Q:   Question: How is the course curriculum for B.Sc. at Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

    Course Curriculum

    * The course curriculum is structured in such a way that it covers various topics, including pure math subjects like real analysis, ring theory, etc. (Student)
    * The curriculum is based too much on pure math rather than focusing more on the practical part. (Alumni)
    * The course is designed to take students on a different level of understanding of general life also, connecting them with technology, data structures, and upcoming industries. (Student)

It seems that the course curriculum at Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College focuses mainly on theoretical concepts in mathematics, with a emphasis on pure math subjects. While some students appreciate the depth of knowledge gained, others feel that the curriculum could benefit from more practical applications and industry-focused training.

Note: Since multiple responses mention the curriculum being focused on pure math, I've highlighted that aspect in the answer. Additionally, while some students appreciated the curriculum, others expressed concerns, reflecting a mixed view among students and alumni.

    Placement Cell Success Rate

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the success rate of the placement cell in securing jobs for B.Sc. students at Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College:

    * Limited Placement Opportunities: Although the college has a placement cell, the number of placements secured is relatively low, with only 2 out of 100 students getting placed in a particular batch.
    * Mostly Pursue Higher Studies: As mentioned by several students, many students prefer to pursue higher education instead of taking up job offers.
    * Some Companies Visited Campus: Despite limited placements, companies like Decathlon, Byju, and others have visited the campus for recruitment purposes.
    * Internship Opportunities Available: While the placement record may not be impressive, almost 20% of students have secured internships with companies like Genpact, Capgemini, and Microsoft during their tenure.

I am not satisfied with facilities, but our college provides good placements and internships.
Placements: About 75% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 10 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges between 3.5 LPA - 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Career Connect Global, Marquee Equity, Younity, Intellipaat, etc. Most of the placements and internships are offered for all courses. Top roles offered for internships are business analyst, content writer, marketing intern, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is not available in our college. There are ten laboratories with air-conditioner facilities. Some classrooms are non-air-conditioned, and benches are not in good condition. The hostel facility is not available in our college. The food served in the canteen is not good and variety is less with high prices. The canteen area is not spacious. It is an open canteen, and only a few chairs are available. The canteen is near the parking area. The playground, sports, and games are not available in our college. The medical room is not good. The condition of the restrooms is not good, although workers keep them clean.
Faculty: Some teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is average. Semester exams are quite difficult. The first-year syllabus is good, but the second-year syllabus is quite vast.
Other: Our college campus is small. Events and fests are not good. Students should learn many things apart from the course.

I will not suggest you to take admission in this college .
Placements: 3-5 students are placed and with the highest package of INR 3.2 Lacs and a lot of students go for Masters. This college do not have a good placement from past years and the maximum package was INR 4 Lakhs. The major companies are Wipro and Byjus and there is no single company recruiting only B.Sc students.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi facilities with bad infrastructure. The college is small and has no garden area. Teachers are rude. There is no hostel facility.
Faculty: The college do not have good staff, no lab facilities and lectures are also rude. No guidance from teachers and no support for students. Exams are easy, you can crack easily. But if you are preparing for placement and interview, this will not work for you. The college campus is very small and canteen food is not up to the mark.
Other: College is small and there is no facility for students. There is no proper time table. The campus is very crowded. I will suggest you to not take admission in this college .

Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty and teaching standards.
Placements: 3-5 students have been placed from this course. The highest package is about 3.2 LPA and a lot of students go for Masters. The college does not have good placements in past years. Maximum package was 4 LPA last year. There was a placement of 3.5 LPA but it was from commerce department. Majior recruiters are Wipro, Dettol, Byjus, etc. If you are planning for IT companies then this college will not help you.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi facilities are available. The college has a bad infrastructure and it is small. There is no garden area and the staff is rude. If you ask them any doubt then they will ignore you or they will tell you to find about it by yourself. Some teachers are good but a lot of them will try to demotivate you.
Faculty: Semester exams are easy as this college is under DU. It also helps for Masters entrance exams like JAM and GATE. These exams are good for Masters but if you think that this college will help you in getting placed then do not expect that. The college has a bad placement history.
Other: The college has bad staff. No lab facilities are available. Lectures are also rude and no guidance is provided by them. No support is provided by the students.

I am satisfied with this college in all aspects.
Placements: Approximately 70% of students are placed, and the rest of them are interested in higher studies. The highest salary package offered is 1.2 LPA. The average salary offered is Rs 70,000 per month, and the lowest salary offered is Rs 40,000 per month. The top recruiting companies are Jaro Education, British Telecom, etc. Students who get 50% of their marks get placements. The top roles offered are programming, private coaching, etc.
Infrastructure: There is enough equipment available like Wi-Fi and computers. It also provides a library and many books are available for the course. The classrooms are clean, and students get every required thing for study. But the computers need some repairing. I would like to rate for 4 stars for the canteen, because it is not good enough.
Faculty: In this college, teachers are helpful. They teach students like a friend, and they are very knowledgeable. They are always available whenever they need help. Our course curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are prepared for whatever they have studied. Everything comes into the exam from recommended books, and around 30% of marks are required to get pass.

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College.
Placements: Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College comes under the University of Delhi. Most of the Du Colleges have their placement cells. Similarly, SGNDKC has a placement cell that comes with various internship opportunities throughout the year for students of all courses and years. Companies like Wipro etc, come at placement drive every year.
Infrastructure: If you are looking towards a huge campus and grounds then surely this is not the right place. SGNDKC might be a small campus but it has all the facilities like e fully air-conditioned library and computer labs. It does not have hostel facilities but you can surely find the right accommodation near the college. College also has a nice canteen area where you can surely have a good time with your friends. Taking about sports and games, the college has OORJA-The sports society which takes care of physical activities and events and is also a nice place for indoor games.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and very cooperative. They are very frank and helpful and at the same time give the best when teaching. Semesters exam are not so difficult if you study regularly. Even if you start studying before a month you can surely pass with flying colors. In my course B.Sc. Mathematics Hons. About 100% of students pass the ed previous semester's exams.

Our college has good academics and social activities but average infrastructure.
Placements: The cutoff was about 94% for mathematics honours. There is a placement cell in our college that provides various types of internships and high-paying jobs to eligible students. Placements are all dependent upon the ability of the job seekers. I've heard that many of the students got internships in multinational companies.
Infrastructure: The worst thing about the college is its infrastructure. Our college doesn't have any type of hostel facility. The college doesn't even have any type of ground. It has a small parking lot which has been used for cultural festivals and other fests or for any socially related activities.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very understanding, helpful, and knowledgeable. Even in the lockdown period, they helped us a lot to get through exams with very good marks. They gave us practical knowledge too, to make us industry-ready. The 4th-semester exams were tough. The passing percentage in our college was 40%.
