Good placement, hygienic food, knowledgeable and supportive teachers, and internships provided.
Placements: During the course period, we get a chance to enroll ourselves to join the internship programmes. Afterwards, at the beginning, we get a certificate and gradually we get a permanent job to work under the DU faculty in any programmes. I got enrolled in the UBA programme, which provides us job opportunities too.
Infrastructure: I don't know about the hostel thing, but the classrooms, labs, and library are the best, with huge space. We are provided the library card to use it anytime of the day. We can borrow books from there, and the quality of food is also very good and hygienic.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. They put extra effort to provide us with better knowledge about something, and the most fun thing about them is they solve our doubts anytime whenever we ask. Whether it's too many questions, they won't deny us but will explain everything again and again. Semester exams are not that difficult if you prepare for them very well.
Other: I was interested in this subject, and I wanted to build a career in language, so I chose it. Teachers are kind and helpful. Our college holds fests every month, and we have different activities where we gain entrepreneurship knowledge as well.

My life at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, Delhi University.
Placements: Placement cell is not very active in my college. However, the placement cell provides some opportunities, such as small placements and internships, which are beneficial for students to gain new experiences. Small companies recruit students, mostly in the fields of economics and mathematics. I believe the highest salary package offered was 6 LPA, not more than that.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility in my college. Students have to stay in PG accommodations, which is difficult and costly. Computer labs, classrooms, and library are nice, and the library has a lot of books. However, the Wi-Fi facility is not that good. We always face issues due to the Wi-Fi.
Faculty: Faculty members and the course are all very good, and I am very happy with the course I’ve chosen because it is very interesting. I am eager to study it at a higher level. Semester exams are not very difficult, they are of moderate level and can be easily passed by studying the previous year's questions.
Other: I chose the course HDFE + Political Science because I was interested in studying Political Science. When I got to know about HDFE after joining the college, it was also very interesting to study. There are two main fests in my college: one is Jhilmil, which is a Diwali fest, and the other is Srijan, which is the main fest of my college where celebrities also come to perform.

Decent infrastructure and facilities, Good Faculty.
Placements: After pursuing B.A. (Hons) in English most students go for higher studies and do not sit for placements. Students have to make an effort to grab opportunities regarding internships. As the course is not really industry oriented, it is hard to comment on the placements. Instead of looking for on campus placements, graduates should look for jobs on online job platform and freelance website.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is similar to all Delhi University Colleges. The campus is of decent size. There is a spacious library, an air-conditioned auditorium, sports ground, an affordable canteen and beautiful garden. The library has a good collection of books, but it is not updated frequently. The quality of food available in the canteen is decent enough according to their prices.
Faculty: The faculty for the course is quite good. All the professors are knowledgeable and qualified. They are helpful and provide guidance related to careers, projects etc. If you interact with them often. The semester exams are not at all hard to pass. They are based on previous year questions.
Other: Various competitions are held in the college almost on weekly basis by different departments and societies. An annual fest and Diwali mela is also organized by the college. The crowd is decent. There are people from different places.

B.A. (Hons.) in Geography - Batch of 2024

Good environment and infrastructure.
Placements: During my batch (2021-24), there were around 62 students in our course Geography Hons. Genuinely, if I tell you the truth, there are no such placements for Geography Honors students, but also the placements at our college are not so good. But our department (geography) always conducts various seminars and lectures for students related to discipline.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of SPM College is very good if compared to other colleges in DU. The college provides Wi-Fi facilities, but there is a problem with the network and nice library. The food of our canteen's food is so tasty and hygiene, but our geography department has good labs (GIS lab) and a good classroom with smart boards.
Faculty: The geography department of Spm College is the best department, and I think our geography department is one of the best geography departments in DU. The teachers of our department are highly experienced and well educated. The way of teaching is amazing. They teach each and every topic very well and deep and semester exam are conducts according to university 's syllabus pattern.
Other: Actually, I have an interest in geography. So, I chose this course, and I feel it is a more practical subject than other humanities courses. The college regularly organizes events, fest, seminars, sports, etc.

Our college provides good infrastructure, and social life but has rude admin office members.
Placements: Our college is not that good in placements. The average salary package offered is around 5 LPA. I am not satisfied with the placements but it's all about government college. It's DU, so the hype is all about it. The college should work on the recruitment and internships.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are fine. The infrastructure is good. Hostel facility is not provided. Otherwise, the campus is beautiful. There are many things to explore. There is a network issue on campus. The food served in the canteen is quite good and affordable. You must go for it. Hygiene is maintained. The lab is good with an air-conditioned facility.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. Administration office members are a bit short-tempered. The difficulty level of exams is moderate. Students need to focus on their studies and in the classrooms to score well in exams. Almost 65% of attendance is mandatory.
Other: I got good information for my social life by joining different societies on campus.

Life at SPM: Pros and Cons .
Placements: The Bachelors in Psychology course does not offer any placement. Although there is guidance on how to find internships outside the college or course, it does not provide any. The course requires at least a master's degree to hold a job in the field. Students often look for internships in hospitals.
Infrastructure: The psychology lab is air-conditioned and hygienic. All the other classrooms are, however, not properly cleaned and have only fans. The canteen offers a variety of items at reasonable prices. There are badminton and basketball courts, as well as a medical room, stationary and sprint shop on campus.
Faculty: Most of the professors in the department are qualified and experienced. However, a few rarely show up for classes and are not professionals. The course curriculum is relevant, along with the research emphasis. The exams are very lengthy and theory-based.
Other: There are a lot of events organized by the psychology department and the campus is pretty. It is within walking distance of the Green Line metro. There are also NSS, NCC and sports opportunities available, along with dance, art, literature and theatre societies. The campus, however, is located within a housing society, leaving absolutely no campus life for students.
