure. But there were no on-campus placements. Most of the students opted for further studies like MCA or M.Sc. in Computer Science.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is average compared to other Delhi University colleges. It has a very small campus. Only in the canteen, you can get a Wi-Fi facility. Classrooms are average with no air conditioning. There were no hostel facilities. You have to seek a flat or PG.
Faculty: Teachers mainly focused on the theory part rather than the practical. Teaching was not that much sufficient for industry readiness. The semester exams were not that difficult. Most of the questions were from the class notes. A student who takes her class on a daily basis can secure a high CGPA.
Other: I have a keen interest in coding and want to explore this field. If the college focuses on the practical part, they would do really well. Annually, fests are held by the college for four days. The campus crowd is not that much.

B.A. (Hons.) in English - Batch of 2026

Good placement, hygienic food, knowledgeable and supportive teachers, and internships provided.
Placements: During the course period, we get a chance to enroll ourselves to join the internship programmes. Afterwards, at the beginning, we get a certificate and gradually we get a permanent job to work under the DU faculty in any programmes. I got enrolled in the UBA programme, which provides us job opportunities too.
Infrastructure: I don't know about the hostel thing, but the classrooms, labs, and library are the best, with huge space. We are provided the library card to use it anytime of the day. We can borrow books from there, and the quality of food is also very good and hygienic.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. They put extra effort to provide us with better knowledge about something, and the most fun thing about them is they solve our doubts anytime whenever we ask. Whether it's too many questions, they won't deny us but will explain everything again and again. Semester exams are not that difficult if you prepare for them very well.
Other: I was interested in this subject, and I wanted to build a career in language, so I chose it. Teachers are kind and helpful. Our college holds fests every month, and we have different activities where we gain entrepreneurship knowledge as well.

B.A. (HDFE, Political Science) - Batch of 2026

My life at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, Delhi University.
Placements: Placement cell is not very active in my college. However, the placement cell provides some opportunities, such as small placements and internships, which are beneficial for students to gain new experiences. Small companies recruit students, mostly in the fields of economics and mathematics. I believe the highest salary package offered was 6 LPA, not more than that.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility in my college. Students have to stay in PG accommodations, which is difficult and costly. Computer labs, classrooms, and library are nice, and the library has a lot of books. However, the Wi-Fi facility is not that good. We always face issues due to the Wi-Fi.
Faculty: Faculty members and the course are all very good, and I am very happy with the course I’ve chosen because it is very interesting. I am eager to study it at a higher level. Semester exams are not very difficult, they are of moderate level and can be easily passed by studying the previous year's questions.
Other: I chose the course HDFE + Political Science because I was interested in studying Political Science. When I got to know about HDFE after joining the college, it was also very interesting to study. There are two main fests in my college: one is Jhilmil, which is a Diwali fest, and the other is Srijan, which is the main fest of my college where celebrities also come to perform.

Decent infrastructure and facilities, Good Faculty.
Placements: After pursuing B.A. (Hons) in English most students go for higher studies and do not sit for placements. Students have to make an effort to grab opportunities regarding internships. As the course is not really industry oriented, it is hard to comment on the placements. Instead of looking for on campus placements, graduates should look for jobs on online job platform and freelance website.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is similar to all Delhi University Colleges. The campus is of decent size. There is a spacious library, an air-conditioned auditorium, sports ground, an affordable canteen and beautiful garden. The library has a good collection of books, but it is not updated frequently. The quality of food available in the canteen is decent enough according to their prices.
Faculty: The faculty for the course is quite good. All the professors are knowledgeable and qualified. They are helpful and provide guidance related to careers, projects etc. If you interact with them often. The semester exams are not at all hard to pass. They are based on previous year questions.
Other: Various competitions are held in the college almost on weekly basis by different departments and societies. An annual fest and Diwali mela is also organized by the college. The crowd is decent. There are people from different places.
